Lucy - Maybe they know something we don't know, but just suspect. I hope so, either way we will cruise Disney with you guys in 2007 (easter Carribean, western Carribean, Mexico, it just doesn't matter to me, as long as we're together). Debi

thanks Deb
Bob had a very good idea (doesn't come often to him :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )
Once the cruise is announced we should have dates in mind.....so
we can all get ready to book.
Everyone for July again - seemed to be a good time for all.??
Shall we go for the 2/3/4 week in July. :scratchin
I WANT comments, please.

Teachers, I realize you are busy - BUT, stay on board for the announcement. :cheer2:

Thx to Dave for his pics and Lucy for her super sleuthing!! Let's see in two summers...................Tara will hopefully be working or in school.....Tracy will be entering Junior year of college......Jessica will be entering senior year of high school......probably the second week of July would be best for us??!!

Again, it would depend on how long the trip is, etc....

Now, I'm going to check around and find that post!!!

I don't know where this week has gone to, I will write some more next week, I've been to work every morning and caught up with friends/ family in the pm. still 2 more weeks before school officially starts, if the ship goes to the med the 2nd and 3rd week of July would be good as european schools particularly the UK would still be in session then. We wouldn't be able to join you until the last week july/ 1st week aug sat 28th School finishes on wed 25th!!!, but you are still all welcome to camp in the garden, sorry yard even if we don't cruise with you!!!! If the ship comes in May we might try and fit a week in then, we get a weeks break starting Sat May 26th, not quite so hot as august and a nice break for us because no transatlantic flights!!

Love the pics David
Jo ann our pics from you arrived today Thank you very much they are lovely becase of the mix up in our household on pirate night I didn't think I had any of my costume thank you. i have some great ones of you all too i'll try and post them next week.

Lucy - We are very flexible in July, all of those weeks work for us, whatever works for the majority is good for us. We always like to go away for the 4th, but if the end of the month works better, we are good. Love to all.
Debi

Hi All,

Did you miss me? I just returned from a 10-day trip to NY/RI. We were in Long Island last weekend to attend my cousin's wedding. We had a great time despite the heat and humidity. We didn't see many other minivans in the Hamptons. It's really a different world out there. We headed up to RI last Sunday and Ted flew back to Virginia to work....someone's gotta do it. The kids and I spent the week with my family in Newport. We had great weather and alot of fun. My brother rode back with us today to help me out with the 10-hour drive and he'll fly back to RI on Tuesday. The kids don't go back to school until after Labor Day.

JoAnn, Thank you so much for the picture of us on Pirate Night.

Lisa, Thank you for the horseback riding pictures. It was so good to see them since Amy and I weren't there.

Debi, We called to say "hello" as we drove through Staten Island last Friday. Sorry we missed you.

Lucy, We're open to whatever July 2007 date that the group decides to select. Remember to include the week prior to the tentative cruise date when making your decision. We will plan to travel to Spain(?) a week prior to the cruise date to adjust to the time change and relax and sight see.

OK, here is the consensus......in 2007, IF Lynn and Keith come with us, we will sail on the last week of July sailing, is that right, Lynn? :confused3

Lynn, was your address correct that I e-mailed you - I have
a great picture of you and Keith I want to send you?

IF Lynn and Keith don't go with us, all of us will leave early July and
stay in their 'yard' and then take the cruise...am I understanding this
correctly???? :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Oh, and Kathy, we can start adjusting to the time in the
"English yard", ok?

LYNN: don't you even THINK of taking a Med. cruise without us.
:sad2:

MARK FISHER, MARK FISHER, where art thou, MARK FISHER!

I know JoAnn and Wendy are coming along too
AND maybe Lisa too? What about David and Kelly?
MY FRIENDS, talk to me. :love1:

I guess we could commit to late July, early August!! Either way, it looks like we're visiting Lynn and Keith....thx guys!! :cool1:

Welcome back Kathy, glad all is well!!

