OK, my suggestion is to meet at Diversions at 10pm after we have left port on Saturday night...what do you guys think, do you like this idea???

Also, I will look into where we should meet on Friday night before the cruise...
last time I stayed at GC, there was a place for a nice place to eat somewhere in the park area, I will check into it and get back to everyone!!

Anyone else start their Christmas shopping?????????? :grouphug:

We are too celebrating! This is our 10th wedding anniversary. Actually it's the weekend before, but we are calling this the offiicial celebration!

Bob and Lucy want to meet all of you also, but you want
me to stay up till 10:00 PM (LOL!!) - I am totally a morning person,
my husband being a night person....I'm just kidding - whatever
all of you decide I want to do. My son will be celebrating his
19th birthday the day we begin our cruise - any nice girls for him,
anyone?!!!! (LOL!) We are bringing friends along from PA (we 'forced' them
to go on Wonder this year and they absolutely loved it too).
Yes, we will be at the GC before the cruise, willing to meet there too.
Once we get on the ship, we will rush to do our PALO ressies, and I know
my hubby always wanted to do the spa, so hopefully he will be making
reservations for that too. We MUST do dinner at PALO's and we want
our friends to also try the brunch (they ate dinner with us this year
and thought that was the highlight of the trip) - my DH and I did brunch
a few years ago and loved that also. Once these reservations are made,
we are free to meet anyplace, anywhere, anytime. - Lucy :boat:

My DDs are coming....21, 18 and 15 by then. Where would everyone else like to meet, do you like the Diversions at 10 idea???? :grouphug:

Having never been on the ship before, where ever you guys suggest works for me. Just name the time/place and remind me the week before (all the pre-cruise excitement might make me forget) and I'll be there!

Last summer we met in the afternoon before the drill and it was alittle nerve-racking.......I think later in the night would be more relaxing........anyone else have an idea???

Once the clubs for the kids open "for business" I am a free woman!! :cool1:
Last cruise I forgot I had kids! They had such a blast in the clubs that they didn't want to do ANYTHING with me. I had to "lay down the law" once in a while and make them at least visit me at dinner!

Great, that's how our kids are too! Jfs, what's your first name???

My DD17 told me today that some friends that we've made on THREE previous cruises are returning next summer too....how cool is that????
I will try to get them to join in to our thread!

I'm really excited about next summer! My parents have also finally booked their room stays in CA. The next step for us is to book our transfers to the ship. What's everyone else doing????? :jumping4: :jumping4:

Since we live about an hour from the port, we'll, obviously be driving. I would imagine that DCL will have some type of transfer situation available for everyone. They're too organized to not have something. Although, I would think by now they'd have something out about shore excursions?!?!

Lisa

I replied this week, and it did not appear on the boards.
boo-hoo.
I was telling everyone about the transfers my husband found out about.
The Story: we had the whole package booked, airfare, hotel, transfers,
cruise, everything - but then realized we could save some money doing all
this on our own (especially the airfare). So, last week he cancelled the
package, but the woman at Disney Cruise LIne did ask him if he didn't want
to keep the transfers (GC to port, port to LAX) for $50/person - of course
we said yes. He is suggesting to our friends to also call either the hotel
or cruise line and ask about these transfers. I really don't wanna worry about how to get to and from. I have read about several companies that
we could book to take us from LAX to GC, some with a food stop, we love
to have bottled water in the rooms - there will be seven of us.
I can't believe those same teens are coming on this cruise too.
Diversions sounds great to me. When is everyone eating dinner? Our friends wanted main seating, we would prefer 2nd seating, but there are advantages to both (room service in the evening!). We'd still like to talk them into changing. Lucy

Yes, my DDs friend from Chicago is coming, he is a teen about 19 and a really nice guy.

My problem with the DCL transfers is that for 7 people that is about 350 dollars and I think I can do it cheaper than that. So, I'll look into it.

We are on second seating. I find it less stressful, especially on port days. If people get hungry, you get always get something to tide you over until dinner. It's easier for all of us to get cleaned up and prepare for evening activities with late seating. The ports we are visiting are all departing around 5 so that will work out good for us.

I'm glad the Diversions idea is working. I think it would be nice to unpack and get comfortable and then meet everyone.

How's everyone's holiday preparations coming along???

I'm done with my Christmas shopping. With 2 and 6 year old boys, the thought of last minute shopping makes me want to run to the hills screaming LOL!! My neighbors all had their outdoor decorations up the day after thanksgiving, which seems super early to me. I looked across the street on thanksgiving day and had to look twice...there were twinkling lights shining from my neighbors Christmas tree. Guess everyone works at a different pace. We're *planning* on getting the decorations up this weekend...we'll see. I just feel good about having the shopping done and out of the way. Now I just need to make sure my boys don't find their gifts from Santa, otherwise his cover is blown...he he he, or should that be ho ho ho?!

My shopping is in good shape as well. All three kids are done (even despite a birthday for DS11 and my mom this week!). DH was easy as he doesn't want much, but to put the mone towards the cruise and our Spring break trip to WDW.

Survival is at work.......I am an elementary teacher. Tough month, but I am down to 10 school days to vacation and am being sent to a workshop for two of them!!!!!

Bring on Santa!!

Did you people have to bring up Christmas shopping?!!!!
You started my morning out great :guilty:
NO, just kidding, you will find I love to kid!
LiserAnn - treasure the "Santa" days - I truly miss them.
My youngest son was 11 until he found out - I loved it!
I am so lucky, my husband is in retail (JCPenney) and this
is NOT a fun time for him, but he is the best - he does all
the decorating (and a magnificent job he does, every year)
and he does alot of the shopping. I LOVE to bake (but can't
eat any of them - WW) but that is my love at Christmas.
We've been having so much rain in PA, I'd like to see a
snow flurry or two (just flurries!). I'm a secretary at a
university so we are also winding down - two more weeks of classes.
Staff has off between Christmas and New Year but I also take the
week before as vacation time - makes life less hectic.
Hearing JoAnn 'talk' I would like to do late seating also.

Hey all!

Sorry, I mentioned it but......I'm almost done!!! (Xmas shopping!)

I'm a teacher too, so I have to do it quickly on the weekends....

Keep up the good work, all!

JoAnn :jumping4:

.....for summer
it is now sleeting in PA!
I don't mind snow, on Christmas Day only, then I want 60 degree
temperatures. (California people, don't even go there!!!!!)
JoAnn, apologies accepted but I am jealous - but, I am NOT
an organized person and love to be stressed up until the last
minute.

Embrace the holiday....it's over too soon!!! Then we just have the cold weather and the loooooonnnnnnnnnngggggg wait ahead of us!! :guilty:

Let's keep a great thread alive!! :grouphug:

I read it everyday to check for replies :cool1:
Going to NYC tomorrow again - we are so lucky to be
only 2 hours away and direct bus service from our town.
(although I'd rather have direct service to Florida right
now.) Will of course visit the huge Disney store on
5th Avenue, eat, see the tree at Rockefeller Center, maybe
see a show, but probably not this time, eat again, do a
little shopping, that's about it for tomorrow. We've been
having nasty cold rains in PA lately, kindof depressing.
Anyone else have big plans?

I'm really lucky! :guilty: I'll be sitting in a college course for the next two days (8 to 5pm). I'm trying to do the miserable stuff now so that I can enjoy my summer and our vacation plans next summer!! :boat:
