Hey DIS...

We're planning a stay at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA. We've stayed there before (in the winter) but have never utilized their "Sweet Start," basically the same thing that Disney offers resort guests with EMHs, where Lodge guests can get into Hersheypark early. The Hershey websites don't have very much info on this, has anyone stayed at the Hershey Lodge (or Hote) and used the "Sweet Start" option? Do you know (generally) what attractions are open early for it? Or about how early they usually open them for resort guests?

Thanks! :goodvibes

From what I remember, Comet Hollow and the Tudor area are the only sections open. People line up for the rope drop to rush to Farenheit and Storm Runner right outside of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Challenge (think Buzz Lightyear in MK).

I got there at "rope drop" on a Sunday in early June...stayed "off site" (I'm using terms I think we're all familiar with, even though it might deviate from Hershey :rotfl:) There were no lines in the morning. Apparently it's not a strategy there. So if you were allowed in the park early, it'd certainly be a plus, but to be honest, there's no need for it!!

Ahhh.. okay thanks! It's always good to be prepared! :goodvibes

Thanks for the responses :goodvibes

A funny story.. we went a few years ago.. I was going through security with a disney backpack and one of the guards tried to be cute and said that "those" type of bags weren't allowed since they were the competition.. later in the afternoon we left and then re-entered the park and the same guy was at the front gate again.. he claimed to be "watching me".. :rotfl: but also a little bit :headache:

We always wish they had fastpasses and better queue theming like Disney does.. were going on a Friday so I hope we don't run into really bad crowds..

We only live about 90 minutes away and go to the campground at least once per year. If you haven't purchased you tickets yet, wait and get them at the hotel (but call to confirm what I am about to say). Out side of getting free tickets through Giant, the ticket prices for campground guests that you purchase at the campground are by far the best prices you will find. Better than AAA or any other coupon out there.
