Hey Houston-Area DISers, how about another meet? -- LOCATION CHANGING!

Sorry I didn't get to reply before now...
But I agree with Carl. I've been keeping a close eye on the weather reports, and it doesn't look promising for the Corn Maze.
So, here is what I propose....
Since the Black-Eyed Pea is a touch-and-go place for a leasurely lunch and conversation, should we dump the location alltogether and settle on a new area and restaurant? I'm thinking... maybe... Clear Lake or parts thereabout? Anyone have any other suggestions?

I don't know if you guys have already had your "meet" but I live in Sugar Land (Fist Colony) and would love to get together with other Disers sometime. Unfortunately- any time in November I am swamped (I am getting married November 9 and then going to Disney for my Honeymoon)
Let me know if you guys plan to get together again!
I really want to go!!!!

I'm OK with a meet in the Clear Lake area. Actually, I'm more than OK with it, since I live on that side of town. But, the question is - do the others want to still have the meet and if so, do they agree with changing the area for the meet. I also think the Black Eyed Pea is kind of a "plain" place to have the meeting, if we aren't going somewhere afterwards. If I'm going all the way across town, I'd like it to be to a place I have not eaten before. The big question is whether or not we actually have anyone left who wants to have the meet at this time.

I am fairly flexible as to where we meet. The weather is defintely not cooperating with the corn maze concept.

I'm game with either moving it to the clear lake area or postponing it all together. I wish the corn maze had worked out, but this stupid weather just isn't cooperating. :(

Clear Lake is fine with us. We don't mind driving. Irishone, I hope you can make it, this will also be our first meet.

We do need to keep an eye on the weather mainly because the ground is already saturated but I believe sunday is 30% so that's not bad.

November and December are not good for us. Very busy with 3 kids.

Okay - can Rajah or Carl come up with a restaurant suggestion for the Clear Lake area?

Carl -- since you keep wanting it down here, do you have anywhere in mind? :)

I have nowhere in mind. I just thought it would be more convenient to have it in this area. I WOULD like to have it in Kemah again sometime, but not this time (we might get washed away!) We could have it at the Olive Garden, I suppose. That is near Almeda Mall on Fugua. But, I don't really care. Rajah, do you have somewhere you would prefer?

And I thought my friends were bad at picking a place to go :-) Just kidding. I know how hard it is to plan stuff like this. Wish I could be there, but things are too crazy around here for me. My wedding is in 15 days and counting! Soon I will be in WDW for my Fairytale Honeymoon!!!!!

I typically go to the Olive Garden at Baybrook, but I've had some not-so-great stuff there the past three visits so I wouldn't recommend it for a meet.

I was thinking maybe the Chili's at Nasa Road 1 and 45, or if everyone's cool with a wonderful Mexican food place, there's La Hacienda in the same parking lot which has excellent Mexican food and some really good non-Mexican choices as well (my mom had a fried seafood platter she said was fantastic).

Or, up closer to Alameda are Fridays and IHOP. (The only two places I know of that have a variety)

Make up your mind. Just remember that people from my side of town need to be able to find the place.

I'll vote for Chili's if that's cool with everyone. Sounds like a good "meet" place, and it's easy to find. No objections?

I believe that, as well as Friday's, there is a Chili's near Almeda Mall. These restaurants are actually just across the street from the Olive Garden. They are in a center on the feeder of I45 just south of Almeda Mall. The feeder is on the East side of I45. You just take the Fuqua exit, cross over the freeway and take the first right. That street curves over into the center.

We need to make sure we go to the same Chili's. :) I was thinking the one at Nasa Road 1, so if we're going to do Alameda, we need to make sure we say which one. :D

I don't really care, but the one at Almeda Mall would be about a 12 minutes shorter drive for those coming from the north. It is about 12 minutes to get from Almeda Mall to NASA road 1.

Let's go for the one at Fuqua, then, at the noon we were going to meet before?
