2009 trip is looking like early August again.

Early August as in 1st, 2nd, 3rd? We're leaving to come back home on the 3rd. We'd love to meet you guys - especially Declan, who by then may be getting taller than Ma! And you guys could meet 'Booken' (how she says her name) and her baby sissa or budda.

I'm guessing you had requested a king-sized bed.

The bedspreads do look bright and new, though. Pop Century is in need of new bedspreads.

Boo on the missing each other again, and just by days. I really hate that. We're back in school in early August, so until I retire, our paths may never cross.

Ok, I guess we can get started.

As you may remember, our plan was to drive to my parents house on August 3, drive to Bangor on the 4th, and fly to Orlando on the 5th. Everything went according to plan but we were all a little preoccupied. You may remember Digger,

He went out on Friday night and hadn't returned when we left. Unfortunately, he still hasn't returned and yesterday everyone seemed to come to the realization that he wasn't. We will all miss you Digger, we hope you are in a better place.

August 4th

We are all up early Moday to take Declan to camp. It wasn't very nice out and quite wet from lots and lots of rain. We dropped off our little guy and headed back to my parents to pick up our luggage. About 4 hours later we arrived in Bangor and headed to the mall to exchange a pair of shorts. Checked into the Four Points Sheraton to find it was undergoing a renovation. Our room had been recently redone and it looked as if it was still missing a sofa. Had a rest and woke up to find no water in the hotel.

Off to meet my brother and sister-in-law for supper. They were in town shopping and it looked as if they bought out Bangor. Great supper back to the hotel (with water) and to bed to get ready for the 4 am wake-up call.

August 5th

Phone rings bright and early, shower and walk across to the airport. We have a stop in Boston and a stop in Atlanta before getting to Orlando. No problems with any of our flights and Delta even gets us there a little early. Our trusty driver, Sam from Tiffany Town Car, was pateintly waiting, as always. A bit of a wait for the bags but soon we are in the back of a new Town Car and on our way. Quick stop at a new Publix and then we pull into CBR. Check in was about 20 minutes and another wait aff about 10 minutes for a van to take us to our room in Aruba.

Custom House later that night.

We get to room 5523 and there are a couple of problems. It is on the first floor (pooksma hates the first floor) and it is not what we had booked. When we changed from POFQ, we had booked a King room. As you can see in the earlier picture, it was a double. Quick call to the front desk and they said nothing was available that night but they would change us in the morning and credit us the diference for one night. I'm not sure why there was nothing available because we had booked a king but what are you going to do. We headed over to Old Port Royale for a quick bite before heading to MK.

We immediately rode POTC with no wait and then walked over to HM. There was about a 30 minute wait but we wanted to see the changes they did in the refurb. Very cool!

After the ride we walked around a bit and ended up on the TTA. It looked like a thunder storm was on the way and when we went in SM, all the lights were on and the ride was at a stop.

Not sure if it was because of the storm or not. After the ride, the sky looked rather threatning and we had had a long day so we decided to head back to the room. We verified everything with the room change and hit the sack.

I promise their will be more pictures and less reading in future updates. Didn't take many on the first day.

He hasn't, we're not ready for that yet.

He and pooksma have been looking at resorts for next summer. He's partial to the new pirate-themed rooms at CBR.

Did you like Caribbean Beach enough that it would be okay to go back there if Declan chooses that one?

Awww poor kitty I'm sorry. I love the pictures though, im a sucker for balloons! Everytime we passed those darn mickey head balloons in the clear bubble all I wanted was to buy one but AKL doesn't allow it, so I took pictures

Did you like Caribbean Beach enough that it would be okay to go back there if Declan chooses that one?

CBR was nice but I prefer Pop. If Declan wants to go, I think we would look at it but I think we may look at another split with Pop and AKL or WL. It was very quiet at CBR but that may have been partly to to the pool refurb. There didn't seem to be any energy there.

Thanks for all your thoughts about Digger. I'm hoping that someone took him in as well. I have been looking through the woods for him but it is tough going.

Glad to be here for the begining of your TR. Sorry to hear about your cat. I would be very sad if that happened to me. (I have two cats) I can't help I'm from Ontario. It's all good. Great pics so far, I can't wait to see more.

Declan is having a hard time since Digger had been with us throughout Declan's life. We are doing our best to keep him focused on other things right now. This TR is NOT one of them


So short update with pics. When we returned to CBR we went to the Customs House and straighten out our room change. We were moved to a King room on the 2nd floor of buiding 53 again in Aruba beginning the next day.

The next morning, it was double TS day. For breakfast we headed to Ohana. This is one of my fav breakfasts and it didn't disappoint. I had expressed some concern in our PT about travelling as a couple and where would we be seated. No problem. We were beside the window with a great view of MK. The character interaction was pretty great![/COLOR]

Short vent here and I bring this up because later in our trip we heard one of the best comments that was related to this topic. I tried to keep in mind that Disney is the Happiest Place on Earth, but I am so sick of hearing people complain about not being able to get a table. I'm sorry that I have ADRs and you don't, but that's not my fault, nor is it the CMs. I do think there has to be a way to fix this situation because it happened MANY times. I don't think it warrants causing a huge scene at a restaurant or shooting dirty looks at other customers.


Rant over. Next up, something I had been looking forward to since 2005 and the hands of fury!

So sorry that Declan is feeling so sad. Poor little guy. We love the little furry members of our family, too, and we'd be lost without them.

We enjoyed an 'Ohana breakfast on our last trip. We might try the 'Ohana dinner next summer. Both of you look like you were having a good time!
