Can anyone please tell me about the service at Hertz in the airport? I am looking for how long is the shuttle from the airport to their location? Are they usually busy? Or any other information you have to share. Thanks for your help!!!!!

it is a 5 minute shuttle ride. In over 10 years I have only had the bus crowded once

We've had excellent service from Hertz. Probably some luck involved, but we haven't had long waits for a shuttle to the location. We always take an early flight returning (argh) so there's been no wait then either. They do a good job.

Hertz at MCO has always been great for me. The bus is usually always there. Very quick and easy. We do curbside check in before we return the car so we don't have to deal with the luggage.

WOW!!!! Thanks for the quick response...it is very much appreciated. I received a mid-size vehicle from Hotwire for 103.00 for the week(including tax) It is through Hertz. wasn't sure what to exspect. Now I'm excited!!!! Thanks again.

what about if your flying in late? our plane doesnt land until 10:30 the website says 24 hr service can we still catch a shuttle and pick up our car that night

I have taken the shuttle at 2 in the morning. There was a bus waiting outside the terminal. No problems renting late into the night.

I hate hate hate shuttle buses, but I have to say that Hertz makes it painless to a point where I can actually tolerate it. The buses are either waiting or one pulls up within minutes. The lines have never been obnoxious, and we've actually gotten a free upgrade a few times. Even tho' I'm not a shuttle person, I will use both Hertz and Thrifty at MCO.

Hertz (and Thrifty) are just outside the airport north entrance.

After you pick up your car, you come out onto the main drag (436; Semoran). Then right at the last light in sight (Frontage becomes McCoy), a little over a mile, west, is the next light (Conway), Left and instantly another left to get on 528 (Beach Line; Bee Line) west to I-4 west (southwest) to Disney. Exact change not mandatory for the toll booth.

Returning via I-4 East (northeast) to 528 East, get off 528 at its exit 9 (Tradeport/Conway), left and cross under * and get into middle lane. Required right onto McCoy, then next light a mile or so east is Semoran and go left to return the car.

* Nice cheap gas station right there to top off at.

I have to say, this is great information for me, but can someone give me an idea where the Hertz bus is usually waiting? Is there a Hertz desk or kiosk signalling its location?

You go down a level from baggage claim. You walk outside and you will see signs for the various shuttle buses. There are usually 2 locations on each side for Hertz. Pick the first one you see.

But do NOT under ANY circumstances wait to fill up at the Chevron across from Hertz. It's VERY VERY HIGH! :scared1: They don't post the gas prices on any sign that you can see and there is a reason. Even the Hertz bus drivers tell you NOT to fill up there LOL!

Hi All,

Is this info still valid for Hertz? Everyone still having good experiences with them? And the directions still the same? O also the tip about the gas station still true?

We just booked a car over the weekend for our 13 day trip in Dec!!! 1st time using Price-line name your price and got a Mid size car for 13 days for $231 with Taxes ($11 per day was our winning bid on this size car) We are really happy with the price for the 2 week (almost) rental! Also Hertz was the company we got.

We did check the Hertz site and our reservation has already shown up/feed to there site! So we are hoping we should not have any problems. Has everyone had pretty good luck with using Name your own price and showing up with no hick-ups?

Thanks !!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Hertz is now located at the airport. Just go down to the rental car level and you will see the Hertz desk.

The gas station info is still good. The 2 closest gas stations to the airport, Suncoast Energy and the shell station across the street do not post their prices anywhere except on the pump and are charging about $5 a gal.

If you go about a mile further north on Semoran (436) you will find a Racetrac which charges normal prices

We too also won a Hertz car thru priceline recently. We are flying into Sanford, but was curious if anyone who had maybe rented a std car thru them what did you get? Their website lists "monte Carlo" or similar. We would really prefer 4 door and jsut wondering if that was going to be an option or not.....

Hertz has very few two door cars outside of the Mustang and Camaro (both hard top editions); the Monte Carlo is no longer produced or available on rental lots. I think you're pretty safe in getting a 4 door car as both of the forementioned cars are often in higher demand. Exactly what, my guess would be something around a Camry, Altima, Sonata or something similar.
