Hey all!! I miss Lynn, I hope she gets home safe and sound and checks in with us! :guilty:

Thx again Lucy for the addresses.... :wizard: when I have five minutes, I'm going to send out the pics I have that all of us are in (reminder....THROW OUT ALL PICS OF ME IN WHICH I LOOK FAT!) :rotfl: There are just a few which I have saved that I don't look fat (mostly in black clothes!!) Mom just showed me her pics and quite frankly she didn't do a great job of getting rid of my fat pics. But the rest of the family and all of you look great in Mom's pics. :teeth:

Wow, let's check in with Kathy (VA) regularly about the 2007 itinerary and her travel agent to see what we can do with ressies. :earsgirl:

Major heatwave on the East Coast, let's hope it breaks before school starts (no air conditioning :confused3 )

Bob and I BOTH have that same problem with the pictures
MAN, I've got two years to lose that weight....and do something
with my hair - GOSH my pictures are awful of us, BUT, the good
news, and really, all I care about, are the pictures of you guys are
great, absolutely wonderful. I just picked up my pictures from Walmart
last night, over 200 pictures, and they all look terrific (remember, this
was my first time with a digital camera) - actually, the group picture
looks good too. I would love that picture blown up though. Since
this is my first time with our camera, I truly don't know how to post
pictures, although I wish I could learn, to share them with you...
I'm so happy to have pictures of each and every one of you. They
are my favorite pictures, truly.
OH, and my scenery pictures of Cabo - they look like postcards.....
I loved that island.
I am such a nasty person. This morning, before Bob left for rehearsal and
work, I said to him: 'ha, ha' - those people that wished us off the ship last week are getting off themselves'
OK, so I feel a little, tiny better.
Have a nice weekend everyone - the east coasters will be staying inside, for sure - too hot.
Hope also Lynn and Keith have a safe trip home and we hear from them real soon.
OH, dear Bill, have you forgotton about all 'your women'!!!!!

Hello everyone
We are home safe and sound, luckily we flew with Virgin not BA so the strikes didn't affect us, had a wonderful time driving up the coast, but when people have asked us about the cruise all Keith ever says is 'we met some lovely people, yeah the food was good , excursions fun and all that but did I tell you we met some lovely people!' guess that about sums it up for us, I'll come back and talk some more tomorrow when I've caught up on some sleep. great to meet you all, thanks for the good times
Lynn

We all had a terrific time with you AND Keith!
May we someday meet you both again.....get some rest....it ONLY
took one week for us to catch up on our sleep :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

There is no way I, or any man could "forget you gals" Lucy.... You'll are the best.... :sunny:
Looks like Lynn and Keith have made it home safely...good for them :teeth:
Well, the pictures are starting to roll in,everyone has beautiful prints of their differant activities,Cabo,Wonder,etc... some of the Quiet Pool pictures were outstanding...checking the local talent ...(say's Mark) :goodvibes
JoAnn has numerous pic's of the "the Dance"...It's wonderful I had such a powerfull cheering section.. :Pinkbounc those other poor devils never had a chance  thanks again, I'll cherish my "winner" metal forever.... :flower:

So ,I suppose it's "steady up" for the 07 Med cruise, should it ever develop..
it sounds to be a grand tour....hopefully you all will be there....

Golly, it's to Dammm hot.....!!

Lynn and Keith - Glad you are home safe. Same thing here, when we talk about our trip, we tell everyone it was awesome, and that we met the best people and are planning on cruising again with them. The people we met and the memories we made are what made this trip!!!! Micco and I are still laughing about our horseback riding adventure. And just remember, next time you want to hop across the pond, the door in Staten Island is always open!!!

I just got a call from my sister today, and it looks like her and her family will be cruising the Med with us in 2007, they are great people and will love this group!!!

I went to Costco and printed over 300 pictures the other day, I still have the pictures from the end of the trip in my camera. I have some good shots, hopefully I will get around to emailing them soon. I am not sure how to post pictures on the thread yet, sorry, maybe I will try to figure it out. Some great shots from Pirate Night, Canopy tour, horseback riding. If anyone has pics from Tequila or wine tasting, can you send them to me, I didn't get any those days.

