Hey Mom, Do I get to be the line leader again? A PTR…(My TR has started! - 6/1)

Just found your TR/PTR. I see that you are from Houma. We live close by in Golden Meadow. Crazy finding someone on here who lives so close. Love your PTR so far.

Hi and :welcome:! How crazy to find someone so close here on the DIS! Thanks for joining me over here.

So, when are yall heading to Sanaa? We'll be there on Tuesday night after BB.

Just to clarify...Alisa and I don't sit and make fun of every person who walks by. We only point out to Randy and Bryan the ones who are really OMG worthy.

You got it! He was fine if we would have done it as a girls trip or with all of us together. He's not as gung-ho about this as I am. To him...it's going to an art museum.

Yeah.. he actually made the comment to me the other day at the gym.. he blamed ME for him having to go.. he said he was counting on me to refuse, so he would get out of it.. Too bad, Bryan.. we are going!!! Looking forward to it!!! We'll meet you at Sonny's around 1 to 1:15 tomorrow!

So, we got a little bit of a Disney fix today. Today, Bryan & I, along with Randy & Alisa and Stacey & Sonny (SIL & BIL) drove to New Orleans today to view the Disney Dreams Come True exhibit at the New Orleans Museum of Art. We had so much fun. There's nothinig like spending the afternoon/evening with family to put a smile on my face. Even though, we are not truly related to Randy and Alisa, they are our family.

In my house, we all selpt in this morning. Neither Bryan nor I had been sleeping well throughout the week, so we needed this morning. Bryan and I woke up around 9. It was wonderful. We stayed in bed. The kids were still asleep. We were able to talk about the fun we had at his siter's house the night before and our plans for the day in peace and quiet. It was short-lived, however. Sam woke up at 9:30 and hopped into bed with us to watch some TV. I had to wake up Cooper an hour later. He must have been really tired. Have I mentioned before that my children have no problems sleeping?

I got the boys and myslef ready for the day. The boys were packed because they are spending the night at my mom & dad's house, and we were off. I brought them to lunch at McDonald's on our way to my parent's. Boy, were they slow today! We ended up having just enough time to eat, play, and drop off the boys to be at Sonny & Stacey's house for 1:30 as planned.

The drive into New Orleans was uneventful. However, we see this line of people waiting to get into the museum as we drove up. The guys kept asking what's up with all the people. Well, it's the weekend boys.

Randy did catch a picture of the sign at the gate as we drove by.

We all made sure we had our LA driver's licenses to get our resident discount, and we were ready to go.

This is the last picture I was able to get.

After about a 20 minute wait in line, we were in. The exhibit was really nice. Your little listening device had narration by John Goodman. The exhibits were the actual pencil drawings of the early cartoons like the Ugly Duckling, the Pied Piper, and the Threee Little Pigs. AFter that you went into individul fairytale rooms for the princesses. However, I did notice that they left out Jasmine. The audio guide told you of their thoughts on how they designed the characters, the difficulty in inking a feature film, etc. It was really nice. They had the resin sculptures of the characters from The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, and the Princess & The Frog on display. Just to see the detail that was put in to it all was great.

We made a pit stop in the gift shop on our way out. I picked up a catalog of the exhibit for $10.

Here's the brochure and a couple of pages from the catalog to show.

After the museum, we headed to our favorite restaurant in NO for dinner - Zea's. The guys had a close meal...

Wow, that exhibit sounds wonderful! I wish they could have something like that here. At the Museum of Modern Art right now in NYC, they have a Tim Burton exhibit. I know many of my friends want to go to that, but it doesn't really float my boat. I would much rather go to the one you went to!

It really was wonderful! I kept joking that we were getting our fix for the day. At one point, Randy was walking around singing "Be Our Guest."

Yay for sleeping in and a parents only Disney day! Looks like a fun time all around!

Hey Megan!
so happy to hear you guys all enjoyed your Disney fix and adult day! you did a wonderful job recapping! and WHOA! on the line...here I thought we had a lot of people the day we went!

Wow, that would be so much fun to go to! Do you know if it is a traveling exhibit? Wish something cool like that would come here!

We certainly enjoyed our day. It was a lot of fun. Wouldn't you know while waiting in line, Alisa and I decided to people watch. We found a woman who was obviously running in City Park for a reason other than fitness. She was swaying those hips hoping for someone to notice her.

The line wasn't horrible. It moved pretty well.

Except for Sonny eating his salad and Bryan's normal mug shot, the picture came out well.

I don't know if it is a traveling exhibit. I know it was sent to New Orleans kind of as a gift because of the location of the Princess & The Frog.

One more bit of planning done today. Disney released the golf rates for our trip. I went ahead and booked a tee time for Bryan and Sonny on our last morning. They wanted to play at the Magnolia, but i was down for the week for aeration. They got a tee time at the Palm for 7 AM.

Randy - I booked the tee time for 3 people to include Frog. If he decides to not play with them, we need to have them cancel Frog's position by May 25th. The price is $89.

I'm sorry to say that Megan is correct this was sent to NOMA as a gift as the only location in North America (is how the local news phrased it) that was granted the show. I believe I heard something of it traveling to Paris from here.:confused3 Maybe it will return somewhere in the states soon...since it was such a hit.

Oh yeah.. I really enjoyed it!!! If you liked this, then you HAVE to go see "One Man's Dream" at DHS.. the exhibit reminded me of that. Alisa and I had a wonderful time!!!

I will let Frog know about it ASAP!!!

Only 10 weeks away now

The exhibit at the museum looks fantastic! Oh how I wish I lived close so I could check it out. It looks to be right up my alley. :thumbsup2 Congrats on getting your golf outing booked. I'm feeling much better after this weekend and I'm ready to do some serious planning! :goodvibes

I know. I keep telling Bryan we need to stop in One Man's Dream, but it always get pushed down the list. I'm glad yall had a great day with us.

Thanks! Bryan had to remind me about Frog. I actually started making the tee time for 2 people. Bryan was a little upset about not being able to play on the Magnolia, but I reminded him they are both excellent courses.

I know! It is getting so close. I get my last group of students on Friday for the remainder of the school year. I am currently trying to see if I can skip out of here on records day around 12:30 to get out of town faster. I'd rather be ahead of traffic going through the tunnel in Mobile.

It was. I wish I had remember to post it on here earlier. It would have given yall more time to come down here to NO to view it.;)

Thanks! That was the last thing we were waiting to book. Bryan feels so much better now that it is done.

I'm glad Joe helped you out in making the decision to keep the ressie at the Poly. I'm sure it made you feel better knowing he was okay with it.

Yay for a fun Disney day! And congrats on the running! You are awesome! :goodvibes