So glad you got the pics, Lynn, my international postage hasn't been used in awhile so I'm glad it worked!! Tara's friends from the UK want to visit us next year so we just heard from them last week...............(if you guys ever want to cross "the pond" let us know!! :teeth: )

Thx Lucy for organizing the group and keeping us in line (just like at school with the teachers!! :rotfl: )

July is great for us....and we're in to the extent our wallet allows us. My youngest would be 5 so maybe this time I would have more time to do marg and wine tasting....ha ha ha. And I will assume he will be fully potty trained by then too! :rotfl2:

Mark and I had a little too much fun in Cincy last night, so he is hurting. I recovered quite well. :drinking1 We had a great time though. Saw a LOT of home runs this weekend and two wins!

You guys are going to have to hit Mark up. He won't even look at the pages. I tried to show him your comments, but he just laughed! He knows what we are up to! ;)

He surprised me with a trip Oct. 7-10 to Jacksonville. Bengals and Jaguars on ESPN Sunday night game. I will go to a football game any day in Florida and NO KIDS!!! :cool1: I plan to lay on the beach all day Sat. and most of the day Sun!

I'll write more later.............. Gotta work tomorow! :teacher:

Sorry I've been absent! Our oldest leaves for college Thursday and I'm already having withdrawals! He on the other hand can't wait!
My classroom is just about done!
Jenny: Hope you had a good first week
Joann, Lucy and Lynn: When do you start back?
Debi: I tried to e-mail you a phot and it got sent back, e-mail me your address, mine is correct on lucy's list.

So when is the big announcement? July is great for us too!
Have a great week!

Wendy :cool1:

My brother just left this morning so I have a day off before a friend from CA arrives tomorrow for a few days. I'm almost done with the lastest round of unpacking/laundry, but I've got to change the guest room sheets today and go grocery shopping. It's been well over a month since I've done a big shop so I'm really dreading it. I'm putting the kids in a 1/2-day camp at our club today and Thursday so I should be able to get alot done. Our ac doesn't seem to be cooling properly. I noticed it when we returned from the cruise but chose to ignore it until we returned from RI. This will be the second time this season that the system has required service and the house is only 3 years old. Fortunately, we purchased the platinum 10-year service contract for our ac and heating systems when we built the house. I'm ready for summer to be over. The kids summer break is 3 months LONG. I'm ready to send them back to school. Of course in June I couldn't wait to get them out of school. We've planned a busy Fall. I really like that time of year. The time flies through December. I could do without January/February/March. It is such a dreary time of year. I'll stop rambling now but I had to rescue us from Page 2! I hope everyone is well. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kathy

It is 7:30 in the morning
can't believe I'm on the board but my computer is down at work for
2 days so must get my friends' messages before work
I had the flu yesterday
I won't give you descriptions but it wasn't pretty - started Sunday during
the night and all day yesterday - Does anyone want desciptions :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm so much better this morning, thank goodness
School starts Monday, looks like I'll be working all weekend - they are
tearing apart the offices THIS WEEK for new carpeting....needless to
say, it doesn't look good for the start of school.
Bob finally got an answer on his knee - his is NOT happy - arthritis - the
"boy" isn't even 50 yet! Old age sucks (sorry - but there is no other word,
people).
SO, Tyler, Bryan and 'mom' start Monday....this house will be a mess again.
TODAY Tyler gets his braces....I really do pity him....my dear husband Bob is taking him...I'm sure there will be a present for Tyler afterwards...I heard
it is a painful thing.
Kathy, do you EVER have "down-time"?
Wendy, how far away is your son going to school? Unfortunately for us, I feel Bryan will be here FOREVER! I know it sounds nasty, but we could use some "down-time" from him sometime. He makes me worry about him every second of the day.
I MISS YOU GUYS MORE THAN YOU'LL EVER REALIZE! :grouphug:

The simple answer is no, I don't have much down time but my schedule is totally of my design and I wouldn't have it any other way. You should have known me before the whole thyroid nightmare. I was 1/2 my current size and going a mile a minute. Speaking of the thyroid thing, it's time for my annual tests. I spoke with the doctor this morning after I scared off his secretary. She was trying to schedule my tests which require an iodine-restricted diet for nearly three weeks, injections, a radioactive iodine pill and imagining scans and bloodwork. I didn't think I needed to do the iodine-restricted diet which really sucks...basically you can't eat anything! The doctor had to call to talk me down from the ceiling. I am not happy. I start this diet next Monday 29 August. I get injections on Monday/Tuesday 12-13 September which will make my body think I'm extremely hypothyroid without taking me off of synthroid. On that Wednesday I will take a radioactive iodine pill and on Friday of that week I will have imaging scans and bloodwork done to make sure there is no recurrance of the "c" word. I'll eat, drink and be merry that evening!

Wow! I hope all goes well. Just the thought of the diet is bad enough! Do take care and let us know how it goes.

Down Time??? What's that?? You know some people are just that way! My mom gets so frustrated because she says I "go" too much. I am bored when I am at home!!! Heck, Mark bought me this new car May 21st and I have 5200 miles on it already!!! "Home is where the laundry is"!!!! :rotfl:

uuuhhhmmmm :love1:
I'm speechless (and when does THAT ever happen!)
sorry to hear about all your tests :worried:
makes the pain in my little toe feel so much better.
I'm not kidding when I say I'm SO SORRY to hear what you must
go through with these tests......wishing you all the luck in the world. :genie:

(AND, darn it Kathy, stop scaring those secretaries, will 'ya - I'm one
of them!!!    ).

Kathy-sorry to hear about all those tests. Especially the diet part, that REALLY sucks. I can only imagine what sort of things you can eat. YUCK. Hang tough!!!!

Today was a stressful day. I hate flying, but caught the first flight out of Phoenix to L.A. My father was presented his astronauts wings today for piloting the X-15 many years ago. The flight wasn't so bad, but the drive out to Aames/Dryden is boring as _____!

Jenna started school the first Monday we came back from our cruise. We are attending our first Student of the Month ceremony at Palm Valley Elementary School this Friday. Jenna will be presented with this accomplishment. We are so proud! We are going to take Jenna and Kayla to Universal Studios this weekend to celebrate.

Lastly, we are truly saddened that we didn't get to meet any of you onboard our cruise. However, with the picture that was posted, we DID sit next to "Disneymom" and her family from Staten Island during the first lunch onboard at Parrot Cay. You all have seem to have made a close bond and such friendships are something that should be cherished. It is unfortunate that we are unable to participate in that, but wish you all truly the best in the coming years. We enjoyed all the discussions prior to the cruise and appreciated some of the advice. The stories and helpful investigations made the time go by so quickly. We have been following the 11 day Southern Wonder cruise thread and there are so many people on there that have cruised with each other before. It is kind of intimidating and hard to keep up with. Very impersonal! We are already on page 62 with almost 1000 posts. Can't imagine what it will grow to by the time we set sail next September. Luckily our care provider and her family will be joining us on this cruise.

Please help us and have our beloved Oregon Ducks in your thoughts this year. We are headed up to Oregon in September for the big game against USC. We despise those stinkin' Trojans!!!!

Again, thank you for the time and enjoyable comradery.

Leslie, Shawn, Jenna, and Kayla

Leslie-no worries...there are always others cruises to make more DIS friends with! It's hard when you have little ones. I found I wasn't able to spend as much time with the DIS group as I would have liked to because I was looking after my 3 year old quite a bit, but my limited time spent with this DIS group showed me a group of really nice and warm people!!!

On another note, I read on the live thread that DCL is offering $500 on board credit for booking the 10 day wonder cruise....that's AWESOME! What a great deal!