Lucy - My pics from Cabo are gorgeous too, Los Arcos is amazing. That place was just beautiful. I don't think you could have taken a bad picture there if you tried. And by the way, I never really disappeared, I just don't get a chance to get on here everyday and post, I am sorry. Doesn't mean I don't love you guys still!!!! LOL. I mean well.

Debi

Welcome back Lynn and Keith!! Glad to here all is well! It is so crazy hot here on the east coast! I'm not complaining....we wait too long for the warm weather! :sunny:

As I mentioned, my pics are back and I was thrilled with how they came out. I lost a few but I also have a lot of good ones. My DD18 had a digital so I'll see if any of hers could be posted on my trip report. :teeth:

Thx again to Lucy for the addresses. I'll send out some pics when I get some time this week!! :earsgirl:

I've sent e-mails to everyone who gave me their addresses at pub night.
If anyone was not there, and would like the list (Lisa, Liz), please send me
the information and I will pass on.
By the way, David, your e-mail came back to me - please send me the
correct one at lwilliam@kutztown.edu
Haven't heard from David, Kelly, Lynn or Keith - hope everyone is enjoying
their extended vacation.

We’re finally home, too. Unpacking is going slow. Actually we came in 2am Thursday morning, after five days of Disneyland and have been trying to adjust back to our non-cruise life. Our Long Beach plane had mechanical problems and left 5 hours late. Besides that we had a great time. Of course, the extended time at Disneyland was an added treat. For our first cruise I can’t say we could have had a better time. We really enjoyed all your company. I’m trying to organize all our pictures. Kelly’s digital camera broke down in the middle of Mazatlan and we had to fall back on the disposables cameras. I’ll be scanning the best pictures and will try to find a place to post them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Jenny- If I find a picture of our Mazatlan group, I’ll send it to you.

Lucy- I’m sending you my email address again.

ALL- Don’t know how it’ll happen, but I’d like to do it all again. Thanks so much.

David

I thought the food was better than any other Disney cruise I have
been on. Yes, two nights I didn't enjoy the menu (last two nights) - but
did I starve, NO!

One night I did want to order something on the light menu and our waiter
did say, don't do it! SO, a Mickey bar for me. Our waiter, by the second
night, knew what Tyler would eat.....it was amazing....I didn't even know
what Tyler would eat. AND, every night I took the waiter's suggestion,
even if I questioned his choice. A funny: the last night I was the only
one who ordered this artichoke appetizer and I didn't know how to eat
it....he tried to explain....I finally said, "you show me"....and he did!

WOW! That was interesting thread. I'm a bit surprised....I had to post on it though because overall we were VERY happy with the food and service....

Who are these people???? Really, some people's cup is ALWAYS HALF EMPTY!! Of course, they didn't hang with us, the COOL people!!

I have to disagree. I don't think my cup is half empty, far from it. But I did have higher expectations of this cruise after reading this board. While our dining room servers were pleasant, they were not remarkable. Drinks were hard to come by (and we were drinking iced tea and water). We would ask for refills and wait 15 minutes for it. Even after 6 nights of orders our assistant server had to ask what we were drinking. Bread bowl refills were non existent. On three occasions the meals were mixed up at our table (there were only four of us) and once we even had a wrong dish delivered to our table. On several occasions our server left our table in the middle of our service to do something for the adjacent table. Our server was leaving the ship at the end of the repo and our assistant server had only been on board since May. I'm sure that had a lot to do with the situation. Perhaps if I had had the same servers as you, I would feel differently about the service. As far as the food is concerned, I'll stick to what I said; it was no better than what I have had in the parks at the sit down restaurants. Not that it was bad, it just was not outstanding. I understand they are preparing for thousands, and I accept that. And as I said in the other thread, food quality across the industry is falling. And while you may not accept my opinion of the service and food, my mother, who cruises four to six weeks a year and has been on all the major US lines, was not wowed, and even at one point disgusted (see the bread plate comment in the other thread).

Did all my wildest dreams come true on this ship - no, some of that is my fault (dreaming is always better, I tell my students), some of it is not. Did I have a great time - yes. Will I travel again on Disney - most likely not (cost more than any reason), but I won't avoid it and I will recommend it.

