Hey Mom, Check out my new Spider-Man move! (Last day & Final Thoughts - 1/10)

The Darth Vader voice for your GPS is too funny! I had no idea you could get such a thing!

I think most of us probably have that same rule. Mine will still say, "I don't have to." AND of course we say, "Well, go try!" :rotfl:

Yep, you can purchase a voice. They email it to you and download to your GPS. It doesn't give specific things like road names, but it's pretty cool.

Do we travel in the same vehicle? My kids say the same thing!

Wow, I just got back and you are on page nine already!! I'm impressed! I sympathize about the I-10 part. From the Florida line to I-75, it seems endless! I'm looking forward to hearing all about it, in-between washing clothes, cleaning house, and catching up!!

Great start Megan!! You can see the excitement in the kid's faces! :goodvibes

My dad says he puts the cow sound on the GPS whenever you pass a restaurant just for the kids. But my mom and I know he enjoys it more than them! :rotfl2:

Love the Darth voice! I wonder if Danny would appreciate that one--he hates the female voice on the Garmin when she tells you you are off course and need to turn around. Love the Spidey web slinger to cute! I have not given in to the Spider man and Bat man thing with Ashton yet but I think Danny and Dayne are getting close

:wave2: Connie

Don't know if Garmin has the Vader voice. I'm sure they have some on their website for purchase just like TomTom. The one I bought was through TomTom.

Give in to the web slinging. COme on. It's fun for Cooper. I can't imagine him without it now.

Oh my gosh, Hannibal's voice guiding you. That would be so creepy yet AWESOME

I have to check out what other voices they have. This is just too cool.

But, wouldn't you pay attention to Lecter instructions? I love it!

I know they had a Simpsons voice. I thought Snoop Dog would have been cool. There's a bunch of them.

Yep...been pretty busy on here. It feels like I-10 just doesn't end huh! Glad to have you here!

Thanks! They were so excited to be heading out!

A cow sound at the sight of a restaurant would definitely make me not want to eat! That's funny!

We left the rest stop in Alabama, and it wasn't long before I saw this!

We keep saying we need to the bring the boys to see the battleship in Mobile. It never happens. We were thinking about stopping on our way back home. However, we were unsure of Madeline's work schedule . Plus, it was Memorial Day weekend. Not easy to find a room. We'll do it another time.

I will say though that I thought of you Dana as we passed by. I knew you had left earlier in the day, and I was curious as to where you were on your trip at that time. BTW, thanks for the info on traffic back ups at the tunne. We passed through at 3:15 with no problems.

Sam liked the battleship. He has been aslep passing it by the last couple of trips, so he was happy to see it this time.

The ride finally caught up with Cooper about 10 minutes later.

Sam felt it a little while later as well.

So, we have two kids asleep. Sadly, they missed the excitement of FINALLY seeing...

It was a quarter to 4 by the time we got to Florida. Not bad time at all. It was this time that we all started talking about dinner plans. My original plan was that we would stop for fast food. We'd be done within about 30 minutes if we did things my way. However, Bryan and SOnny wanted to stop at a restaurant instead. We decided that Pensacola would be too early, so we decided dinner would be in Tallahassee.

So, we drove...

and drove.....

and drove....

until we reached Tallahassee. By this time it was almost 6:30 (I remember texting Randy). Bryan decided to take a random exit in Tallahassee. It was at this point Abby that I wished I had your number. They couldn't decide wear to eat at all. They ended up stopping at a Red Lobster on the Capital exit. It was down the street form the Cracker Barrel we stopped at last year. I am not a fan of Red Lobster. You gotta understand. I am from South Louisiana. We have incredibly fresh seafood. Red Lobster just isn't my cup of tea. This particular visit wasn't all that good. It took us almost 2 HOURS to have dinner. OMG!!!!!! I wanted to scream. A soon as our entrees came, I asked for the bill. Who knows how long it would have taken us to get it if we waited until after we had finished eating.

We hopped back into the truck after eating to finish the last 2 hours till we reached our hotel.

Bryan had argued with me a little bit before the trip saying that we would not be getting into Lake City until 11 that night. I kept pointing out that there was no way that it would take us 10 hours to travel the 540 miles to Lake City. The trip itself takes about 10 1/2 hours. How could it be 11 by the time we reach Lake City?!?!

Well, dinner took us 2 hours rather than the planned 30 minutes. We got to Lake CIty and checked into the Holiday Inn by 10:30. He enjoyed pointing out how close he was to being right. I took joy in pointing out that dinner was not what I had planned. He changed that plan.

All Bryan had requested about the hotel for the night was that it was not a hole in the wall, and it had a Cracker Barrel nearby. Well, he got both wishes granted. The hotel was actually very nice. We would stay there again in a heart beat. Plus, Cracker Barrel was directly across the street.

I didn't take pictures of the hotel until we woke up the next morning. We needed to get to sleep because we were going to have an early morning.

Tomorrow's plan? Be awake for 5AM and be at Cracker Barrel for opening time at 6AM. We were trying to get to Kidani and be checked in for 9AM. We're trying to get as much time in at Epcot as we can.

Will we stick to it for the second day in a row?

Please excue all of my spelling errors in my previous post. Cooper broke the letter P key on my laptop tonight, so I am making some errors as I am being concious of the missing letter. Very frustrating.

Wow, sounds like a great second day too! Seeing that picture of Sam in the van after Red Lobster, it brings me back to the road trips my family took to Montreal...and how we would always get there by night time to check in. Ahhh, nostalgia.....

The best way to take a road trip! ::yes::

I worry about my posts having spelling issues, too. My N started coming off a while back, followed by an occasional jumping off of the A, and now the S wants to be like its neighbor. Right now, they are all behaving nicely, but when they all act up at once, it is just silly trying to type. I am browsing around for new laptops now, as that is not the only issue with this one, but want to hold off as long as I can. I am cheap like that.

Looking forward to the big arrival at Kidani! :dance3:

I love road trips!!!!! Lol. Especially the ones going to WDW!! :) Great update!

Cool update.. I have to admit... seeing your pictures of the long drive over makes me dread the next time we have to drive... we are getting spoiled with flying.. I've asked Alisa to check into airfare for mardi gras...

I'm totally with you on that one! I didn't think I'd like flying, because I am claustrophobic, so being in an enclosed plane with low ceilings gets to me a little. BUT, for the convenience of being from Nashville to MCO in less than two hours, I have learned coping strategies. ;)

Great pics from the car! And also of that florida sign…that must’ve been soo exciting! 2 hours for dinner?! I bet you’re wishing you did things your way! LOL! Glad your hotel was nice…and that there was a Cracker Barrel there! Can’t wait to see if your plans hold strong! LOL!

Glad I could give you some feelings of nostalgia. LOL....
