Hey honey, let's take our moms to WDW instead of going to Vegas just the two of us!

i think that's the first time i've ever seen him with pants on. :confused3 But still no sign of the teeth!!

:cool1: Yayayayayayay an update!

Your plans look great! i really hope all the date nights for you and DH will turn out to be really fun and special :goodvibes

No pics with teeth yet, I'm still trying!! I hope DH and my dates are fun and special too! :lovestruc
I'm so nervous. I'm just as new to Disney dining as DH will be. I've eaten at all of two TS restaurants in WDW that I can remember, so it's not like I know for sure that the food at Narcoosee's will be out of this world. I'm depending on the opinions of you DISers!! :thumbsup2

Anybody else reading?! I'd love some more readers!!! :goodvibes

I finished school last night.:teacher: Made me a lil sad, which I wasn't expecting. But I'm so glad it's over with. Now I just have to wait for my discussion grades to figure out what grades I'll have for this semester!

I started working on a list of rides I reallllllllllllly want DH to ride, and then a list of those that I don't care one way or the other if he rides. I just don't know if he'll like the rides. He's never ridden a roller coaster in his life!! :scared1:

I couldn't believe that when he first told me! Plus he's 6'5 and beefy  so he's a bit worried about fitting in a few of them, mainly RnR. So I'm trying to do all the research for him. Anybody out there Big N Tall or have Big N Tall hubbies that were able to ride RnR without problems?

Disney wishes! pixiedust:

Congratulations on finishing school!!!:yay: :yay:

 Twinnie, i am soooo proud of you for finishing school. It's been a crazy couple of years but you stuck to it and now you're done (for now)! You're so amazing

Now if only you could manage to get the lil man to hold still and show auntie sare his teeth... ;)

Looks like SIL and BIL are planning on joining us for the weekend, potentially a long weekend if they can get the time off. I don't know if they are driving or flying, or if they'll be staying at Pop or another resort but I'm excited to know that they are planning on coming! :cool1:

I've been busy getting Christmas bought and ready to be mailed to our family in Georgia. Working on Christmas cards tonight to hopefully get in the mail by Tuesday. It's amazing how many more things I think to get done without having to worry about schoolwork. I keep panicking, thinking I'm forgetting a deadline for a test or paper for school and have to remind myself I'm done.

I have found a program where I can obtain my Masters in Teaching that will also certifiy me and it's entirely online, so I'm super excited about this. It will allow me to stay at home longer with DS2 and maybe... maybe add to our family again in a few years!!! :cloud9: I'd love a third one. Everyone keeps saying we'd be trying for a girl, but honestly I'd love having three boys, too. Just pray that he or she will be healthy.

I've decided God sent me boys for a reason. I have been volunteering some at DS1's school in the afternoons, and it's Christmas time on steroids there. They have so many projects, things as a Mom I probably shouldn't have seen yet, but I enjoy helping out when I can and try to be up there whenever DH has off a day during the week so he can watch DS2.

So we split the kids into boys v. girls and the teacher took the boys to the computer lab while I kept the girls in the room to work on reindeer ornaments. They were painting the old fashioned clothes pins to look like Rudolf. :santa: So I am squeezing brown paint into the plastic cups so they can paint them and it makes a horrible squirting noise. Brown, paint, squirting noise. I stiffle a giggle. I look around at the girls and they totally didn't catch it. Didn't even notice my giggle. They are completely unaware of any potential humor that brown squirting paint might have.

So when it's the boys turns, I had completely forgotten about the brown paint squirting and making me giggle, by now I had helped 4 groups of 3 girls and it had gotten routine- fill the paint, put down paper plates, tape the plates to the table, tape the ornaments to the plate, push the kids sleeves up, and supervise them painting. So when I refill the paint cup for the first group of boys, they all start laughing when it made the squirting noise. So yes, I now realize why God sent me boys. :lmao:

I'll probably start entering daily itineraries pretty soon, and then packing lists. I'm already planning which outfits I want the kids to wear in which park. For example, DS2 has a onesie with elephants, giraffes and lions on it. AK day of course. :thumbsup2 I'm one of THOSE people. Shameful, I know. I don't put nearly as much thought into my own wardrobe as I do my boys. :laundy: Prolly should start though!!

