 Are you out there in DIS-land?

Gosh, I really feel as though there are a lot of digital scrappers here on the DIS, not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just that I don't relate. I tried, made 2 layouts and continued with the traditional paper scrapping.

Now, had my computer not have crashed, and caused me to lose whatever program I was using I might have made more digital layouts. But this computer can be so unstable and it can be really frustrating when you have to reboot often because it freezes or does a physical memory dump...that and I don't think my shoulder could withstand the extended length of time sitting in front of the computer designing pages.

No worries, we are totally here!!!!

I don't really get digi scrapping either, it's nice and all but I really like the process of traditional scrapping.

I'm here, although I have done a few photobooks. I also still enjoy the process of traditional.:goodvibes

I find myself doing both; traditional for the the touch and feel aspect and digital for the trying something a little different. Any way I do it is therapy for me. :)

Do what works for you. :thumbsup2

I too only do traditional scrapbooking. I tried the digital but wasn't really impressed with it. Maybe I got the wrong program or something.... :confused3 I like the 12x12 size papers though and with digital, I can't really print that unless I buy a special printer or pay to have it printed. I like to have the page right in front of me and be able to move the stuff around and play with my options and be able to throw that page to the side and yet still see it while I am making another page. Call me crazy if you will! :lmao:
Right now I am working on my DS almost 1's scrapbook- I am about 3 months behind currently and in my DD8's I am about a year behind- wish me luck!

Have been tempted to try digi scrapping but it just doesn't seem right to me. I like the paper-in-hand process of traditional scrapping. Not that there's anything wrong with digital. I just don't think I have the same feel for it. Like the above posts said....there's a lot of us traditional scrappers on the swap board. Come on over and give us a shout. And by the way.....once you swap you can't stop! Love those swap gals! :rotfl:

I've been paper scrapping for nearly 10 years and just started digital in the last year. I'm probably 90% traditional and 10% digital. I enjoy the digital as something different, as a PP said; but I honestly find more joy in traditional paper scrapping.

Another traditional scrapbooker here....I tried digital scrapbooking but I prefer the look and feel of "paper" scrapbooking. Currently working on our DCL cruise from February 2009.

Paper scrapper here. i'd like to try digital but i have so much paper that trying digital seems overwhelming. Plus, I don't have the time right now to learn how to use it and that would just add stress. And I really enjoy touching and moving things by hand.

I am at a computer all day. The last thing I really want to do for my "me" time is deal with scrapping on it. I still prefer the hands on approach

Paperscrapper!:lovestruc Also working on a DCL cruise, only mine is 2007.
I dont think I would like digiscrapping.

I'm still here! I haven't done much scrapping in the last few months, but I hope to start back up soon......I did some shopping yesterday for paper and things, does that count??

I'm about 2 years or so behind in my family album, and I have a November 2008 WDW album that is partly done, and May 2009 WDW that I haven't gotten all of the pics printed for yet. I also discovered the other evening that we haven't gotten any pics except for WDW printed since Christmas 2007........

I think you see more of the digi scrapper stuff on here because it's much easier for them to showcase - it's already a file on the computer, they just have to get it on photobucket or something, which many of them do anyway. For us, you have to take a picture of your layout, get the pic on the computer and then get it on a sharing site. That's why until the 365 project I never showed my pages on here - too much darn work, and I don't really need photos of my pages of photos...also could be that since the DIS people are relatively tech savvy they lean more towards the digi stuff, I don't know. We are here tho! Maybe you just need to prod us to be a little louder. ;)

:goodvibes
Happy to "meet you all. I must say, most of you have the same reasons for paper scrapping as I do. I too am on a computer most of my day and then come home to catch up on personal stuff (email, budget, DIS, etc) for at least an hour on the home PC. The thought of spending a few hours at a time dragging and dropping doesn't appeal to me. My Disney layouts are 12x12, but I have used others sizes for other projects. As much as I like to look at layouts and pictures via digital medium, I still like to touch photos and share them with family and friends.

Another traditional paper scrapping checking in here! I convinced myself that if I got a laptop that I would start digi-scrapping (because I spend a lot of time away from home, sitting and waiting for my kids at sporting events). Well... I tried it and definitely didn't like it. I know that I got frustrated waaaaay too easily with the computer (I am not real computer savvy) and since scrapping is supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing, that was the end of that!! I've got exactly 4 digital pages (2 2 page layouts) done and in the books... oh well.

I'm SURE that if I got a better program and some RL tutoring, I would be okay with it. And it would sure make scrapping away from home MUCH easier. But I'm okay with how I work right now. I LOVE my paper......................P

I'm also a die-hard paper scrapper. Sure, I've made a few photobooks on Kodak, etc, but my scrapbooks are definitely paper. Besides, I have WAY too many supplies to start digi-scrapping now!!:rotfl2:
