HEY GIRLS! What's you favorite DEODERANT????

Okay ladies, I might be dating myself but...there is a deodorant called "5-Day''. It is supposed to last for more than one day, hence the name. My mom has used it for at least 50 something years so it is still around for a reason. The only down-side is that they are pads in liquid but it really works well. Anyone else remember this stuff?! :confused3
I do! I even used it for a while! It wouldn't suprise me if MY mom still used it!

Ok when I read this a while back I had also been seaching for the perfect deo.
I think I have found it: the crystal! I had seen someone had suggested that and went out to look for it. I found it in a roll on and a spray form and I got the spray. It works beautifully :teeth: Haven't had any problems at all, except for a couple times and even then it was managable! Hopefully my luck will continue while we're in WDW!

I had to change post-baby, too, as my old deodorant seemed to stop working for me. I've tried Secret and Suave and they have been fine, but finally settled with Dove (the clear version).

I was using Dove for a few years and suddenly I noticed it was not the same. I do love it but for now I have switched to Lady Speedstick 24/7 and it works great. I did try the dove again the other day and it is still not working. I would not say I smell like BO just weird. Does this make sense?

I'd be lost without my Lady Mitchum clear gel. I sometimes have to go to a couple of stores before I can find it though.

I used Dove too.....it quit working though and I have to say the I LOVE the Lady Mitchum gel! Works perfectly! I love the fresh flowers scent. Smells so pretty.

I have to admit...I don't use ANY!! eeek!!! If it's an unusually humid day I might put a little baby powder there but maybe once or twice a year....and I'll have to give my real reasons...

How long have deodorants been around? I'm sure the fine ladies in the courts of European aristocracy used some aroma or otherwise...but I'm sure the majority of fine ladies before me have never used deodorants...do I think any less of Joan of Arc, Florence Nightingale, Clara Barton for not wearing it? I feel the same way about mascara...what's wrong with my natural lashes? I'm sure there is that 1-2% that have a physical disorder that produces smells just like with halitosis...but I've never been told I had that. I bathe well, use all natural soaps and glycerin and that pretty much does it.

another big factor is health. There are many lymph glands around that area and putting man made preservatives/chemicals/artificial colors/artificial scents in an area that regulates something as important as my blood system just doesn't sound right.

So, all of ya just avoid me when you see me standing in line at the rides! :)

I used Secret for about 10 years and then it caused irritation. I switched to Dove about 3 years ago and have had no problems!

Very timely post!!! I've been thinking the same thing. I've recently switched to Suave which seems to be doing a great job!! Love the scent too.

if you are looking to control underarm wetness, then you should be looking for an "Anti Perspirant". If it is odor you need to control then it should be a "Deodorant". They are not the same...

I look for whatever is on sale and is an "anti perspirant AND deodorant". I use the clear gel formula w/dark clothing (to avoid the white streaks) and a regular stick the rest of the time (I think it is Secret)...lighter clothing.

Best of Luck in your searches!!! :flower:

Degree for me. I like the shower clean scent in the clear solid. Works good for me.

Wow I can't believe how this post came back to life! I sent this out a long time ago! Thank you for all of your input!

 virginiamama-we'll be in the pop century in December too; our first time with ds! Can't wait!

The timimg of this post is perfect...I'm so glad you asked. We have our neice traveling with us...and she's going through all those fun puberty changes...and right now is having an awful time in the sinky armpit area...it's been going on for about a year now. I'm not sure what all she's tryed or what she's using now...But I thought I'd step in and try and help her out (her mom's not in the picture)...

After discussing things with my mom....she absolutley swears by mitchum....So I'm leaning at getting that one for our neice to try. My mom uses the regual mitchum roll on...but I'm 99% sure our neice wouldn't use the regular...it just looks way to manly...so we'll be getting the womans mitchum for her.

Through this thread I've heard ALOT of good things about the Mitchum gel but nothing on the roll on...anyone have any experiences with it?

BTW...Target has the gel and roll on on sale 2/$4... The roll on is fairly small....IMO I think it would fit nicely in a purse or bag to take along for the day...maybe I should grab one for my bag also.

The absolute only one I use is Ban roll on, it's a white bottle with blue cap. I have used numerous brands in the past but when i found this one I never used any other now.

I'm a Ban girl too!!

I love Dove too. After I had my second child I noticed that I would sweat more. I had to switch a couple of times and found Dove to work great for me.

Just got back. Temp 93--felt like 104 with the humidity. Used Dove--armpits were dry. I wished that I could shower in it since the rest of me was sweating.

I did use it under my breasts a couple of times. I am large on top and the wetness was causing me to chafe there and it worked like a charm.
