Jenny: I can't believe you said that!!! we said that already Sunday
night, when we drove down Main STreet - we only saw ONE car
on Main STreet, besides our car. Today, I actually ran to grocery store
over my 1/2 lunch period and bought ingredients for dinner and actually
got back to work ON TIME (who cares, noone is at work right now but the
secretaries). I did shed too many tears last week when our seniors left -
I get so attached to our students - so many beautiful thank you notes
from them, and gifts. (see, my DISer friends, I AM a nice person! :rolleyes1 )
The Williams' Family has also had a very bad week, everyone of us! :sad2:

Lisa - I was going to ask you how close you lived to the port and if you
would be going down there on the 28th to see the Magic. Do you have
a digital camera that you could shoot us a picture or two. OH, we bought
a digital camera, finally, have NO clue how to use it. I have 5 hours on
a plane from PA to CA, I'll read the instructions.

ALL: I keep reading the posts for this Saturday's departure - they are so
excited and I am so excited for THEM, too. Tonight we are going to get
our pictures taken for our passports - applying on Saturday - I'm sure it is enough time - I'm just curious - we only want to get 3 passports, because we don't know if the 19 yr. old will be travelling with us too much longer - it would not be worth the money - gotta post a question on cruise thread about using passports and a birth certificate.

Lucy :love1: :wave2: :grouphug: :) :thewave:

Pictures would be good! I definitely will look forward to those Lisa!! I envy you getting to be right there............... :flower:

the Reds could do it against the Phillies :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Finally got our passport pictures taken last night - only three of us
Saturday we apply for the passport - when my DH heard how much
they were going to cost, he agreed the 19 yr. old didn't need one -
Bryan (the 'teen') was very glad he didn't need to go away with his
family to get one.

You know, we are going to Disneyworld (the three of us) in June and
I can't even think about that trip...too excited to meet all of you.
Lisa: what is up with you? you didn't answer Lucy - do you have
a digital camera to send us pictures of the Magic.....what's is up with
not answering your 'friends' (a little too busy doing errands with kids, taking
care of the house, being a mom.....who is important here?!!!! :rotfl2: )

Sorry guys...I've had such a busy week! I volunteered at my son's school on Monday, all day field trip on Tuesday (1st graders are exhausting!), Wednesday I was in a meeting for a non profit moms organization that I'm involved with, and yesterday was my day I take my little one to the park for fun with his buddies....so I've been so tired!!!

Anyway, yep, I have a digital camera and we will be sure to take pics and share with our DIS friends! I'm pretty excited. I just learned that a BIG group going on the July 9th thread are going to be at the same restaurant we are on May 28th...so it's gonna be a DIS party!!!! Too funny.....

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

I was just wondering if anyone who ordered the new Passporter book had received it yet. I can't wait til it gets here :earsgirl:

Kathy,

Enjoy the concert tomorrow :teeth: and be sure to give me a report when you have a chance.

Have a great weekend everyone...it's gonna be a hot one here :sunny:

Liz

Well my Reds showed their "true colors" tonight. I finally turned it off at 12-2. :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

I have my MIL and FIL in for the weekend, so I am just hanging out..... :sad2:

9 more days of school........can I make it?????? :confused3

I run to the mailbox everyday looking for it. I know some people have already received it but I think those were the people who were leaving today! They gave them priority. Hopefully ours will be here today.

Yesterday it was 95 here...probably will top 100 today. My neighbors new pool is beginning to look attractive to us...........

Liz-I confirmed the Magic is sails at 5pm. Do you think I should change our reservation to 4:30 instead of 4? I got this link from the July 9th thread...it's info about what they have planned on May 28th at the port, sounds like they're making an event out of it! http://www.sanpedrochamber.com/beacon_0505.pdf

This afternoon I placed myself in front of the computer to watch
The Magic leave Florida and sail to Lisa and Liz (those webcams are
so cool) - they sailed a little late, so I had to wait awhile for "her"
to appear on the cam. There are so many cameras down there - it
was so much fun - I screamed (a little too loud) when it was sailing
right by me on the screen....it really did give me goosebumps. Those
people on the ship are really keeping us informed - jump on over to their
site - they have pictures posted already - and, I am pleased to see, a
new Castaway Club gift (not the towel-we have plenty of them) - it
was a blanket, but, maybe it will only be for the Panama Canal sailing -
we'll see. They are all I could think of today. Oh, my 13 yr. old and I
got our passport information sent, but the husband didn't have a raised
seal on his birth certificate (I don't know how in the world DCL always
approved his certificate before) so he must send for a new birth certificate
(told him it was better than not being able to get on the ship out in
California-of course, I would wave goodbye to him on deck :rotfl2: ).Lucy

Lucy ~ we don't have towels, but the blanket would be nice too. I sure wish I was on that boat right now!
_____________________________

We went car shopping yesterday with MIL and FIL. It was nice to get to look and they watched the kids. Unfortunately, I wasn't home in time to see the sailing, but I will jump over to the cruise forum and see if someone did a clip of it.

Hope all are well in our fabulous "club"! I just can't wait!!!!

