Welcome Wendy...we are ALL teachers and we are ALL about 42, you should fit right in!! (except for my dad who is MUCH older than all of us! :rotfl:-he's known as "thong boy"....don't ask why! :confused3 )

Wow, I just saw the Panama pics...wow, wow, wow!!

Also, I finally received the Passporter and DCL books, I'll be up all night reading!! I'm so psyched, let's hear it for Fridays!!

Just two quick things to report.

Way to go Phoenix Suns!! On to the conference finals.

Summer has arrived . . . . . . predicted to be 110 degrees on Saturday and 112 degrees on Sunday!

Did I mention the Suns? - pun intended!

Hi Wendy
I'm no expert but I think you are asking about the restaurant in DL called Blue Bayou. As I understand it it is part of the pirates of the caribbean attraction in the Disneyland park You can sit and watch the boats go by and reservations are important.
If you want to request a dining rotation for the ship you can phone DCL and they will note it on your booking but it is just that a request and you don't actually know your rotation until you are aboard.
Are you going to DL before the cruise? I'm also a teacher although I'm 44! :rotfl:

you will find, in these threads, if EVER you have the time to
read all of them, we are the nicest bunch of people! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 (we do have ONE 'strange'
ONE, but every group has one of them - your way to meet
everyone on this board - FIND THE STRANGE person in this
thread :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) Please keep in touch with us -
we all want to know each other's plans - are you planning on staying
in one of the Disney hotels before the cruise?
Ah, JoAnn - love 'yu - "we are ALL about 42"...you may be my
favorite one today....but what about "we are ALL teachers? :confused3 )
Oh, Wendy, my ONLY problem with teachers - I work for professors
all year long, and now I'm going to spend a week with a bunch of
teachers! (oh, well, our good friends we are bringing along are
teachers too). Thanks for stopping by the thread.
Oh, by the way, you people out west, PA is cold, this week only in the
60's with rain most of the time. I want to be in Arizona! - Lucy

Unfortunately, the Pacers lost, but so is life! I will root for the Suns for you! :sunny:

It is going to be in the 70s today and tomorrow here! Perfect baseball weather!

Hi,
thanks for the warm welcome. We'll be at the Hiton near DL for 3 days before the cruise. Our family our all disney fanatics. Husband Dennis is self employed, teaches maritial arts. I've been teaching for 10 years, currently in 3rd grade. DD 15 named Caley loves riding and photography, Shannon is 12 loves arts, magic and comedy. Our son Mike can't make it this year since he'll be off to college, plays football, so they start early! I love snorkeling, so if anyone knows the best port to snorkel in let me know. We just came back from the British virgin Islands, and the snorkeling there was amazing! I've heard good things about randi's horses too! We'll be staying in cabins 6630 & 6631. (parents near there too.)
Guess thats all for now.
Happy Sat!
Wendy :) :wizard:

I have been lurking for quite some time and figured it was time to post again. Glad to see another family from Las Vegas. We finally made our excursion reservations. PV scuba for me spa for DW. Maz. family beach break and cabo still undecided. Sounds like pirate night is @PV. Requested dinning rotation of PLA so we will see if that works. We are on the REAS package so they said we will probably get it. The online res system is nice, now there will be no onboard rush! Looks like quite a few are going to DL before the cruise, we are APH's so we definately will be there. pirate:

Sorry to see the Pacers eliminated. We were pulling for them. Mainly because of Freddie Jones (who of course is an Oregon Duck)! Once a Duck always a Duck!

Hi Jo Ann and all,
Just saw your post for the first time, haven't been on this board in ages. We will be joining you on the Disney cruise out of LA on the 30th. This will be our second Disney cruise, but first time out on the Pacific. We will be spending 2 days in Disneyland prior to the cruise and are psyched to see places we have never been to. We are DVC members and have been to DW many many times, have also cruised the Eastern Carribean on the Magic in 2001. So DL and the cruise to the Mexican Riviera are all firsts for us. I am from NY and traveling with my DH and two DDs, 18 and 15, so we are looking forward to perhaps meeting you onboard since our girls are the same age. I will be a good girl and try to keep up with the board from now until the cruise, I am looking so forward to this vacation. Hope to hear from you soon. Debi :cool1:

So glad to hear from you :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Another east coast person - never too many!
Debi - will you be visiting DL before the cruise?
This is my family's first time out of west coast also - have cruised
on the Wonder about 5 times and the Magic one other time, out of
Florida - we are a Disney crazy family.
I don't know if you have read this whole thread, but if you don't have
time, let me tell you each and every one of these people on this
thread are so nice....we've all been chatting for awhile, helping each
other out with our visit to CA....
I am so excited about visiting DL, a little more excited about the 7-day
cruise, and ALOT excited about meeting everyone. :grouphug: :grouphug:
Thanks for joining us and please keep in touch. :flower:
Oh, by the way, not just JoAnn may be interested in your DD, I have an
18 yr. old DS, will be 19 yr. old on the day we sail, who would like to meet
up with kids his own age (he won't be able to meet people in the teen club
this year - kindof shy about meeting people - i hope he can meet up with
people in this thread)....now, ME, shy? of course :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Welcome again - Lucy

We go away for the weekend to LaJolla (it was SOOOO nice, went to the beach and zoo with the kiddos) and two new families join us! How exciting!!!

