Yes, let's give Lisa the task of updating the list.
Lisa, update the list, ok?, ah, pretty please......
I live to give commands :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Kathy and Liz, please? info about your family....
Picture this: :rotfl: :rotfl: someone just joining our thread and reading
Bill's latest response - too funny. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You will all be relieved to know I did not work hard today, except for
laundry and grocery shopping - uh-oh, my DH will read this from work and
I'm in serious trouble......ok, dear, I'll now put the laundry away before
you come home, luv 'ya! Bring me some clothing - luv 'ya even more!!

How were all your baseball games today? wet?

Wait! I'm confused, I thought we would bring a bag for each group with something from our area.....just 1bag for 1 family with about $10 worth of stuff from our area?

Clarify for me please?? I could make bags for everyone and include something small for each family or I could make one bag for one family!

May 1st is the day we can book excursions thru DCL (which is tomorrow!) :Pinkbounc

Okay let's see...family info--DH is J.P., 43, DS Trent is 8, DD Jensen is 4.
JP is the VP for a Land Auction company in Irvine, CA
Liz is a stay at home Mom (ironic term, because I am not really home that often!)
We live in Foothill Ranch, CA which is a little more than 25 miles from Disneyland
We are staying in cabin 2112

Am I forgetting anything??????

Liz

Here goes:

Kathy, 41, stay-at-home mom. I worked in Student Affairs at a medical school for 10 years before my son was born.

Ted, 43, (he'll turn 44 on the cruise), gastroenterologist, US Navy Medical Corps Commander. He is currently serving as the head of the GI Division at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He will take over as head of the GI Department at San Diego Naval Medical Center in July 2006. He will retire from active duty after that tour and then practice in San Diego. We will return to our beloved Coronado for good this time.

Owen is 6 and in Kindergarten.

Amy will be 4 in July and is in preschool 3 mornings a week.

Our Cabin number is 6616. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise and we've already booked #4 for June 2006.

We live in Suffolk, VA.

Did you change cabin #s? When Caryn first booked (5/5/04) our group, she had cabin #s 2112, 2114, 2116 and 2118. On 5/11/04 Caryn emailed me and that she moved us up a bit with us in cabin 2608, you guys in 2610 and the Bennins in 2612. Incidentally and coincidentally the DeCambra's TA got them in 2616 I believe. Let me know so I can put the correct cabin on our list.

I am looking at the original documents from Caryn, so we must be in 2610--that's where I thought we were. I remember moving...but don't have access to those e-mails anymore. I am glad you said something, because I thought it was strange and thought I was going crazy. So 2610 it is--in the Passporter book, they mention staying in 2610-2616 and liking those rooms a lot. I wonder whose in 2614??

Well, crazy is relative  tee hee. A mystery person is in 2614. It's a pure coincidence that Shari's in 2616 because her TA didn't know our room numbers.

By the way, check out www.dcltribute.com for some interesting DCL info. Another interesting website is www. castaway club . com. Do it with out the spaces though. I did that because DIS boards doesn't allow us to post websites of people who offer services (I think that's the reason) and they offer some type of service. DIS boards has some type of searching software that looks for that stuff and then they asterik it out so it's not legible. Anyway, castaway club has some neat stuff in it, like the spa menu, dining menus, pictures of some rooms, etc. These people have been on something like 40 DCL cruises...could you imagine?

Did you order the new passporter? I can't wait to get it!!! We planned our entire WDW vacation using the WDW passporter, I love that book!

Are you ready for tomorrow to book your excursion? Get to bed girlie! :p

That's so weird that Shari wound up so close without even knowing! Yep, I ordered the new Passporter and can't wait to get it. I am off to bed -- gotta get up early to try and book an excursion. I'll keep you posted!!

Just got off the phone with DCL. We are in for the Dolphin Encounter! :cool1: I have the kids booked for the encounter and myself as an observer.

I debated heavily going through vallartaonline, but I just had a funny feeling about getting in a cab alone with three children to go on a 1/2 hour taxi ride. I am not usually like this, as I am SO INDEPENDENT! But, sometimes instinct has its merits. I went ahead and paid more, but feel more comfortable. If DH were going, I wouldn't think twice about the savings. DH has no interest in going. Maybe I am being paranoid, but I feel good about my choice.

DH is not an excursion person. He is more of the get off the boat and roam around type. This is fun, but I am more of the learner type (must be the teacher in me!!!) :teacher: We "roamed" around Key West on our first cruise and had a BLAST! We did the beach in Cozumel, but had enough exploration time too. I think we will just do that for both Cabo and Mazatalan. I would like to find a beach on one of those stops, but don't want to do a planned excursion. I hope to rely on the earlier cruisers for information in this department.

