Can we talk about Alamo versus hertz at MCO onsite location?

Is one have better cars (cleaner better maintained)?

Hertz would be a gold membership so bypass the counter.

Renting with a costco deal for alamo. If you use costco coupons can you still do online check in or use a kiosk?

Family is renting a minivan. Alamo is cheaper but they think cars and service is better with hertz (from dealing with hertz outside orlando) so they want to go with them. So has anyone rented from both? They are concerned alamo is a budget type of company.

Have not rented from both but the Hertz Gold status is a huge advantage at MCO where there are lots of leisure (i.e., never done this before) renters clogging the counters.

We have rented from both, and I don't think that one was an exceptionally better experience than the other. I think we did have a nicer car when we rented from Hertz, but I like picking my car with Alamo, and I don't recall that we were able to do that with Hertz (don't specifically remember though)

Hertz offers Gold Choice which is similar to Emerald Aisle and if you are unhappy with your assigned vehicle you can always request a swap. MCO is a huge location.

I personally am a big Hertz fan and have been for many years. Their vehicle selection in experience is superior, but there are some exceptions; biggest one is that their luxury collection is now includes Chrysler 300s which IMO are not luxury. That said, their Prestige, Adrenaline and Exotic collections are amazing!

Hertz provides more "luxury" rentals but Alamo would be a great choice as well. Alamo, Enterprise and National are all under the same umbrella and are normally serviced in the same facility, you will get a clean nice car from Alamo. I like Hertz but they are so much more expensive I don't really think its worth it.

You are correct, a 300 is NOT a luxury car. National, Alamo and Enterprise consider them Premiums cars.

If you are a first time user of the Hertz Gold, you have to go to the counter. If you use Alamo with a Costco deal, you can still do online checkin (with some restrictions, depends on a number of things, but, the site will let you know if it is or is not possible to do) or the kiosk and go right to the garage to select your vehicle. Alamo is not a budget kind of company, the vehicles are clean, new(from brand new to one/two models years) and very well maintained, same as Hertz.

Actually my father is doing the rental (this is their christmas gift to the girls for their birthdays) I am just in charge of planning the trip and finding the best deals etc since we have been a few times so are more familiar with wdw than my parents are. If it mattters there willbe 6 of us and we are renting a minivan. No it would not be the first time using hertz gold only the first time using hertz gold at MCO. So he should be able to go straight to the car then right?

DH and I and the girls will take ME so we don't have to get our bags we have enough tags so we can put our tags on all of the bags so we don't have to go to pick up our bags.

Correct, you can go straight your assigned car/space.
