***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

I was never interested in hidden Mickey's until I got stuck on Disneyland's Winnie the Pooh ride. the CM came to evacuate up and rather than it being a bummer he made it the best part of our trip. He let the few families on the ride take pictures in scenes of the ride and made the walk out into a tour where he pointed out hidden Mickeys and told us about the rides history. It was such a cool experience to get a free tour walking through a ride like that. And I realized how many mickeys were all around me on that ride so it sparked our interest and my then 6 year old and I bought a book and have been hooked since.

But that was back when there were slow days at Disneyland in mid week in the middle of February. I dont think that that could happen now since there is never a time when there isn't a queue for a ride so that a CM could close it down and give a spontaneous tour.

Less than a month now for us, and thankfully university is making the days fly by.

Gotta start looking for a nice CG outfit and finalize some last minute dining plans.

These are the colors I picked for October too. The one bummer for me about having an AP is booking room only and not getting the luggage tags! We have some from last December, but I really want both of these that come with orange and purple.
Same exact thought! The last luggage tag I received is sassy Donald. I guess it will have to do.

Hey everybody! Sorry I'm behind on adding our newest adventurers! Work has been all consuming this week. I will do it right now. :)

Hello all:wave2:, I am a September transplant. Moved from Sept 9-15 with MNSSHP on 10th to Sept 30-Oct 5th with MNSSHP on 1st.
I'm bummed about having to push our vacation back 3 weeks. This week was supposed to be light crowds (now im sure it will be no crowds at all) and my new week looks like medium crowds to slightly crowded due to all the transplants (including myself). But surely we will have a slightly cooler average temps :) so that's a positive. I lost my BOG breakfast reservation in the transplant too :( and my new Fastpass times are not as ideal but i got everything except FEA. Lost an hour on our AK day but gained 2 hours in MK :) At least we got to keep our Free dining.

You may find it quite a bit more crowded than slightly crowded that week. Availability was slim pickin's before tons of people moved to October. I dare say it will now be extremely CROWDED :crowded:. I am preparing for the worst crowds I have ever seen at a Disney park and adjusting my plans and expectations accordingly. Word to the wise you might want to do the same.

October is fairly crowded at the best of times apparently.

Ok so I cant seem to find the strength to stop buying things for this trip. And I am by nature a thrifty gal.

I bought new shoes this week because I realized that my tried and true walking shoes are starting to seem a worn down and not as supportive (my shoes wear down at an odd and sharp slope from over pronation).

I bought new athletic socks because I kept thinking how important it will be to have moiture wicking fabric for the humidity and possible rains.

I bought new water bottles and carrying bags to go with the water bottles

I bought small portable fan that plug into our phones-m son needed this anyway because his school cafeteria doesn't have enough room for all students and its been over 100-112 here for 7 out of the last 15 days and there is very limited shade.

I bought 2 new pairs of shorts and a few new shirts for us both

I bought Mickey and Minnie rain ponchos

I bought new luggage

I need to stop buying.........

And Then I got Magic Band shipment part 2 with my blue and purple magic bands and luggage tags and now I just feel further pull to go shopping. Someone hold me down

So now with more people coming in October, I'm thinking at park closings we will definitely be taking advantage of Uber and skipping the buses/monorail! Only for ending the day, not worried about other times.

From MK maybe we will walk to Contemporary and grab an Uber to the Polynesian from there.

There's 5 of us later in the trip, maybe we'll spring for a Minnie Van!

I always tell myself next time will be different, but I constantly buy new things for trips! There's always a shirt, or great deal on something and I can't stop either. Lol

I've had some pretty good luck with crowds on the resort monorail. If you linger around a little in MK and don't leave with the mass exodus, they're not as bad. The express on the other hand, good luck to everyone heading to TTC!

I love using Lyft. I plan on taking it from the GF to BC and walk up the international gateway rather than transferring monorails. That walk is very pleasant.

I definitely want to try a Minnie Van! I hope they extend it to more resorts by my trip!
