Thought I'd share this article in the Orlando Sentinel about how the timeshare business is booming despite the other drops in Orlando tourism.

Orlando Timeshare

Sorry, I had the wrong link earlier. :(

Thanks for the article, Pam.

Just imagine, the reporter heard that BWV may sell out soon!!

Doc, this is the second Orlando Sentinel article that talks about BWV about to sell-out and skips mention of the VWL. Maybe they should take a ride over to WDW someday. :) ;)

Gee Pam, are you implying that the Orlando Sentinel is lax in getting accurate information?

Except for that BWV comment, it's very interesting to read about the industry averages.

Thanks for the link!:)

From the article PamOKW linked to:

The couple paid $17,600 for part ownership of a two-bedroom condominium. They're guaranteed at least one week's stay a year forever, provided they pay an annual $550 maintenance fee on the property. The couple also has time shares at Marriott resorts in Virginia and South Carolina. Marriott, like other time share companies, allows them to swap their time shares for stays at other resorts.

When I read things like this I just wanta skip-a-dee-doo-da..... Look how much MORE we as DVCers are getting for our $$$.

:D :D :D

I wrote the author to correct him about BWV... thanks for the heads up on the article.

Nice picture of the Marriott Vacation Club timeshare resort pool, too.;)

Well, we'd rather be "Aging, Affluent Baby Boomers" than the expression that was popular awhile back... "DINK" - Double Income, No Kids.

Besides, in a few years all those great AARP bennies will kick in :D
