He's gone...

:grouphug:

Godspeed and thanks to you and your DH for your sacrifices :thumbsup2. Your Dis friends will be keeping your family in their prayers ~ definitely a time to lean on your family, friends, faith, courage, and who knows - perhaps even your MIL too ;). Altho not a military wife, as a military mom, I can somewhat relate to the heartache of deployment.

Yay!:thumbsup2

My husband is in Iraq, but they will be doing a lot of convoys and that is the scary part!

Praying for your DH & your family.

Asking God to Send tons of blessings your way :flower3:

Prayers for you, and thank your DH for his service.

DH served a year in Afghanistan -- overall it goes quickly. One of my biggest lessons I learned was "good enough". Things don't have to be perfect -- you just need to make it to the end.

Like many of the other posters, I too thank your husband for his service. I also thank you and your family for your sacrifice. I can't imagine how hard it must be to be away from your husband for that long.

I have heard from friends that are military wives that they are not allowed to post anything about their husband's deployment on discussion boards. Just from this thread alone I can see where you are located, your husband's unit number, length of deployment, when he left and where he has been deployed to. Please don't think that I'm picking on you, but I'm wondering what information wives are allowed to post about the deployments. Are these types of generalities ok as long as you don't get too specific?

Yes...generalities are ok. I DID have to fix my signiture because of it said, "The _____s". It is common knowledge now. It has been printed in the news paper and announced on FB by their unit.

I can't say exactly WHERE in the country he will be. When exactly they left, their route and all of that happy stuff(troop movement). We also don't really have a length of deployent.

Thanks for answering my question. I really appreciate it!

You're exactly right.

The information posted is way too much. Basically all you're allowed to say is that he/she is gone. But that info is best left to family members who also have an interest in their returning. To tell an obscene amount of strangers on a message board is not what you do.

We have her last name---where the Unit was stationed---when they deployed--where they're going and a quick google search tells us exactly what an MRBC is. Those are NOT generalities those are specifics.

We now also now know that she is home alone with two small children.

The FB page is open as is their FRG's page and the information given here is not listed on it as it shouldn't be.

OP,as an Army Wife,I get what you're going thru. DH just returned from his second year-long deployment. Even when home he's in a potentially dangerous MOS. When he leaves that danger is magnified. I would be so po'd if he was put in danger by a spouse. You may not realize that that is what you're doing but you are.

Just because the information you have isn't secret it doesn't mean you tell people about it. You never know who's listening. They can take the info you posted here and find another spouse who posted something somewhere else and put it together.

I know that my Post offers classes thru ACS. You can contact your FRG Leader for information on AFTB as well as OPSEC. myarmyonesource.com is also a great website to go to for information.

I did go over the OSPEC and I'm pretty sure I followed the rules. But if a mod would like to delete this they may. Also...if you can PM where my last name is, that would be nice. I'm pretty sure I deleted it.

You did delete it here. But it's still available due to caching. Which is why even if you deleted the information you put out there it is still available to whoever has a minute to look for it.

Which is why OPSEC has the rules about not posting info anywhere. It's too easy to get caught up in the moment and forget that you shouldn't have said something. And once it's out there it's out there for good.

I don't want you to think I'm picking on you but I have a vested interest in our Soldiers well being. Like I said my DH is a Soldier and not only that I am an FRG Leader and I currently have men deployed.

Oooookay. Well...I messaged a mod to have it removed from here. And the info WE recieved never said to not post info anywhere...just to be careful. And I will be more so from now on. And please do not think you have any more of an interest in our soldier's well being than I do. I am still NEW at this...so like I said...hopefully they will remove this
