Hey Texans!!! Need some advice...

I think Fort Worth is the better tourist city. The Fort Worth zoo is WAAYYY better than Dallas. I have been to several zoos across the country, and the Dallas Zoo is the crappiest by far. The Fort Worth Stockyards is a great way to get some Texas history and culture.

I have lived in DFW for 7 years, and I kind of think it sucks as a whole on tourist stuff, so don't get your hopes up too much. I don't think it's a very fun area to visit and actually do things, unless you just want to shop and eat. But I say this after having lived in Chicago for 20 years prior.

Just a heads up - Six Flags is not open year round. I didn't see what time of year the OP is going to be here. There are usually discounts for Six Flags on Coke cans or at the grocery store.

We took DS to Medieval Times for his birthday last year. It was fun, but it was disorganized and the food was just so-so. They were running a deal where the kids ate free with a paid adult and it was still expensive. :scared:

I think Rainforest Cafe is a tourist trap. Go in and look around, then eat somewhere else!

The Ft. Worth Zoo is VERY nice. The Dallas Zoo is old and they struggle for funding so it isn't as nice, but we like it anyway.

The Dallas World Aquarium is awesome.

The Dallas Museum of Art is cool, and they have special things for kids on select days. Check their website.

The Crow Asian Art Museum is also very cool, and the Nasher Sculpture Center is right there, too.
