Hey Mom, Do I get to be the line leader again? A PTR…(My TR has started! - 6/1)

I call it the last day blues. This is usually the day that I start planning our next trip in my mind. Man! I'm getting bummed just thinking about it. I'll think about our first day instead!

Ooo! I love the cliffhanger as well! Can't wait to hear more!

I can't believe how uncrowded AK looks that morning! I'm curious to see if it stayed that way.

Megan and I are both in the same boat--that's why we get along. We are both short and the only females in our houses. :rotfl: Chase is taller than his Mommy and now is in the same size shoe as his dear Daddy. He's a big kid--and he doesn't turn 13 until the end of May. Zach eats us out of house and home at 7, just like Chase did, so I'm sure he'll be a big guy too. Z can't wait til he's taller than me. I'm the shortest in my house and my entire family. My mom is 5"9 and she has nephews that are 6'5 and 6'6. I always looked like I didn't belong to my own family.:lmao:Which sometimes wasn't a bad thing--I DON'T KNOW THOSE PEOPLE--:lmao:

The height issue is so funny to me! Im 4'11! My daughter is 7 and wears my shoes and is only about 6 inches shorter than me........I can see her passing me by within the next year:eek:

It does suck. I get really sad that last day. Bryan a lot of times reminds me where we are and that I should be happy that we get to take trips like this so often.

I'll do another update sometime today. It's really good!

It wasn't bad at all. We had no problem going where we wanted to that day. Truthfully, I think a lot of people were "scared" away because it was Gay Days. I learned a lesson that day. It's a great day to visit.

Yeah, us short, lonesome gals got to stick together over here! I am dreading the day that the boys are taller than I am. I know it will happen.

:scared1:

My grandmother was 4'11". SHe used to always argue with us that she was 5'2" (like me). SHe eventually told us that the tape measure must have shrunk because she knew how tall she was.

Hey Megan . I thought I had posted on your PTR before, but I guess I am getting forgetful in my old age :rolleyes1. I am up to page 33 on your PTR so far and I love it. Your boys are too cute :cutie:.

Hey Dana! Thanks for coming over. I realized the other day that we post a lot to the same PTRs, and I hadn't checked yours out yet either. I need to do that soon. I actually have extra time this week.

Megan, sounds like a nice start to the day...how sad that the boys were bummed about realizing it was their last day!

Hi Megan! I got the chance to read your PTR today and I can't wait to hear more! I see you got to check out the Dreams Come True exhibit at NOMA. I'm sad I missed it. I had wanted to go and then forgot all about it. :sad2: (BTW-Love Zea's!!:lovestruc)
Loved the crawfish boil pics also! That's what we plan on having this weekend and I'm sooooo looking forward to it!! :cool1:
I saw you mention kid swap a couple times. Can you explain to me how it works? Our upcoming trip will be our first time trying it out and I think I know how it works, but I'm not sure.

Woooooo hooooo I did it, I did it :woohoo::yay:. I'm all caught up :dance3:.

First, congrats on losing weight :thumbsup2. I am working on that same goal right now.

Second, ya'll will love the Battleship. If we weren't going to still be in Disney we could have a meet up there. Ya'll need to eat at Felix's, the Original Oyster House or Bimini Bob's-- all have very good seafood and they are all near the Battleship.

Your TR is so good. We always get that "last day depression" too. I really need to get down to the day to day planning of our trip. We usually just go with the flow. I can't wait to read about the ending of the last day:surfweb:.

I know. I hate how the traditions we have made also make them realize how our trip is coming to an end. I know one day they will not be as thrilled to be having dinner at Chef Mickey's to say good-bye, but I love it right now. They talk to the characters and all. They tell them good-bye, and the characters react so sad.

Thanks for coming read! The exhibit was so nice! I'm glad we got the chance to view it. We'll be back at Zea's in a couple of weeks. Bryan wants to head out there for his bday dinner. I love me some grits over there. We're doing another boil this weekend as well. It's so yummy!

Kid swap - Cooper is too short to ride a few rides, so we go to a CM at the ride of choice. Some places require to present the child that is too small, some places don't. The CM gives us a rider swap ticket. Every time we did it, the CM directed us to the FP line to use our Rider Swap. Where the CM takes your FP, you hand them the rider swap ticket as well. You ride with up to three other people. When you get off, the other parent rides using their rider swap ticket with up to three other people. I have seen other people here on the DIS explain it as they were going through the normal line, but the CM at TT, Soarin, and BTMRR all directed us in the manner I described above. I hope that helps!

YAY Dana! I'll be starting to read yours tonight. Hopefully, I'll be done sometime tomorrow.

Thanks! Good luck to you on your weight loss as well.

We're hoping to get to the battleship on our way back. As of right now, my sister thinks she is going to have to work on that Saturday. If she is working, we'll have to get to the battleship aother day. If she is off, we'll be stopping in Mobile. I'll keep your recommended restaurants in mind for when we do get there.

That last day depression really sucks. I'm getting to the continuation. Thanks! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying my little story.

When I left off, we were walking up to the rope at the Tree of Life. Our plan for the morning was for us to head over to the Safari first. Neither of the boys are tall enough to ride Everest, so it wasn’t even on the radar for the day. We had our moment when we went to EMH with the Boquets. Today was all about what the boys wanted to do at our favorite park on our last day.

Well, we get to the rope, and Sam says hello to one of the CMs at the rope. I have always taught Sam to feel comfortable talking to the CMs so that if he ever gets lost he knows how to identify a CM. He introduced himself, and the CM did the same. His name was Noah. Sam even told him that he learned about him in his religion class at school. He asked him if he likes animals just as much as Noah from the Bible. He told him yes, and then introduced to his friend Pam. They talked for a couple of minutes, and then it happened.

Noah asked Sam if he wanted to be the very first person to ride the Safari today. Sam said that would be cool. He then asked how he would feel if he got to carry the rope all the way to the Safari. Sam’s response? “You mean I get to the be the line leader for EVERYBODY here!!!” Pam and Noah told him absolutely. He gave them an emphatic YES!!!! So, on our last day at WDW last summer on our last park day, we were chosen to be the Safari First Family of the Day!!!

Pam and Noah brought us across the rope for a front row view of the rope drop ceremony. Sam was beyond excited to stand in front of everyone else. Once the ceremony ended, we were off with Pam and Noah walking the crowd all the way to the rope at Africa. Once we got to Africa, Pam and Noah brought us through the exit to get on a Safari vehicle of our choice. We had a truck all to ourselves with our own personal driver. It was the perfect beginning to the last day.

Not a whole lot of pictures from the experience…but we have video!

By the time we got to walking to the safari, my arm was killing me so I had to let Cooper walk on his own. Poor thing couldn't keep up though.

Next, our own safari ride! Plus, the magic is not over yet!

For a day that started off so sad, these two CMs just made all that sadness go away.
