Just curious as to how the cow belling went. Any other spectator groups, participants or WDW officials WISHing there were more cow bells on the course? I haven't seen any cow beller trip/event reports yet.

I don't know how it went for the 1/2 but I know that for the full in front of the BC at mile 24.5 to 25 Krista and I rang ours for hours, literally.:cool1: I know we were driving the poor people around there crazy but I just know those poor tired atheletes really needed that lift at that point in the race.:cheer2:

Our fingers were raw, but it was worth it. Then when Steve and Mlsrob (can't remember name - met sooo many people) got done running they collected their medal and proceeded to join us where we rang those dang bells and cheered until the very last and I MEAN LITERALLY the very last athelete went by with the sweeper bikes. He was the cutest little older gentleman with a younger girl from TNT. They smiled at us and thanked us as so many people did.

It felt so good to be there!!! We had lots of cowbell and I think I might take my own on the course when I do the full next year :rotfl:

My husband and the rest of my family were at AK with the cowbells. He said that while they were there someone ran by and screamed "We need more cowbell!!". I actually heard cowbells through the entire course. Looks like everyone had the same general idea!!

Maybe we'll have to have one of our WISH engineering-types develop a fuel belt-cowbell attachment that we could market to raise team funds. You may be on to something as to carrying the cowbells as runners/walkers. It will help people find us if we get lost, we could use them to motivate/annoy other event participants and scare away boogie-men at the Tower of Terror event. Just think of the possibilities.

Funny you should mention that, Bill. I just bought a bear bell! :lmao: I thought of wearing it in races just for fun! It isn't nearly as large as a cowbell or even a sheep bell (they look like smallish cowbells) it's more like a really big sturdy jingle bell. It wouldn't drive me totally crazy! :upsidedow I got it for a whole $2 bill!

I loved the cowbells - I rang 2 of them for hours at AK as well.
I also had one runner yell "we need more cowbell" at me! :rotfl:
I am so saving mine for next year.
Hmmm....maybe I better get more at Target for '09...

I couldn't find any cowbells at my local Target, but there was a whole table of them at the Pop meeting so I was able to get two. I rang them non-stop for the half-marathon behind the Poly. My son had to move away because his ears were ringing so bad and I noticed that even Maharae (Anne) moved a little bit aside. The next day I had blisters on both hands from all the ringing....but it was worth it!

Krista and I were in Epcot in Germany last night and saw they had the "real" cowbells (you know, the really big loud obnoxious ones) for sale. Too bad we didn't find those last Friday before the races. ;)

My little sister said that she saw a man come through the finish carrying one of those sharpie signs that said "I need cowbell" It got everyone in the stands screaming again.

I heard cowbells the entire way. They were great.

As I rounded the very first curve before Mile 1 I heard cowbells - the whole way down the ramp - it made me smile, and kept me going at a great pace!! Those cowbells turned out to be white - but every time I heard cowbells, I knew it was the spirit of the WISH boards!!!

So when I went to MK at mile 10 (I didnt see any other crazy WISH'ers screamin - so I screamed and jumped louder, and often those around me joined in, including the dear Suffracates) I RANG AND RANG and jumped and shouted - I never stopped that ringing, and tried to read names of anyone that didnt have earbuds in - and towards the end, I read lots of names and encouraged LOTS of people that looked like me running the half, near dead on their feet wondering if they would make it before the sweepers!!

When I got to EPCOT I positioned myself right under the monorail line, next to the lake, knowing there would be a great echo there, and the runners could here COWBELL all the way to MEXICO!!

COWBELLS WERE AWESOME!!

(anybody elses wrist feel a little crampy sore??? LOL)

I still have the sores on my fingers from ringing the cowbells on Saturday and Sunday, but it was worth it! I also got a major headache on Saturday due to all the ringing, but by Sunday I was used to it. I had at least 10 people yell "I need more cowbell" at me during the races. Very cool. Although a couple of runners had whistles for the 1/2, and they were really loud. Hmm . . . :lmao:
