When & what DVC resort is you reservation for?
When were you able book it?
Did you use the ongoing search option to obtain it?

I've been trying for a couple of months now and nothing seems to be coming up in WDW. Just seeing what kind of luck others are having... :confused3

I Have both Wyndham RCI and RCI Points and have noticed the same thing NO Disney to be had for quite some time and the last time there was any Disney it was all studios &
1bd. Last year Disney was there daily and I even saw 3bd twice. Has Disney decided not to give to RCI anymore????

Oh yes forgot to mention, I have had an on going search since the end of November for a Disney 2BD any WDW resort and no luck yet :(

I think TUG would be a much better place to post this question. Over there, you are likely to attract a much broader range of expertise. They also have a "sightings" board that lists daily exactly the kind of info you seek.

I've seen a lot the last month or so. Even a grand villa. Maybe you have just been missing them?

I am an RCI weeks member and I rented in Nov for a week in may. A studio at old key west. I have continued to look and i have seen lots for old key west and Saratoga Springs. I have seen a few 1 bedroom and an occasional 2 bedroom. Most are 24-27 value. These two usually have the most availability over the other resorts...

We rented a studio at BCV through an RCI exchange last June. There were more for other resorts and lots of studios, but fewer larger units. I "stalked" the exchanges for a long time. Look about 11 months out....it worked for us at about 10 months out.

I have had some success with this but it is a combination of luck and perserverence. I just checked daily at different times and was a little flexible on dates and resorts. I have gotten AKL, Boardwalk and OKW.

We currently have a search going right now. When we followed up with RCI they told us that Disney is open to them through June. We are also waiting on a response on exchanging a week for the Disney cruise. I think we'll have a response on that faster than the DVC room.

I had 4 ongoing searches on for DVC for June. The first 3 were started in March/April and I got 3 hits in December: OKW, BWV, OKW respectively.
My 4th RCI week search didn't start until October and it's for the last week in June. I haven't received ANY hits for that search.:(
I have checked daily too and see very little to NO availability at any of the resorts for any month.
there has been weeks from April-July noted when they do show up but rarely if ever a 2 BR.
I am a TUG member too and there is a sightings board for members and it's only $15. Very informative forum.
Good luck, hope we both have some luck and get some pixie dust thrown our way for our searches.

We are trying to use my parents' RCI points for DVC in the beginning of November this year. So far...no good. I don't see any availability at all. For those who do see, or have seen, some availability, is it with weeks or points? And those who have had success, did you find your resort and book online or on the phone?

thanks and good luck to everyone trying!

There was a deposit within the last day or so for May to late July or so, basically all on property resorts (didn't look at non WDW resorts) and both weeks and points. It's likely most availability that does come on board for that time will do so starting at around 7 months out, maybe early April to May at the earliest. I don't think the RCI weeks inventory will be open to you looking with RCI points.

I've had good luck the last two years trading into DVC through rci. Got a 2br at OKW last July, and I just exchanged for a1br at BLT starting July 7th this summer.
I am methodical at checking the inventory at RCI. 7 months out seems to be the timetable. They usually stock a bunch of units at one time, and they go quickly. When you get close, start checking Monday morning. The units sometimes show up around 9:30am, I've seen other weeks where they show up at 1:30.
When I booked a couple of weeks ago, there was nothing until Wednesday around 1:30, then there were units at every resort available.
When you get close to 7 months, start checking RCI every 15 minutes or half hour at least. They'll be there, but not for long.

I had been looking during the day yesterday, until I went to make dinner around 6 pm...and nothing! Interesting that they were deposited in the evening.... I'm glad tho that I finally see SOMETHING on there! Thanks for the heads up :)

Another question tho....Do they allow renting two 1BRs if I can't locate a 2BR? (I realize they may not be next to or near each other.)

Yes they do, I answered this on your other post. Depending on the group, even different resorts sometimes work out, we've done this several times, esp BCV & BWV.

One of the important factors in getting a DVC resort is to set up an ongoing search at least 8 months or more before your desired check in.
I have always been able to get an exchange into DVC when I set up early searches and also by diligently checking RCI inventory. I have Wyndham and RCI weeks I use.
This year I have a 2 bedroom at Boardwalk Villas and another 2 bedroom at AKV for June. Both units matched ongoing searches during December 2012. :)