Certainly has been quiet on this board the last week or so.

The heat has hit us too. Yesterday got up to 102 degrees and today it's suppose to be around 105. Last year we already had like twenty days in a row of 100+ degree heat. So we really can't complain this year. It has been extremely nice. Oh well, we will just have to spend more time in the pool and work on our tans for Mexico.

Our almost three year old (Kayla) has taken a new facination for Mickey Mouse. This might coincide with her new ability to speak more than one word at a time (finally). Anyway, the new celebration Disneyland commercials play here in Phoenix all the time. She just goes wild yelling "Goofy, Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mmmooouuusssseee". We really think she is going to have a good time on this cruise. Our first cruise last September, her favorite part was the stairs between floors!! Pretty expensive vacation to play on the stairs!

10 weeks to go!!

when you say it is hot, is it "Florida" hot? (you know, the humidity
also). Everyone must be busy right now with school, 'our' board
is rather slow.
Leslie: that is so exciting with your 3-yr. old - seeing it through
a child's eyes. Our family has the opportunity to babysit a 2 yr. old
beautiful little girl (whose parents don't know anything about Disney) -
well, the Williams family has also taught her all the main characters, we
are hoping to take her to DW in the near future (with the parents'
approval, of course). I LOVE watching children at the parks and
their reactions to the characters.
Let me warn everyone: I love 'little people' and will fall in love with
each and every one of your children......
Everyday I get more and more anxious to meet you guys......when we
finally reach that ship, I want the time to go very slowly.

Well, I am guessing that California's hot is not at all like Florida--we don't have the humidity factor. A month or so ago, we were begging to see the sun we had so much rain! :sunny:

I think you are right about everyone being busy with school stuff--guess it's that time of year...

Liz

Well, I finally booked my excursions by phone, it was a bit of a hassle! The DDs have already indicated they want the horseback riding so already I will be changing some things. I was just reading the thread from yesterday! The MAGIC has sailed to the west coast! It left yesterday and one DISer has been sending pictures to a thread on the DCL forum, check it out!!

Time is flying by quickly for me.....school can't end too soon around here!!

Anyone book all their excursions yet?? :flower:

I just got back from DC. I went up there with a girlfriend to see Springsteen last night. Liz, he was incredible as always. We had nose bleed seats though. I spotted one of the men-in-black and sent my friend over to ask him for front row seats but she got nervous and didn't think it was for real until we saw him giving the tickets to some other people. Too late...oh well. I got front row tickets that way in 1995. On our way back to the hotel I ran a yellow light that turned red while I was in the middle of the intersection. The next thing I know there was a flash. My friend thought it was a cop but I quickly realized it was a taffic camera. I will be expecting a ticket in the mail shortly. I don't plan to tell my DH as I got a speeding ticket a few months ago and I'm scheduled to go to traffic court next week. UGH! I just finished reading the "Live from the Magic" thread. Wow 22 pages!

Kathy

all I can say is, thank goodness you are not steering the ship! :rotfl:
we'd be in Puerto Vallarta by sunset :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
So glad you got to see Springsteen - betcha if I mentioned that
name around our house, none of the kids would know him (I AM aging
myself, aren't I?).
Oh, well, just tell your DH you won a prize in DC! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Arizona heat is nothing like it is in Florida. It is truly a "dry" heat here. This would be a typical July day - turn on your hair dryer to the hottest heat and let it blow on your skin. Now imagine it without the "wind" of the hair dryer. There ya go!

Florida reminded us of DC. We spent a year in DC and it was THE longest year of our lives. You get out of the shower and dry off, no wait, you can't get dry!! Miserable!

Having been at WDW last June, I can assure you California heat is NOTHING like FL heat...there's virtually no humidity although someone one the board had posted they had heard Mexico was rumoured to be humid this summer...I just can't imagine it could be like FL humidity...stand still for 2 minutes and you were sopping wet!

The repo thread was really exciting!!! Loved looking at the live pics!!!

Lucy - My youngest is 3 and Mr. Dimples is a love bug, so he'll welcome your love (he'll be shy at first). And, if he doesn't get potty trained as I have planned we all may be seeing a lot more of him than originally planned (boy will he bummed not to go in the kids program...he just doesn't get it!)

will LOVE watching "Mr. Dimples" - truly! I am very weak when it
comes to young children.....I love them to bits!
NOW, gang, teenagers, of which I have, that is totally another story..
I love 'em, but, boy, are they ever a handful.....too many stories!
Lisa - I PM'd you!
Where is Bill?
Where is Lynn?
Where is everyone else?
I'm at work on Sunday - doing some "extra" typing jobs.....every little
bit of cash helps!
:grouphug: Lucy

For those of you parking at the port this summer, there is a free courtesy shuttle that will pick up/drop off at your car or curb. The parking lot is a decent walk from the pier, unless you manage to get a close parking spot.

I was on a Carnival Cruise to the same ports Thanksgiving, 2003. I was amazed at the humidity in the ports at that time of the year. I would guess it will be close to Florida weather by the time we are there this summer.
