pumpkinboy ?

jillpie?

All you other MA folks.

Delta is up to Thursday the 15th today, and I can book a non-stop, BOS to RSW (Ft Myers) for $134 one way. Not the best I've ever done, but not the worst either. Waiting for DH to confirm and I'm off to book.

Anyone else looking at Feb vacation of next year already?

Hi Debster812

~Count me~ I have been looking. I need one way 2/17 LGA or EWR to MCO so far CO has there fares out, but too high.

Wish me luck :thumbsup2

Good Luck!!!

I just pumped the school secretary for info, and found out that the Friday prior to vacation is a professional development day, so the kids have no school. So.....I pushed up our departure by one day (leaving the 14th) and got the flights I wanted.

The 17th will be available on Delta in 2 days. Last night at midnight, they rolled into the 15th. Tonight they'll roll into the 16th, and tomorrow night they'll go to the 17th.

I booked with Delta, and the seat map (which I KNOW will change) still showed the set up for the old Song planes, so I booked us seats in the front cabin just for giggles.....

You go Deb :thumbsup2 .

Love how you colored Pumpkinboy's name :teeth: , how would we know him otherwise?

No, no February for us. This upcoming trip is huge and will break the bank. We're doing 5 days DW, then on to the Magic for 7. Should be a blast, but can't even imagine the next trip. You know it'll happen, but not sure when. Our oldest goes to college in September. Anyway! If I had to to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate to go Jetblue at this point. But I certainly understand wanting to get those flights now. I can't stand this Delta uncertainty, driving me nuts. Good luck with your flights, did you do better than the 134.00?

Oh btw Deb, did you know that little boy that was hit by the car last week? Sorry to be sad, but boy did that hit me hard. How awful was that.

Jill, we did not know him personally, DS is only in 3rd grade, and Ryan was in 6th grade and at a different school. But.....a VERy good friend of ours daughter was in his class, and was his science partner. She's devastated. I suspect there is going to be some sort of fundraiser in a few weeks. And the Middle School is keeping a VERY close eye on the kids.

I did not do any better than the $134 for the one way, but I've done worse for Feb School Vacation week, so it's OK. Getting home will be the trick.

Hay Debster812,

It seems that Delta like CO has raised there prices. I am going to have to sweat this year. Leaving 2/17 one way. from LGA or EWR Coming home 2/24 one way. "Operation $200.00 in total"

Keep me posted with your return, as I will with mine.

Thanks for all your advice.

Patricia

I'm looking, but I think I'm just going to wait it out.

Last year Song added 3 flights per day after I booked. I think once they know whats going on they will be in a better position to offer more flights. Right now with the Song merger they only have 3 flights to MCO per day. Song had 6 and I've flown Delta every Feb and they always have at least 4 or 5 during Feb- even to Ft Lauderdale.

But I did book my room.!!

Tink-n-Belle, I suspect something similar may happen to us. Currently there is only ONE non-stop from BOS-RSW on Delta. I have to believe once some of this current Delta/Song uncertainty is shaken out, there will be one or two non-stops added back in. And I suspect the schedule will be changed some too. I don't see us actually flying on the 7am flight out of Boston, but I wanted to lock in at a price I could live with.

Now off to figure out when we're coming home..........

Hay Debster812

We just booked USAIR Feb 17, 2007 EWR to MCO in 4 hours
68.84 plus 24.26 tax = $93.10 each

"We're going to Disney" I am so.......excited. Thanks for all of your advice.

Now, I need to find a flight home, I am going to try Delta, since I have a voucher for $158.00. I guess I will have to wait to next week for there fares on the 24th to come home.

Are you using Delta to come home too?

Thanks again

NICE JOB!!!!! Ya done good. I can't book my flight home til next week, and I will look at Delta first, if I can live with the price, I'll book. If they're through the roof, I'll wait til Jet Blue comes out with flights, since last year, after JB extended their schedule, Delta came down about 2 weeks later, for a couple of days.

See you back here next week!!!!!!

Well, it seems like I will be playing the waiting game for our flight home. So far the flight home from RSW to BOS is around $500 for a one way. The budget just won't handle that.

So, I join you all in waiting for JetBlue, SWA, and AirTran. (JetBlue is preferable, since they'll have a non-stop).

Sorry for not checking into this thread earlier. But here I am, Orange and all.

Well, we are going in February 2007, but have not had any luck with flights yet. No way I am shelling out $500+ each way way out at 331 days :furious:

I think we're either gonna do the Frequent Flyer ticket thing (we should have enough for all four of us on either Delta or JetBlue) or simply go with JetBlue, or even SouthWest if we have to. I really miss the Song pricing model, which is why I think JetBlue is gonna be our airline of choice for the immediate future.

February '07 is gonna be the reverse of this year, in temrs of our stays. This year we had a lovely relaxing interlude at VB over Prez Day weekend, then moved to BWV on the Tuesday; my DW just found that she was exhausted after the WDW time, and really needed to put the VB relaxation at the end, so we come back rested. So we're doing BWV from Fri 2/16 thru Thurs 2/22 (when our APs expire) then VB for the weekend. I think we'll fly home from West Palm (PBI) if the price is decent, since that's so easy to get to from VB, but we'll do MCO if PBI is a lot more.

Actually for the BWV time, I was apparently asleep at the switch, and did not reserve until the 11 month mark for the last day of the stay, We managed to get our beloved Std View 2BR for the weekend nights and the Weds, but had to waitlist for the Sun - Weds. (in need of Pixie Dust, pls) I am doing it night by night, so we'll take advantage of any cancellations that happen right away. MS opined that we'd very likely get all the nights when other folks switched at 7 months, but we got a BW view 2BR as a backup (pretty nice backup, eh). I am still kicking myself for forgetting and not doing day by day. Oh well. We're still going to Disney next February, and that'll be great. Now to get decent airfare. :goodvibes

Hi Debster812

I happend to look at your thread early last eve, & saw your advice about the 12:00 AM tickets. Got up at this time :surfweb: & booked, a one way home from MCO to LGA on Delta $168.00 per person ( with a 1 quick stop 4 hours in total, instead of direcet 3 hours NON STOP) I used the volucher I had, which, the second ticket I was only, $9.00 Came to $177.00 for the two of us.

The whole trip came to $181.00 per person round trip. I am very happy with my find. Now, hopefully Delta will, have no problems by next Feb 2007

Thanks for "ALL" of your advice. It really helped us find a great fare.

Oh Patricia, that's GREAT. Congratulations, that is a good fare. You must be pleased.

Hey fellow MA travelers!
As you can see by my name, we usually drive, but I am also searching for Feb fares--not sure the old minivan can handle I-95 one more time! And after the parking lot (formerly known as the Jersey Turnpike) last Feb, getting there in a few hours sounds especially sweet. I thought the 330 day thing would work, but to no avail-- considering Allegiant when they open up, JetBlue, the Southwest madness-- you name it. Also tried www.itasoftware.com-- nothing nonstop under 500 something :rotfl2:
Any other tips you veteran flight watchers are willing to share? Thanks!

I am also looking for Pres. week - but from Hartford. We had Song this past year BDL-MCO for $115 each way. I would consider Boston but BDL is so much more convenient. We usually get dropped off at the airport. I've also been checking PVD for my sister's family. I can't seem to find any nonstop from PVD. I just don't know if I have it in me to do the Southwest wait. Did it 2 years ago - I think I was attached to the computer for 2 weeks for fear I'd miss the release. Any ideas would be great.

Hi All,

Just checked Travelocity, & the prices were down this AM for LGA to MCO President's Week.

Wanted to give you "HEADS UP"

Good Luck :wizard:
