Hey Mom, Do I get to be the line leader again? A PTR…(My TR has started! - 6/1)

Let me know when the Boquet's can bring the latest epic over so we can all enjoy and laugh!!!

Hey all! We have been a bit busy over here the last few days. I hope everyone's year has gotten off to a great start! Cooper is doing well. He is still hacking up a lung, but that is normal for us. Both boys are not too happy about having to go back to school tomorrow, but they will learn to deal with it. Sam's birthday is on Saturday, so I have been sending out invites and what not to get ready for his party. On my end, with school starting again, I have been cleaning and doing laundry to make my life easier when I go back. My kitchen table and coffee table are filled with folded clothes that need to be put away.

BTW, if any of you are looking for a good movie to see with your DH for a date night, I highly recommend going see It's Complicated. Alisa (Randy's wife) and I saw it last night. It was absolutely HILARIOUS!!!! Sooo funny and soooo good. Thanks for the fun, Alisa!

Back to my regularly scheduled cleaning, laundry, and groceries....

We're not too excited about going back to work and school tomorrow either. I've been doing the same-trying to get everything under control and organized before the mayhem starts again. Hope the first day back tomorrow is fairly painless. Glad to hear that Cooper is feeling better. I hate it when the kids are sick. Have a great day Megan!

My attempts to catch the leaping water in a photo at the Imagination fountains ended up like Bryan's. :rotfl:
And I'm with Sam - I didn't like the stink room either!

Real life update here...Cooper has tonisilitis AGAIN!!! He has this every couple of months. He also gets an upper respiratory infection every month, maybe month and a half. His chart is filled with descriptions of his tonsils every time being at least 3 times the normal size. Because of this, the doctor suggested that it may be timie to take out his tonsils. He said we're not jumping the gun yet, but I think if he gets sick a couple more times and the tonsils are still enlarged we might end up doing it. I'll keep you all updated as we go along.

Hope Cooper is feeling OK now!

I struggled with constant strep throats and tonsillitis all throughout my life. I had grossly enlarged tonsils, and then when I was 21, my mom finally said...."well why don't you get your tonsils removed?". Duh. Makes me resent my pediatrician....why didn't he have the idea??

I saw an ear, nose, and throat specialist and he thought it was a good idea, so I did it. The recovery was awful.....but it was totally worth it! I haven't had a single strep throat in 4 years, and I rarely get sick at all now.

The doctor said that the older you are, the harder the recovery is, so if Cooper keeps getting sick, I would highly recommend a tonsillectomy while he's still young!

Only one thing bad about having the best Christmas Vacation perhaps ever.. and spending all kinds of great quality time with my family and friends...

The first day back to work!!!! YUK!!!!

I hope your first day back is going better for you, Megan!!!

Hi Megan,

Hope the first day back at school was a fun one...(hope this semester goes by quickly).

Sorry to hear Cooper is under the weather...we had Gwendolyn's tonsils removed at age 6...best decision I could have made for her. The peds did not want to remove them; but, after watching her wither (she could not swallow large pieces of food, she would chew and spit it out) I finally took her to an ENT and he said she would definately benefit from the removal...she gain 10#'s in a month.

won't be long now...Disney will be right around the corner!!! :yay:
happy planning
:wave2:

When I left off, Bryan, the boys, and I were eating lunch at Sunshine Seasons. I wanted to ride Soarin with Sam, but he did not want to ride again.

After eating, I told Sam that we needed to go to the bathroom. We went, and I quickly jumped in the Fastpass line with him. He was not happy with me that he was riding again, but he likes to ride it. He ended up having a really great time. After riding, we went back to our table at Sunshine Seasons and found Cooper like this.

I cleaned off the table, and we decided since Cooper was sleeping that we would go on something pretty quiet and calm. Perfect! We were right next to Living with the Land, so we hopped right on. Cooper slept for the first 5 minutes.

After we finished Living with the Land, we brought the boys over to Innoventions. Neither one of them had ever been there before, so we were looking forward to letting them explore a bit. The boys ended up loving it! They made their Velcro frogs. They also took part in their own video game. Their favorite part was the part where you had to put the fires out in the house. Bryan and Sam were on one team. Cooper and I were on another team. We had these little guns that we had to point at the screen and keep pressing a button to put out the fire. Cooper and I ended up winning! Sam was not too happy about that.

Sam was upset about losing, so Bryan suggested that we head back to Kidani. We ended up heading toward the gates when Cooper said he wanted to ride Spaceship Earth. Sam didn’t, so they explored the shops a bit while Cooper and I rode. We found them afterwards sitting on a bench eating a Mickey ice cream sandwich. We took a few Flower & Garden Festival pictures and a couple of Photopass pictures before we left.