OK, just for review so I can add our newbies to the list...(Wendy, you did most of this already)...please provide your name, occupation, spouses (if applicable) name and occupation, kids names with ages, where your coming from, cabin number and mail/late seating. I'll add your to our thread list and repost it.

Dustin-nice to hear y'all are still with us!

Leslie-we topped about 100 in Murrieta this weekend...hence we went to San Diego, which was about 77!!!!!

Just to review for those who want to participate...we're having a fun little exchange on the first night...bring a bag filled with $10 worth of a specialty item from your neck of the woods--i.e. if you were from Hershey, PA you might want to bring Hershey's chocolate--that's the sort of thing we're talking about. At one time we agreed to meet at 10pm at Diversions the first night...not sure if that's still good for everyone or not. We certainly can pick another day/time...whichever!

That's all for now...off to wash the sand off of the boys!

Lisa

After such a nice Spring, we have had record setting heat that last four days. We made it to 114 degrees today!!

Folks, there just aint no denying it . . . . . that's %$&#*@% hot!

Normally we have a kind of build up 105 for a few weeks and then gradually it becomes warmer. This was bam! Oh well, the beauty of living in Arizona.

We still plan on bringing our friends the rattlesnake and scorpion. Hopefully we can keep the kids up until 10pm that night. I am sure they will be worn out.

.....dropped out "rattlesnake and scorpion" of the exchange
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

in PA this week, high only in 60's and rain, every single day......anyone
in Arizona or California like a visitor?!

I'm so glad to "SEE" new faces!

Hey maybe we could switch--I wouldn't mind the rain. It is way too hot for my taste right now--and I think it was the high nineties here--so I can't even imagine AZ right now 114 degrees--do you even go outside?

I can't believe that the Magic is going to be here on Sat :goodvibes . Can't wait to see it. Lisa I will pm you with my cell just in case we need to get in touch. We will take pictures, so we can post 'em for you guys to see.

Lisa I may need some ideas on the gift exchange--I am stumped right now. Where is Diversions? I don't remember reading about that one...

Have a great week everyone and stay cool :flower:

Liz

Lisa and Liz - a great big THANK YOU for any pictures you could
post for the rest of us. SO, is the sailing at 5:00, which means 8:00
for me, no plans for Saturday night for me!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

LIZ, LIZ, LIZ - you are from California - you need ideas?
Remember, there is Rodeo Drive....... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Pictures are posted today from Acapulco....very exciting.

I'm starting to put clothing aside for me (let's just say, starting to
gather whatever clothing fits!).....we are headed to Disneyworld in June
and I hate to say it, and don't wanna upset my DH, but I can't even
think of that week....too excited about July!

Ahh yes now I remember earlier in this thread--the mention of J. Lo and Rodeo Dr. hmmmm, on a $10 budget I am going to have to get creative :earsgirl:

Looks like they are having a blast on the repo cruise!

Liz

I'm so excited! About six months ago (maybe more) I submitted photos to Disneyland to use in their photo collage. I submitted five photos thinking we'd be lucky to get one in...well they sent me an email today telling me all five photos were used! So, three are in Steamboat Willie, one in the Little Mermaid and one in the Incredibles! How "incredible" is that? (cheesy pun, I know). Can't wait to go there and see them. The email lists the exact location so you can find it. Fun, fun, fun!!!! :teeth:

That's great, Lisa!

I just got an e-mail from Disney Visa listing all of their special Disneyland promotions for the 50th Anniversary. They include free stroller rentals, a 10% discount at certain restaurants and on some merchandise, a 20% discount on select tours and a daily cardmember character meet and greet where you'll receive a free 5x7 photo at Ariel's Grotto in DCA. I'm especially excited about the free stroller rentals as I wasn't planning on bringing my stroller from VA.

Regarding Supershuttle vs. Golden West Express, I'm holding a reservation with both of them for transfers from DLH to the Port and then from the Port to LAX. I made my reservation with Supershuttle first. It is for a shared 7-passenger van. I made my reservation with Golden West Express after seeing their name mentioned on this board. I e-mailed my initial request for a quote to them and they replied very promptly. I then followed up with a few additional questions and again their replies were very timely. Their price for an exclusive van (no share) was about the same as a shared van on Supershuttle. I'm going to hold both reservations until some of those that cruise before us return and post their reviews.

Kathy

Exactly how I'm feeling about Golden West - they were so prompt
getting back to me - I'm also going to wait to book until I hear some
comments...it is either them or Supershuttle - PrimeTime shuttle not
good at responding.
Thanks also for the heads-up on Disney Visa - won't tell me 13 yr. old
about the stroller - he is so lazy he would ask to be in one (even though
he is now 5' 6"!!) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

People - go on over to the Live from the May Repositioning Cruise - around
page 90 - GREAT pictures.

Lisa, congratulations, but I'm clueless (what else is new!) - are they
family photos? Explain, please.