Correct me if I am wrong........we talked about many ideas with our "bags", but did we decide that everyone bring 1 bag for each family (within a $10 limit)? I am open to suggestions!!!!! I won't even think about our bag until this school year is over (19 more days!!!!!!).

#1 - I'm too old to go with this group - you are all such 'younguns'
I'm gonna find me a rocking chair and be sitting in it while you young
folk run around the islands.

#2 - I don't know if I would have room to give everyone a bag - i have no
trouble buying the 'gifts' but I have no room - my thought was,
ONE bag and we'd exchange by drawing names or something like that
makes no never mind for me - remember I am OLD and get confused
very easily.

Congratulate me, I just finished my FIRST book since last summer - it
is going to be a good day - and the sun is shining. I am also looking
forward to the new passporter....when in the world are we going to see it.
It is MAY 1st - the first group travels to Mexico at the end of the month -
I am excited.

Hey Lucy if you feel OLD just think how my dad feels!!!! :rotfl:

Ok, Ok, just 1 bag to give to 1 family about $10. Thx for clarifying! :earsgirl:

I booked the Dolphin Encounter this morning for the kids and the DH and I will go as observers.

Jenny--what time does your excursion leave? Ours is 11am

Talking about old--I can't even remember my cabin number  --thank goodness Lisa is keeping track of these things :cheer2:

Lisa,

Thank you so much for all of your research about Vallartaonline.com. I called Disney this morning to book shore excursion and I was told that the Pirate Cruise now has a minimum age of 5 years old which definitely wouldn't work for my 4-yr-old DD. I told them that I had already booked it and that the Marigalante's website says they will even take children under 3. Go figure. Disney did confirm that they are not holding all spaces on this voyage. So, thanks to Lisa, Amy gets to go and we all go cheaper!

I booked the Stone Island thing for Mazatlan...Lisa do you have any better advice?

I didn't book anything for Cabo. After reading numerous posts on Cruisecritic.com I've decided to take a water taxi to the Melia San Lucas or the Mango Deck and just hang out there. The Melia, the Hacienda, and the Pueblo Bonita will let you use there pools for free and the water taxi will cost about $2.00 each way per person...a far cry from the $120 it would cost for the 4 of us to do this through DCL.

Kathy

I did wonder if you dolphin excursion people got in....what time did you have to get up Liz? Glad it worked out for everyone!!!!

Kathy-these are the things I don't get...since DCL has confirmed they DON'T have all the spots reserved, then why wouldn't the Margilante sell to us directly (as they were a TAD cheaper than vallarta online)? Also, why would DCL change the age when the tour operator says differently. Shoot, if we booked through DCL we wouldn't have been able to go either because of DS3! Well, I'm glad it all worked out through vallarta online! For Mazatlan, not sure if you're horses people, but www.randishappyhorses.com has horse rides to stone island. You get a horse based upon your ability and it's $45 per person. You ride along the beach and end up at stone island where you can have lunch at Victor's and play on the beach. There's a ton of info on it at cruise critic under the mexico thread. We booked it but I'm not sure if DS3 is up for it so we might cancel and do a beach activity with wave runners instead. We've decided to hang back on the ship in Cabo or walk around, nothing major.

$10 and each family brings one bag works for me.

I'll be reposting our thread member list later today soooooo LURKERS come out now so we can include you!

Great weekend everyone!

:teeth:

Hey Lisa,

I got up about 5:45 and called at 5:59 and got in and I think they answered on the 1st ring...then I went back to bed :) for more beauty sleep--but for some reason my kids always wake up earlier on the weekends :hyper:
Gotta go clean the house..my Mom is watching the kids here tomorrow evening--we're of to see the Bruce Springsteen. :cloud9:

Talk to ya later...

Liz

Liz,

I am a HUGE Springsteen fan. I'm going to the 14 May show at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. I haven't missed a tour since I was in high school. I had GA tickets at Giants Stadium in July 2003. Please post details when you get a chance.

Kathy-I emailed Randi directly and asked her about my two boys. I knew my 7 yo would be fine because I asked him and he said he would love to do it. Now my 3 yo isn't very communicative still and I kinda think he'd be scared of the horses. So I asked Randi about that and she said if when we got there he decided he didn't want his own horse then he could ride with me and I wouldn't have to pay $45. But with him I have two concerns - 1) that even with me he'd be too scared and 2) he'll be newly potty trained (at least I pray he'll be potty trained) and I could envision he'll need to go to the bathroom every little bit. So, I have to ponder it some more. Randi told me they pick the horses for the riders based upon ability/previous experience. There are the horses that walk slowly all the way up to the ones who'll do a gallup. You can email her with all your questions...she's really awesome and pretty prompt.