I promise to come back tomorrow to do some personals everybody. I am just so tired and soooooo freezing right now. Have I mentioned that I hate winter? It's a good thing I don't live anywhere north of here because I would die if it were any colder.

The first day back was good. I can always count on a great day when I have students for the first time. They don't want to rock the boat too much. I have a couple of repeat kids that failed last semester who are with me again, but they are all separated now. Things will hopefully be better.

I know I am lagging behind on all of your trip reports. I promise to stop by one day this week to check in and see what's going on. Hopefully a lot of you were able to take advantage of the recent discounts.

Good night all!

Beautiful F&G pictures. With it being done before we get there I don't know if I will recognize EPCOT. The last four trips have been during F&G. We love Living with the Land. It's relaxing and quiet. A perfect ride to wind down a little.

Glad the first day back wasn't too bad. :goodvibes

Yet another reason why I love Disney... I don't think our boys have had a chance to check out innoventions, or figment.. etc.. yet.. so we'll just have to put that down on our "to do list" for a future trip!

I still have not adjusted well to life back at school... being at Disney, and the extra days off have really got me depressed coming back to work... I'm hoping I can snap out of it quickly..

I'll be thinking about you tonight Megan when I'm on the sidelines for 5 hours in this cold!!!

Love the update.. nice pics.. always amazes me how they can make all those cool flowers and stuff.

Have a good day everyone!!!

Ooooh--I just LOVE Soarin! It is one of my favorite rides in all of WDW!! :lovestruc

It is my favorite as well. My SIL got me a gift basket of products from Bath & Body Works in the Rainkissed Leaves scent. It smells just like one of the scents on SOarin - the one over water. When I put my lotion on every night, Bryan leans over and tells me I smell like Soarin.:goodvibes

Hi! Megan
sounds like a really fun and full Christmas!!! :yay:
and a bday in two weeks...wow!

your DHS day looks well thought out...and I love the update on the TR! I love the picture of your DS with his back to the camera and no one else in the shot (I'm a sucker for shots of the back :confuesd3 -- don't know why--it's like you caught them on a secret enjoying something all alone)!

Welcome back! Randy sounds like a great time can't wait to hear more!!!
:wave2: Connie

Christmas was a lot of fun. Sam is getting super-excited for Saturday. Wouldn't you know we're likely to have record cold on his birthday?

I'm a sucker for lone child back pictures as well. They look so innocent.

I don't remember much from the Figment play area (other than doing the Melody Maker but having to move quickly because someone at the other one had bad body odor!). I have to explore those play areas more! My dad usually doesn't have patience for them, but everything at Disney has to be fun!

Sam loves the Melody Maker. My favorite thing about WDW is the ability to be able to explore and find new things every time you visit. It amazes me how much there is to do.

Great update Megan. We need to take the time to check out Journey into the Imagination. Sadly, my girls have never been in there. :sad2: I'm hoping that Josie grows another 1.5 inches so she can ride Soarin' this year. I know she will love it if the poor thing would just grow a little. I'm looking for some Sketcher Shape Ups in a toddler size 8.....:rotfl2:

My boys had not been in there either, but they ended up really liking it. We did a measuring session the other day with the boys. Cooper measured in at 39", and Sam measured in at 47". Both boys have only one inch to grow to meet their marks in May.

Good to see your plans for DHS. I haven't done mine yet, so I can steal from yours!! LOL- I'm still officially planning our drive down there! I have to do my stuff one day at a time, in order and until I decide for sure where to stop, I just can't get past it!! I'm now leaning towards stopping in a little town called Defuniak Springs, FL. From the map, it says it's 318 miles from our door, so about 5 hours. Then, another 383 from there to AKV! If we leave no later than 6, we'd get there by 11 and could sleep and still get to AKV earlier than I originally planned. Since you drive- what do you think?

Steal away dear! We're all here to help each other in one or another. The drive split sounds good to me.

Hi Randy's wife,Alisa here: When Chase was a baby we left after work and stopped for the night at Defuniak Springs. It was a good place to stop since Chase had had enough of the car seat. I'll always remember that town because I ended up taking Chase to the ER because he had a bad case of the croup that no matter what I did just didn't help. The hospital had about 3 beds in their ER. Very small. I sent payments to that little hospital for months after, so the name of the town sticks with me.

What a memory!

Thanks for that info. DH had just decided that we'd drive straight through and then read your post. Now he's thinking maybe the baby won't want to spend all night in a carseat. I wonder what would be worse- car seat all night while he should sleep or sleep in a hotel and carseat while awake? He's not great awake in a carseat, but does sleep well in one. I'm leaning towards driving all night as he doesn't sleep well in a bed that isn't his crib, either.

Decisions, decisions...I have always told Bryan that we have lucked out having two kids who travel EXTREMELY well in the car. If I were to ask Bryan, he would tell you to drive all through the night. That was the quietest car ride we have ever had. Cooper slept all but maybe 90 minutes of the trip.

Great update! I am so hoping tha Cayley is tall enough for Soarin. She and Josie will be the kiddos in high heel flip flops :rotfl2:

They'll just be little fashionistas!

Aww, poor Cooper! I hope things get better or a decision is made easily as to what to do. I'll be thinking of you guys!

He is feeling ten times better right now. I am guessing the recommendation to remove the tonsils will be made the next time he is sick, which will probably be in the next month if I am a betting woman.

Happy New Year, Megan!! :goodvibes

A bit late, but Happy New Year to you as well.

Poor Cooper. :sad2: I only had tonsilitis a few times as a child and it is no fun. We'll be thinking of your little guy.

Hope you have a Happy New Year Megan!

The funny is the doctor has also told me that my tonsils are unusually large, but I never had problems with them. We had a great new year. Thanks!

Happy New Year. Sorry for the sick kiddo.

Hope you had a happy new year as well. Thanks!

So, how was school and work yesterday for you? My day was pretty good...just really tired.

LOL!!! It always seems like those types of pictures never end up like you hope! I know it would be easier on him now to get them taken out. Unless he has a miraculous recovery from these problems, I know we'll be getting them removed. Now, I need to find out if getting the adenoids taken out too would be better. I know that they are often taken out together. Need to do my research.

Only one thing bad about having the best Christmas Vacation perhaps ever.. and spending all kinds of great quality time with my family and friends...

The first day back to work!!!! YUK!!!!

I hope your first day back is going better for you, Megan!!!

It always sucks having to go back to school/work after a long holiday. Mine was good. How was yours?

Hi Megan,

Hope the first day back at school was a fun one...(hope this semester goes by quickly).

:wave2:

Glad to hear about Gwendolyn's tonsilectomy success! Do you remember how long her recovery time was? I'm just trying to figure some things out. I put the dates for the remainder of the school year on my board - report cards, holidays, progress reports, exams, etc. The last date on there is "May 21st - Mrs. Trahan and her family leave for WDW at 2:30 after posting your report card grades." It will be here before we know it!

Beautiful F&G pictures. With it being done before we get there I don't know if I will recognize EPCOT. The last four trips have been during F&G. We love Living with the Land. It's relaxing and quiet. A perfect ride to wind down a little.

Glad the first day back wasn't too bad. :goodvibes

Thanks! I was so upset to hear that it was ending a full week before we got there. I can only hope that the topiaries take a bit longer to come down. If not, there's always another year.

Love the update.. nice pics.. always amazes me how they can make all those cool flowers and stuff.

Have a good day everyone!!!

Put it on that list dude...I am amazed at hearing some of the things yall haven't done yet. I am sure there are plenty of things we haven't done yet that would amaze yall as well.

Yeah...you need to get over that soon. Otherwise, it will be one long wait till May. I know yall have the Universal trip in the meantime, bubt it'll still seem long.

I hope you are enjoying that cold. I'm sitting in my house with the heater on.

So, Randy, Alisa, and the boys came over to the house on Sunday to let us watch the DVD from the CHristmas trip. It was really good! It looks like they had a great time.

Randy - If you want, you can go ahead and share some pics from the trip. Share the magic! BTW, I was thinking of you tonight as Bryan and I watched the premiere of The Biggest Loser.

Well, we are having record-breaking cold here in South Louisiana. Normal highs for this time of year here is somewhere between 41-61. Our high for Saturday - Sam's birthday - is around 35. I think the strawberry crops may have issues this year. Wouldn't you know as well, that the heater at school was broken yesterday and was fixed during lunch today. It has been freezing for the past 2 days.

Love the pics from the F&G festival. I am sad it will beover when we get there. Stay warm! We are unseasonably warm in Az-it was 72 degrees today

I've never done or even seen the place that has those Velcro frogs. I will definitely be on a lookout for those. My younger brother and DBF will love those. I think even my mom will love it because she used to take care of my older brother's frog when he was dorming for college. Haha, my brother dormed, not the frog :goodvibes

Hi Megan! Glad to see you're back. :goodvibes The first day back to work was okay, hectic but okay. First day back to school....UGHHH- so much homework this week! I'm doing well though and getting good grades. I might be old but I can still do this college thing. :rotfl2:

How we doing Randy? Any better on the funk? Post-Disney depression stinks. I get it every time-the whole family does. Like Megan said, you just have to get over it as quickly as possible. There's quite a way to go until the next trip. Can't wait to see those Christmas pics. :goodvibes
