Hey! July 30,2005 Cruise to Mexico Reunion Thread

Another crazy day around school, it is truly nuts! Tomorrow, I'll go in late due to a doctor's appointment. Then our State Fair Production in the afternoon. It's supposed to get really hot tomorrow just in time for the un-airconditioned show. :furious:

Today we have 6.5 pupil days and 8 altogether!:cool1:

Soccer banquet is Monday night, and the crazy soccer mom is acting up again. It's such a shame that one parent could spoil a season when so many others have been wonderful!:confused3

Oh yea, Tara and Tracy are going to Paris for the weekend!:furious:

Ok I have another 35 days of school 33 with kids 2 teacher days. It has been crazy busy.
I can't get my pics to upload we went to Ireland after meeting Joanne and familyin London, we had a good time but I got bitten to death by the midges!!!!
Next week I can't post as I'm in the new Forest with 24 children...
Oh on Sunday I went and saw the Osmonds in concert it was excellent!!!
Hope weather is better soon and everyones health improves.. please spare me a thought as you wind down for summer!!!!

we are missing a German book, no where to be found - it was in this house ALL year long, till today, of course.
AND, get this....this one-on-one Apple program, which Bob and I can't stand - they want to charge us $60 for his charger....he HAS the charger in his room - just forgot to take it today - school said it was due today, so we must pay. BUT, tomorrow, is officially our last day, if kids have any tests to make up...what is your opinion, gang. Ain't gonna be a pretty scene tomorrow with me and the school.

I got sick again - this sinus thing. Couldn't sleep all night, had the chills, a migraine, etc. Came downstairs around 4:30, and took 3 Advil - after about an hour, i fell asleep again. I've been taking 3 Advil all day long.....I'm tired of this sickness. We had a meeting a school tonight and I couldn't go (NOW you KNOW I'm sick, when I can chat with people). Crashing here on the sofa with the laptop.

Midges???? :confused3 Is that like a mosquito?? I'm sorry they made you miserable! That is AWFUL!!:( I hate bugs when they attack!:furious:

OMG!! I LOVED the Osmonds when I was a kid! I had EVERY album! I would love that! I also loved David Cassidy! I saw in concert when I was about 10! He was recently at the nearest riverboat casino last summer! I really thought about going to that!:lmao:

So sorry you are sick AGAIN!! What are we going to do with you? :worried: Have you thought about an allergist. I mean there is something triggering the sinus infections...

Take the charger and turn it in....you don't owe them anything if tomorrow is the last day.

Midges...? did someone say midges...:lmao: I believe on this side of the pond we call them ....:duck: "no see 'em's"...can you handle that...?? and yes they show up as soon as when the wind stops blowing....

That's really stupid about the charger, I mean I understand the school's frustration but if you go in, I think it will work out.

I finally feel normal this week regarding the sinus stuff, it's been bad since January so I know how you feel.

Hey Jenny and Lynn,

I never saw the Osmonds live but Marie was really fun in Dancing with the Stars last season! A few years ago, on our first trip to Vegas, I got tix to a show called "X" I think and David Cassidy was the star of it. What a cheap thrill to see him, it was so junior high!;)

I hate mosquitoes I've in five thousand rain storms this year and I had my first bad bite last week (I hate that!):hyper:

Funny thing about mosquitos.....we can be somewhere and none of us notice the mosquitos, but Marshall will end of with 10-12 bites! :confused3 They love him for some reason!:worried: We keep "skeeter sticks" around all the time because of it.

Jersey Boys tonight!:cool1: :cool1:

Next week, Regis and Kelly are having "Broadway Week". Each day they will feature a show with performances. Monday is Little Mermaid. Xanadu is one day and Taylor Hicks will be doing Grease on Friday. I can't remember all of them!:furious:

I'm home, school is DONE - don't need to set a DVR - like I know what the heck that is:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I don't know how to use a DVD player:scared1: (I'm serious)

Turned in the computer charger - still searching in this house for a German book - anyone have an extra:confused:

Midges? another 'new' word that I'm going to use...Oh, Lynn, I LOVED your British words!
Tyler IS trying out for a part in our musical next year - he needs to play a Brit - he DOES do a cool British accent - maybe I could send him to you and Keith for 2 months, for experience - sounds GREAT to me!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I saw the Osmond Family on Oprah, after their father died, the entire family was there - I really did enjoy them (even though I would NEVER admit I used to watch Donny and Marie!:scared1: :scared1: )

Jenny - have a great show - I have NOT heard ONE bad review of that show.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm going to Cincinnati next weekend - i better be healthy!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Oh, by the way Jenny, I told you you could 'have' one of the games - and you did!

