Because he knew he did something wrong and wanted to start showing "insanity" to use as a defense.

Or because he realized what he did and literally snapped.

I don't buy for one second that this guy is truly insane. He tried to cover up what he did, otherwise, he would have just left the body right there. That tells me he knew what he did was wrong. Therefore he is aware of the difference between right and wrong and trying to cover it up.

To an insane person, they may think what they are doing is right (like God told them to do it) but know that they will get in trouble with the police and so want to hide it, so they don't go to jail just for doing what "God told them to" (or little green men from Mars, or whatever).

There IS a differance between being crazy, and being a psychopath. A crazy person would never do what they did if they were sane. A psychopath is a person that just lacks the empathy to CARE that what they do is wrong.

Peterson is a psychopath. This guy in Salt Lake, I don't know, he might have some problems, time will tell, this is why we have trials. As long as he is locked up for life (provided he's guilty, and it looks like he is), I really don't care WHAT happens to him.
