He's Going to Camp AND We're Still Going to Disney:) Update Dec 14 post #665

Glad you got see Beauty and the Beast! I love the show!
I'm very impressed with both of your drawing skills! :thumbsup2 Very nice!

Thanks for the compliments on Donald. I deemed mine to be the "anorexic" one. (No offense intended)

DH didn't mention this family in from of us at B and TB that I thought were hilarious. The youngest family member was about 14. There were four older teens (I'd say around 18) and they looked as though they'd rather be listening to anything but "Be our Guest". :rotfl: I give them credit though as their mom wanted to see the show and that's why they went.

I hadn't heard that Beauty and the Beast is closing! How disappointing. I hope it isn't closing within the next two weeks! Very cool that you got to see the sign language interpreters there - I caught a show with them a few years ago and thought they were amazing! They are more expressive than the actors on stage!

I never saw Beauty and the Beast :( But thanks for the pics!! Disney animation is a must do for me but since I traveled with a 4 year old trapped in a 16 year olds body i couldn't do it as often as I liked since he did the equivalent of throwing down his pencil, crossing his arms and going "Forget this!"

Now that sounds like a big sister. :rotfl:

There are many more Beauty and the Best pics on my Photobucket account. Just follow the link in my signature.

I can't believe I missed your whole Pre-TR until today! Crazy!

So sorry about your kitty. Are you only going to tell Declan about the trip once he's in the World next year? :lmao:

Great pictures as always!

But what's with BATB closing? I hadn't heard that! Is it a temporary thing? I hope so! I'm not getting there until December and I wasn't able to take pictures the last (and only) time I ever saw it!

I don't think we dare tell Declan. Some things are just better left between Mom and Dad.

Thanks for the comments about Digger and the pictures. I think I may have to move to a DSLR to get some better pics. It's too expensive to take my old SLR. The film would cost a fortune.

I have never heard anything about BATB closing, maybe MeMom can bring us all up-to-date.

I have been reading on other threads that is scheduled to go out sometime in October, I believe. Don't know if it is true, but I've read it several times. Supposedly, 4 for a Dollar is being tossed, too. There are threads discussing both of these, probably on the Theme Parks Board. I believe the rumor is that Aladdin will replace Beauty and the Beast at some point.

That's too bad, it is a very good show. I can tell you that 4 for a Dollar wasn't there the day we went.

Sorry for the delay folks, we been slacking on these last days of vacation.

After the the Magic of Animation, we decided to ride GMR. I was hoping that we would get the cowboy scene (we never have) but it was not to be. The ride iself is still good but our CMs on the ride were not that great. (It must have been a long day or something.) Pooksma thinks that there are some movies that need to come out.

We decided to head back to CBR to see the new room. We went back to the Customs House and were checked in by Julien from Paris. Pooksma spoke to him in French but I think he wanted to practice his English. We were still in Aruba but we moved to Building 53. It was a very nice room and it was on a corner to boot.

We also got a huge $18 credit due the room mix up.  We both agreed that everyone we dealt with at CBR was very nice and friendly.

After a rest, we headed for Downtown Disney for an ADR at Raglan Road. We were both looking forward to this restaurant, but I think we were both a little disappointed. First, no one was from Ireland. (Although we were told later that the bartenders were.) We were seated in what I would call the outer ring, which made it difficult to see the stage. Especialy when people waiting for tables would come in and stand near our tables and along the half-wall that seperates the two rings. There was one family that even let their son (about 3) run around pushing his stroller while they paid no atentions to him at all.

Minor vent time - this was something I couldn't understand, we watched so many parents simply ignore their young kids and walk ahead of them without any thought as to where the kids were or what they were doing. :confused3

Back to Raglan Road - The food was pretty good and the server was efficient but that is about as good as I found it. As for the food, Pooksma had the Guiness Stew.

I had the Salmon.

After dinner, we had planned on going to the Adventurer Club but we didn't feel up to it. We walked through Pleasure Island and caught the bus back to CBR for the night.

Overall, a great first full day at the World. Next up, AK ( as soon as I get more pictures ready.)

Have a great night everyone.

The room looks very bright and colorful, but there seems to be very little space between the bed and TV for walking. The two windows are nice!

I read an update on the 4 for a Dollar deal. One of the members told a Diser that they were being offered opportunities to try out for other Disney shows, if they wanted to. They were still in shock about the group being disbanded as far as Disney goes, but they are still a group outside Disney under another name, and they make CDs. He seemed like he still wanted to be with Disney, so I guess everything will work out in the end for them. This is only information that I have read on other threads, so don't take it as fact. One Diser posted an e-mail from a member of the group.

I agree about the kids. I saw the same thing several times. I always try to keep half an eye on the child so that when the parent finally takes notice and screams the child's name, I can point to where he/she went.

I'm glad you got to see Beauty and the Beast, since it is closing soon. I love the costumes in that show.

I can't do Rock-n-Rollercoaster any more. Something about the way it twists kills my back. I gave it two tries, thinking the first last time was just a fluke, but the last last time it hurt just as much, so I've scratched it from my list these days.

Nice drawings. Jill wanted to do that this past trip, but we got sidetracked and never made it back.

I didn't know B&TB was closing :sad2: , when is it supposed to close?? I hop we get to see it in October.

Check over on the theme parks board. There have been a few threads indicating that it was going to close soon, but I can't remember when. I want to say maybe the end of September. I will say that I have seen nothing official from Disney, but it is just 'hearsay'. We made sure we saw it this summer just in case it was our last time. I read that it was going to be replaced with an Aladdin show.

The room looks really nice and the food looks good. Looking forward to more. popcorn::

Great that you got changed to a new King room.

I have only seen the western side of the GMR once, I think they only run both shows on real crowd days.

I will miss Beauty and the Beast, its a great show. Knowing Disney, whatever replaces it will be fantastic. pixiedust: I loved the pic of RRC and ToT in the same shot. Glad to see your room was changed. I'm going to have to try the animation drawing myself next year.:ssst: I feel the same as you do with your vents. Can't wait for more TR.