Bill - I've got a crush on Utley and Burrell - I have NOT seen Ryan Howard hit ONE ball during that Cincy game - what is up with him. (don't I sound like I know what I'm talking about:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Hey weather girl, have you seen the weather for next week?.......the latest in my district, we can no longer open the outside doors to help with airflow and THEY'RE TAKING OFF THE DOOR STOPS BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT US TO OPEN OUR DOORS ANYMORE!! We still have no air conditioning and now there will be no airflow with next week's forecast.........HOW CRAZY IS THAT? Today we had our State Fair and the temp wasn't too bad....I'm planning to show videos with the lights off all next week........:worried: I feel bad but what else can we do? Remember the sweatshops of years past, THAT'S MY SCHOOL!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Show all winter/Christmas movies:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thx, I'm glad you can see some kind of humor in this matter....................:rotfl2: :badpc: :bitelip: :( :furious: :worried:

I wasn't trying to be funny (this time!), I was trying to help you find a solution to a horrible problem. Another thing, JoAnn, take a thermometer into your room, there MUST be some kind of law those kids can't be in a room that has no air and is too hot!!! MAN, I feel sorry for you!

I'm starting my third (?) job, typing for a former professor. I've done this for years, but it was easier when I could do this at work, and not at home....
I've got to use our laptop because our other computer has a new version of Word I don't wanna learn!:badpc:

Can't wait to hear from Jenny, how she liked Jersey Boys.:woohoo: :woohoo:

Lynn: no comment about taking Tyler for 2 months?:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It's better to laugh about it, believe me...............I agree there must be some kind of law against this, I am so furious! As I said, I'll either take them outside under a tree and read or show them videos, I don't know what else to do.:confused3

I'm glad to hear that you are still working!:lmao:

Ken & I are at the beach with the rents, believe it or not, we were cold on the beach, too much wind, nuts, right?

We'll probably stay until tomorrow b/c of the forecast and then it's more banquet prep..................yes,

Jenny, we'd like a report about JB, please!:lovestruc

WAS FANTASTIC!!!:cool1: But the clencher is that Mark really enjoyed it too!!!!  I knew the language was strong so I had M&M prepared. They were not phased. They both enjoyed it too. Of course, Marshall was on the edge of his seat for the whole show! I got chills when he sang "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You"! WOW!!!:dance3: The whole thing was just awesome!

As for our trip home............LONG!!! There are three ways to get here and we had only one option (the longest one). The town of Martinsville (Morgan County), which is half way between here and Indianapolis, is a mess. The river crested yesterday and parts of the town are still under water. We were able to get through there, but all the way there we could see signs of where the river had flooded the highway. The trees were like toothpicks everywhere, etc.

About an hour east of here is Columbus, IN and is where my sister lives. She called upset because one of the bridges we cross on our way to Cincinnati got hit by a rush of water and was totally destroyed! Witnesses said it looked like a tsunami! Next to the bridge/creek is a place called Mariah Foods. My BIL had a trailer there (DS and BIL are OTR truck drivers) being loaded for pick up today. The semi trailers were washed all over and slammed into the building. It's all basically destroyed. My BIL says that the town looks like a war zone. At 2 a.m. this morning law officials came to my sister's house and told them that the river was going to crest in a couple of hours and their home was at risk. They gathered all their important papers and "treasures". They took everything, including the pets to his son's house. They returned at 4 a.m. to find their driveway rushing like a river. It wasn't as bad as they had anticipated, but their basement is pretty wet. She is an absolute mess.

Lucky for us when we returned home all was well, but we were sure worried.