Hope everyone is staying warm! Hoping it gets a lil cooler here before Christmas. It was in the 70s today. Hard to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate when the AC is on. But enjoying the Holiday season nonetheless and getting even more excited about Disney now that it is only 37 days away!!
:yay: :dance3: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Happy holidays everyone!!! :santa:

Disney Wishes!! pixiedust:

That's awesome that SIL and BIL will be joining you! i'm sure you'll show them how to have a great time at WDW ;)

i'm still so excited for you that your school stuff is done. i only wish i was home to be able to chat with you more now that you must have oodles of time! :P

i also wish i had oodles of time... Christmas seems to be sneaking up on me!

... for being a slacker with Pre-Trip Reports.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
We've had a sick lil one around here this past month  We started out with Hand, Mouth and Foot in the beginning of November, then an ear infection, then a double ear infection, then a staph infection, and just when he was finishing up his second round of antibiotic, he caught a stomach bug from his older brother (DS1 was sick half a day and then done!) and has been sick since Saturday. He seems to finally be getting better. Thank God! So Disney planning has been on the back burner a bit. As it is, I'm typing this one handed because he still just wants to be held. :lovestruc

I have heard from hubby's sister that they are booked for the weekend we're there, arriving Friday and leaving Monday. :cool1: They'll be able to join us for our DHS and AK days, for our ressies at Brown Derby and 'Ohana, and for our planned night at DTD. Sounds like a lot of fun  and will break up the trip nicely with time with just hubby and I, time with the boys and the g-ma's, and then time as a big group. Ironically, the two parks they'll be joining us for are the two parks they've never been to.

They were unable to get a room at Pop :hippie: so they're staying at the All Star Movies. :happytv: They'll be driving down so they'll either drive over to the Pop and take the buses with us or we'll just meet everywhere. :worship: cellphones!

I have my official packing list going in Excel. We received our ME tags a few weeks ago and got our luggage tags in today! We're getting so close!! :cheer2:

I've decided to name everyone for the trip report. I'm tired of DS1 and DS2 etc. So here goes:

Mr. Incredible- DH- Big, strong and beefy! Seems fitting.
Elastigirl- me- Being pulled in a million directions at any given time. Yup, that fits!
Dash-DS1- Always getting into mischief and has been heard lately saying things are the 'BEST *insert anything from day to pancakes* EVER!'
Jack-Jack-DS2- seemingly innocent but only time will tell how much trouble this lil guy is gonna get into!
Fairy God Mother - my mom- She has always done her best to make all our wishes come true.
Mary Poppins- my MIL- she's a nurse so I can just hear her singing "A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down" lol
Honey - SIL- I can so hear her telling Frozone 'My evening's in DANGER'
Frozone- BIL- laid back and friendly! Overall, an ICEguy. :rotfl2:

So there ya go, hopefully that will help makes things a little easier as this trip report progresses.

Happy New Year's Everyone! pixiedust:

One of Fairy God Mother's favorite sayings is "Man proposes and God disposes", and I'm having to prepare myself for God to do some disposing. :confused3 As much as I plan, things still happen.
There's a possiblity that Mr. Incredible will be promoted and/or transferred (same town different branch). While this is a wonderful thing for our family long term, it's pretty rotten timing wise. There's no way of knowing how quickly this could happen. IF it happens before vacation, there's a possibilty that he would not be able to take vacation. :sad2: I'm trying very hard not to borrow trouble and am keeping my fingers crossed that this won't affect our vacation plans. If it does, we'll deal with it. Mr. Incredible has said he'd want me to go without him, and I probably would do that because it would be a long time before he could get a vacation approved again. So that's that.
If he doesn't get to go, my oldest sister has volunteered to go with us in his place. It won't be the same type of trip, with date nights for Mr. I and I but it would be a birthday trip for the boys. Until I know anything definitive, I'm going to continue planning as if Mr. Incredible is going to get to come with us.

So on with the show - Daily Plans and Goals:

Day 1 - Arrival Day, Wednesday, January 21, 2009!! :cool1:

My mom is driving down the night before and we're going to have a very small birthday party for the boys, just family. I hope to be packed as much as possible that night.

