Lucy goes away and you can't chat with each other
Got home around 3:30 (5-1/2 hour drive), ran Tyler to the school (music instructor had practice tonight, even though school was closed)....fell asleep on the sofa for about 30 minutes...and then the darn family was hungry - WELL, MOM told them - find something - I'm tired.
OH, and get this - my house was SO clean (Bry stayed home) - either he paid some friends to clean up or he 'didn't' have a party?!!! I'll find out
tomorrow - I have very, very "nosey" neighbors who tell someone i work with everything we do.....BUT, there were NO police reports waiting at the door!
But a really cool looking book from the Disney Vacation Club.
DID ANYONE SEE THOSE EAGLES!
even Bob and Lucy watched part of the game (the last 2 'innings' as I call it)...but, you know, Bob and I found that it is so much easier watching a football game when you are sitting in the bar during a manager's reception for two hours! Maybe that is why we never understood the darn game. Two hours of free drinks (yes, Ms. Jenny, I actually had TWO glasses of wine last night, and on Saturday night, THREE glasses of wine)......
Oh, my friends, what a disaster of a trip. Our friends drove their car too.
We got to Williamsburg around 9:30 AM, it was pouring rain, and windy, checked into the hotel, and then decided to go to Historic Williamsburg and walk around, even though it was raining. WELL, what a very stupid idea. We got SO wet, through and through. Went in a few shops, then decided to go back to hotel - our friends drove their car into Williamsburg - ah, we 'thought' the "puddle" we drove thru wasn't bad - ah, IT WAS. Their car broke down.
To make a long story short, it should have taken 10 minutes to get to hotel, it took 1 hour, we started, we stopped, we started we stopped. Then it finally died close to the hotel, and Bob walked in the pouring rain to get our car....Fortunately, there are some very nice people in Virginia! (hint-hint, Kathy) - they got their car towed, and a garage fixed it on a Sunday.
BUT, as Bob drove us back to the hotel (Embassy Suites - we love it there),
and we check back in, managment is running around, seems the water is coming into some of the rooms, the lobby (I can't explain to you how hard it was raining)....and everywhere there are buckets - people are being turned away from their reservations....Let's just say, by this time, we could do nothing but laugh, giggle and collapse. It is pouring, windy, car stuck in the pouring rain, must find a garage.....AND THE DARN KIDS WANNA KNOW WHEN WE'LL EAT!!!! We went out to eat (yea, in the rain), and came back and had many drinks before the manager's reception ended (our friend does NOT drink, at least for the past 15 years, and HE even had a drink or two or three). At that point, everything was funny!
THEN, on Sunday, Bob drove to Norfolk and we saw 'our Wonder'!
