Hey Disney, Get some good musical acts

The better question is "Whom do you want?" Are your expectations even realistic? I mean I could yell for them to book Pearl Jam, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Tom Petty and the Rolling Stones, but to expect them to do that is just unrealistic...

So who do you WANT them to book is a better place to start...

Did you bother to read the entire thread? I mentioned some ideas.

My kids at work keep asking me if I'm going to see Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers when I'm down there. I keep saying **** no, they'd have to pay me to see them! :lmao: However, I could see more *cough* recent Disney acts that aren't filling up stadiums. Selina Gomez or others that haven't made it big like Demi Levato but are trying to, would be recent that hasn't hit yet, or some of the singers from the Disney soundtracks (Robbie Benson who sang on Beauty and the Beast, Anika Noni Rose (Tiana). Or even showcasing local talent, paring with House of Blues....

You have to wonder though if Disney thinks that the acts they're booking fit to their demographics for those who attend the Festival, or those who'll take the time to stay for the concert.... :confused3 We ate around the world last year (well, :tigger: did, I made a kind of triangle from China to Ireland to France to Ireland to France to Ireland to China to Ireland .... ) but not once did we try and hit the Concert series, and we were more than passing familiar with the acts those night- we were more interested in going to the evening magic hours, or other things we had planned than sitting in an open air amphitheater. Then again, it was H-O-T and record highs when we went.
:goodvibes

I always thought They Might be Giants would be good. Cult following, both regular and kids hits, known for the Malcolm in the Middle theme song and from a Tiny Toons episode and shouldn't be too costly.

I would LOVE this! We are going to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy again this year (3rd time!) but it's the only one we plan to see.

Aquabats would be AWESOME but probably no one knows them. But they wear super hero costumes and play goofy ska songs! :thumbsup2

That's my beef, that in 30 years your kids will be seeing 50 yr old Hannah doing her pole dance and the Joni (or is it Jonuses) doing their bad Monkees rip off. :)

Oooh I had another thought this morning on who to book.... Cake!

They had some moderate hits, have some nice covers they can draw from, a funky sound that fits in well (I think), and they're named after food! Perfect :)

I saw Air Supply in the 80's twice and both times the show was amazing. I also think it's a great opportunity for parents to enjoy a little nostalgia OR some music that is still great no matter how old it is. I would be thrilled to see most of these shows and wish I lived closer.

I certainly don't want to see Epcot taken over by hoards of fans if the act were a bigger, more popular act by today's standards.

Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, etc? Disney is shoving them in our faces (and our kids faces) a little too much already if you ask me. I'd be inclined to avoid the whole thing.

As for the prospect of seeing someone from American Idol? Don't know them - don't wanna know them!

I think Kevin hit the nail on this head earlier. This might be hard to believe for us mega-Disney-fans, but I bet formerly popular musical acts don't think it's the bees knees to be playing in a theme park. Sad? Yes, but true.