I'm going to take Dash to school Weds and let him go that morning to be there for attendance and to keep him out of my hair. :thumbsup2
We'll pick Dash up around 10:00 am and head to the airport. We'll be parking at an offsite lot and taking a shuttle to the terminal. Our flight doresn't leave til 1:05pm. I should take about 30 mins to get to the airport, 30 mins to park and shuttle. So that still puts us arriving at the check in counter and security with two hours to spare. This should allow for any unforseen lateness *coughs... Mr. Incredible...coughs* :rotfl2: and traffic. I love the Austin airport and they have a lot of local restaurants mini locations there, so we'll eat lunch at the airport. Plus with a one year old, I figure you can never allow enough time!

We should arrive in MCO at 4:35pm. We'll freshen up and then head to ME counter! I hope to be at Pop by 6pm. Mary Poppins should be at the hotel around the same time if things go as planned. I may take advantage of the new online check-in, though I kinda like going through the whole process with a CM upon arrival when it's all fresh and exciting to be there!

Since we are checking in after 3pm, I'm hoping our rooms are ready for us. We'll head to the room, check it out, resort explore and then depending on the moods of our boys, we'll either stay in and rest or head out to explore other resorts. I'm hoping we'll all be excited and ready to go! I'm weird about going to DTD before I get to Magic Kingdom. I feel like it takes away something to see all the merchandise at DTD before I see it on Main Street. Weird hang up, I know. So no DTD for our first non-park night. My plan is to catch a bus to DHS and then another bus to either the Yacht and Beach Club or Boardwalk, whichever arrives first!

Dinner plans are Beaches N Cream but that is subject to whim and current cravings! But I will not be making an ADR that night. I don't want the stress of trying to make it somewhere on time.

After dinner, we'll head back to the hotel to explore Pop :hippie: and chill in our rooms. I'm going to try to keep Dash from getting too far off his bedtime routine (yeah right  ) so I'm hoping to have him in bed by 10pm this first night. Jack-Jack is a night owl so that should work nicely with all our late nights.

I'll set the wake up call for a decent wake up time 9-ish, but by no means are we going to try to make rope drop the first day. I figure we're better off with rested kids! Plus we have two days in Magic Kingdom so I'm not as worried about making all the attractions the first day.

That bout covers arrival day! Stay tuned for Magic Kingdom Day 1 and Date Night Narcoosee's!!! :lovestruc

Disney Wishes!! pixiedust:

Howdy, fellow Texan! I just found your pre-trippie and thought I'd chime in on your meal choices, since DH & I are foodies as well... and have eaten at a LOT of the restaurants you've chosen. :) I really only have one "suggestion" to make... when we were there in July, the food at Wolfgang Puck Cafe had gone waaayyy downhill from what we remembered on previous trips, and we were very disappointed. Citrico's, on the other hand... it was heavenly. By far the best meal we've ever eaten on Disney property. We can't wait to go back to Citrico's again.

I'm so jealous that you're going in just 2.5 weeks! As a teacher (and with a DH who's a teacher), we can't ever travel during the lighter travel season, so our next trip is over spring break in March. I hope you have a great time and convert your DH to the love of Disney!!!!

*Waves up I-35* Hey Michelle and :welcome:

Thank you so much for your suggestion!!! I have read Citrico's menu a few hundred times, as well as Spoodles and Flying Fish, and am tempted every time to change our WPC ADR. There's just one problem. Hubby!! If you read my intro, you know that Mr. Incredible and I were supposed to go to Vegas originally. We ate at Spago last trip and hubby loved it. WPC has the same meatloaf. WPC is the one choice Mr. I requested, so to help soothe the burn of not getting to go to Vegas, I booked it. Me personally, I'd rather try somewhere new.

But thank you so much for your input. :flower3: I'll be sure to pass it along and see what he thinks. Have you eaten at Spoodles? Any thoughts? What did y'all enjoy from Citrico's?

I can't believe we're leaving so soon either! Crazy. This will probably be one of our last trips during off season. As Dash gets older, it'll get harder to pull him out of school plus I'm getting a teaching certificate starting in the Fall, and will be restricted soon enough by school calendars. What grade do you teach?