All in all, this is my opinion and that is it - mine. I think we are all entitled to have an opinion and others should respect that.

Sorry macbaby that you took my remark seriously, it was meant to be "tongue in cheek!"

I had a similar problem with our assistant server but overall, our food experience was better than ever. I still think that the DCL experience is getting better and better and I choose to see it in a positive light.

No insult intended!! :sunny:

I just signed in on Lucy's name since she was already registered. I'm hard at work researching for OUR next trip together in the Med in 07. I was looking up other cruise line's itineraries and found this out. They do 7 day cruises leaving from Barcelona. The ports were almost exactly what the crew members told us, so I hope it's correct. It's is an awesome group of ports:
Day 1- Barcelona
Day 2- Marseille, France
Day 3- Villefranche, France (connections to Monte Carlo & Nice)
Day 4- Civitavecchia, Italy (connections to Rome)
Day 5-Naples, Italy (visit Pompeii or the Isle of Capri)
Day 6- Livorno, Italy (connections to Florence & Pisa)
Day 7- At Sea
Day 8- Barcelona
A longer cruise would be nicer, but a 7 day would allow you to stay a few days in Europe and the cost would be less than a 10 or 12 day.
Either way, WE ARE GOING !! and I hope all of you can join us too !! We really miss all of you and can't wait to see you again. Please keep in touch as we plan our 07 "reunion" Talk to you soon.
Bob

Thx, Bob!!

That itinerary looks way too good!! Did we hear that the announcement will come out in September with ability to book in January?? That's what my dad was saying....??

Once we get confirmation we have to see when people are available and check with Kathy....this is really exciting!! :)

JoAnn:

Please don't take my post as a bash, just wanted to let folks know that while I did have a wonderful trip, it was not at the level these boards would lead people to believe exists all the time. And I hope that posts putting DCL in a more balanced view will be welcomed. :)

We had a fantastic trip, but I can honestly say that for my nieces (the whole reason for the trip) the best parts for them were not Disney related: ordering room service, swimming (we even had the pool to ourselves on one sea morning!), room service, going to the shows alone, room service, reading on the balcony (yes, they did!), room service, swimming with the dolphins, room service, Frank's tour, room service, the beach at Cabo, room service, dressing up for dinner and room service. About the only truly Disney experience was chasing Hook, Smee and Alice from Shutters to the Walt Disney Theater for autographs.

Don't get me wrong, we enjoy all things Disney. Just that next time it will be a week at Disneyland for that fix and a week on a cruise somewhere, all for the same price that I paid for this cruise.

Now, for a different question: Why is everyone convinced that the ship is going to the Med.? While most of the crew members we asked mentioned a possibility of a Med. cruise, Alaska was also mentioned and seemed to be their most likely choice of destinations.

Unlike many people on the boards who think the ship is unsuited for Alaska, I think it will do fine. The Magic had more protected deck space than the last ship I was on in Alaska and while it does not have covered pools, none of the ships my mother has traveled on to Alaska had a covered pool.

macbaby...hmmmmm, I see the recurrent theme was ROOM SERVICE!!! That's so funny! Sounds like your nieces dug that!

I too was wondering where the Med '07 rumor came from. Based upon Bob's post (hi Bob :wave2: ) it sounds like they spoke to some crew members that indicated that's what it might be...dunno :confused3 . I'm game until I hear the price....it was a fun group so I know the med would be a blast!

A few of our group did some investigating and the crew members and Danielle indicated that DCL might be going to Med. on 2007. It's not confirmed, but we're all in if it's a go!

We did TONS of investigating.....it started small and then the investigation
turned into a major task. And, then, we, with the help of our other
DISers friends, came to the conclusion, Med. Plus, I talked to the
captain, and told him where "I wanted to go" and he said, "so do I".
I know that means nothing.....but just thought I'd add that little comment.
SO, if this happens, I'm still trying to figure out how Disney would tie this
into a visit to Disneyland Paris.
Let's just say, wherever "my DISERs" go in 2007, I'm going too.
Seven days in Castaway Cay would be ideal!

Lucy, are you going to a double scoop CC next summer?
