Hi Sandy,
I love Va Beach. I have been here since I was 7 years old. I wouldn't trade it for any other place in the world. I like that there are plenty of things to do around here. We have not only theme parks but we have many historical sites that you can visit. The schools in Va Beach are really good, I don't know much about the schools in Newport News. I do know that there is a great restaurant in NN that I love. It is Rock 'Ola Cafe. They have the best loaded cheese fries!!
I don't go down to the beach much, because I am not a beach bunny. But it is beautiful!! I think you would love it if you moved to this area. I'm a single mom too and there are plenty of men, however, most of them seem too young to me! hehehe