Your trip will be here before you know it! Thanks for the well wishes regarding hubby's conversion! Here's hoping. I wouldn't mind taking a couples only trip to WDW next January, for sure!

Disney wishes! pixiedust:

Hmm, not sure we tried the meatloaf at WPC, so I can't comment on that one, but I hope he likes it. :) I'll have to find our personalized menus from Citrico's to tell you what we ate, but I'm sure we both had some sort of steak dish as an entree, and I think I had some sort of fried risotto balls as an appetizer. We did the DxDDP on that last trip since it was our honeymoon, so we ate way too much food. :) We haven't eaten at Spoodles or Flying Fish Cafe yet... we tend to eat most of our sit-down meals at Epcot or DTD, and haven't really ventured out to the resorts much. We did eat at Jiko, and *loved* the food, but we got very poor service there - our waiter basically ignored us all night, while giving very attentive service to the table next to us... we didn't end up tipping very generously! However, our service at the bar while waiting on our table was excellent. ;)

I teach 9th grade social studies, and DH teaches 9th & 10th grade math... no, not at the same school, although we did meet while teaching in the same school a few years ago.

Your travel plans and first night sound great, i really hope DH's promotion is juuuuuust in time for you to come back to it! ;)

i wish i could be there for the boys' birthday party but i shall definitely be sending something along :goodvibes:

i can't believe it's so freakin' soon!!!!!

 lulu

Jack-Jack has been sick, still. I thought he was getting better but he started vomiting again, and then would stop for a day and start again. Long, long, long story short when he finally broke out in a rash, they thought to run a throat culture. It was positive for strep, so strep + rash + vomiting = scarlet fever!! :scared1: So he's been really sick, though they say scarlet fever isn't nearly as scary now as it was back in the days of Little Women and Velveteen Rabbit. Hopefully, now that we know what's wrong and have a new antibiotic more targeted to strep, he'll get better in plenty of time to make Disney. I made sure to ask his pedi about our trip and she said all should be fine by then. He will have had 10 days of antibiotics and have been off of them for a while.

Mr. Incredible did get transferred for now but has been told they will cover his duties for him to be able to go on vacation. :cool1: So that was a relief and we're excited about the prospect of this transfer becoming permanent with a promotion to boot! :thumbsup2 Keeping our fingers crossed.

A very dear friend of mine, who happens to be my ex-husband and Dash's father, just became a Dad again. His wife gave birth to their daughter January 2nd. She wasn't due til April. So far the baby is doing as well as can be expected for a not even 26 weeks gestational age baby, but any good thoughts and prayers for her would be greatly appreciated. Her name is Penny and we're hoping that she's a lucky one!

Dash knows he has a new baby sister that has to have help breathing because she was in a big hurry to meet him and came a lil early. He thinks the mask and neoshades are "cool lookin'" in the pictures he's seen.

I'll hopefully have more time for trip plans as Jack-Jack gets better!

Disney wishes! pixiedust:

12 days left, that's insane!

i was looking at the pictures of Penny last night that you'd sent me and she certainly looks like a tough little thing. The doctor said she's spunky and you can sure see it in the photos!

YAY! for Mr Incredible's job situation!!! that's awesome he's still going to be able to go!!

i've been so worried with you about Jack-Jack and it's a relief to know what's wrong; i hope by now the antibiotics are really working (today's the third day? or the fourth?) and he's getting back to his old self. Poor little guy. i guess the fever would have made him even more Jack-Jack like though ;)

lotsa love and twinnie dust!

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom

The plan is to be on a bus by 10:30am. We aren't morning people any of us, and with the time change that'll be early enough. And we do have two MK days. For the parks we only have one day in, we're gonna try to be on a bus by 9:30am. :rotfl: That's EARLY for us. We'll grab breakfast in Magic Kingdom at Main Street Bakery. This will be a first for me, at least for breakfast foods. I'm sure at some point in the last 25 years I've eaten there for something.

The rides are being broken down into three categories for Mr. Incredible -
Green - please please please ride this one, I think you'll love it
Yellow- I don't care if you ride this one or not
Red- Prolly shouldn't ride it, you'll hate it

Big Thunder Mtn, Splash Mtn, IASW ( I know, I know ! But it's a family tradition to ride it first), CoP, PoC, HM

Laugh Factory (if they spot lighted him and wanted him to dance, I'm scared of what he'd do :scared1:  ), Space Mtn ( I'm worried about this one being a tight fit since he's so tall)

Everything else-which is a lot of things I love but I'm scared to push him on the rides factor

Please remember this is for my husband, not my son! :rotfl2: Dash loves it all. He was tall enough last time, at the age of 4, to ride everything except RnR and um TT maybe?? Whichever rides were for 48 inches, he was too short. So this trip, he'll be able to ride everything!! He's super excited and says he's looking forward to the roller coasters most.

Lunch plans are open. We'll grab spots for Spectro and Wishes and then herd out with the rest of the crowd.

Originally, we were gonna put the mom's on a bus and let them take the boys back to Pop on their own. It has occured to me that Mary Poppins is bringing her mini-van, so we're gonna drive over to AKL for our first date night instead of bus hopping all over creation. :thumbsup2 So we'll all bus back to Pop. Mr. I and I will change clothes, freshen up and drive over to AKL for our 9:50pm Jiko ressie. This plan has added to my to do list, because I have never really driven around WDW myself. I plan to bring a map and get directions written down for the places we'll be driving too. She does have a navigation system I think, so I'll be sure to get the resort addresses written down.

That should conclude day 2. The boys will hang out with the g-ma's, possibly playing in the arcade, shopping or watching tv and generally being spoiled rotten!

Jack-Jack is doing much much better. I'm sitting here watching the boys play cars together :lovestruc and it's such a sight for sore eyes after he was sick for so long. I got a call from Dash's teacher Friday morning, asking if I had seen the rash on his hands. :scared1: We all freak out. I felt awful. I never would have sent him to school if I had thought he had strep/scarlet fever. He showed no signs of being sick, and had been around Jack-Jack since the beginning. So I called his ped and got him in asap. The strep test was negative and the doctor thought the rash looked like contact dermatitis. :woohoo: What a relief! They sent the strep test off to see what grows over the weekend, but by the time we got back home his rash was gone. :confused3

Hope everyone is having a fantastic, relaxing weekend!

Disney wishes! pixiedust:

   :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :yay: :yay: :yay: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We'll be there in less than one week!!!! Assuming no one gets sick !! The flu has hit a local high school hard so I'm freaking out that Dash is gonna bring the flu home with him!
I'm gonna try to get Day 2 posted and get all the days posted before we leave. I made Mousekeeping envelopes with scrapbooking stickers instead of printing them out, but I think they're cute enough. I've got a huge suitcase on the dining room table that I'm throwing things in it's general direction that I don't want to get lost in the laundry again between now and we leave. Still adding to my packing list spreadsheet. Sent off itineraries to Mary Poppins and Honey and Frozone! Can't wait! I don't think I'm gonna really believe we are getting to go until we board that plane next Wednesday!!

Disney wishes! pixiedust:

Can i come with you? i'll be Violet! ;)

I'm older than you but I'm not THAT much older! Geesh. :lmao:
That being said, of course you can come with me and be Violet! If you can figure out a way to make yourself fit into a suitcase, I'll pay the extra baggage fee!! :thumbsup2 Cus we are probably going to use every luggage allowance we have.

My gosh, I've never seen so much stuff that's supposed to fit in six little boxes! We're prolly gonna end up using Fairy God Mother's 2nd bag allowance AND I think I've decided to bring Jack-Jack's carseat just because I hate not having the option of taking a taxi if we had to. The way I figure it is if I do bring it with us, we'll never need it, but if I don't we will. Better safe than sorry.

I've decided to take advantage of one of the packing tips on Allears and group the kids clothing in ziplock bags. This should make things easier and allow me to control ( I admit my control freak-ness  ) what the boys wear each day via labeling.

Day 3- straight off the itinerary

Epcot Park hours: 9am-8pm
Breakfast at hotel or catch snack/breakfast in park
Head to Epcot around 9:30am- mostly Future World
