I could have sworn there was a thread about recommendations for hotels around Hershey not too long ago, but I have searched high and low and can't find it. We are going to a Wiggles concert there next week and will need to spend a night there. Can anyone recommend an affordable hotel with space for my family of 6? It's me, DH, and DD's ages 6,4,2, and infant? Does that even exist or will I need 2 rooms? Thanks!

We just stayed at the Homewood Suites in Harrisburg..absolutely perfect - gorgeous - for me, DH, DS 5, DS 19, DD 21, FS 14 and FS 15.

try this site its specifically for finding hotels for families of 6 and up! :goodvibes sixsuitcasetravels.com theres other info on the site but you just type in where your going and they have already done the research for you it will give you all the info on the hotel if it has pools ect.

back in December we stayed at the Country Inn and Suites which is right down the road from the Giant Arena. It is the one near the car museum and is very close to the park, shopping, and restaurants. It had free breakfast, an indoor pool, and had two beds in the bedroom, and a seperate living room with a pull out couch, fridge, microwave etc.

Thank you for all the suggestions!

Also, we're trying to decide whether it's worth the effort to try to do Dutch Wonderland for maybe a day. I don't think we'll do Hershey, just because of the ages of our kids. Do you think Dutch Wonderland is worth it or should we just stick with doing a few free things in the area. The main reason we're going is for the concert. thanks!

We were there last week. Stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites near the park. It was very clean and had a good breakfast.

btw, DD had a BLAST at Hershey. There are a ton of rides little ones can do and she loved the kiddie water area in the waterpark.

We just stayed at Mainstay Suites in Grantville 2 wks. ago. Room slept 6. very close-10 min-to Hershey. Cute pool, putt putt, and basketball, and breakfast. And inexpensive too!

We were also staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Chocolate Ave. We had a 2 queen plus sofa room and had plenty of room for 2 adults and 4 kids (ages 8,7, 6 and 6). The room had a fridge and microwave, and the breakfast was great.

Thanks for all the replies! I think I'm going to book the Mainstay Suites. The pre-paid rate is only $110 and fits our needs since we'll only be staying there one night. Now if only I knew what we were doing the rest of the time there :rolleyes1

Absolutely do DW! Very sweet and low key theme park for the ages of your kids - they'll love it. We go once a year or so.

Hershey is great for kids but kids the ages of your kids would LOVE Dutch Wonderland it is all rides just for their age group . If you want to stay close to Hershey we stay at the Residence Inn in Harrisburg not far from the park the rooms are nice and big and the breakfast is very good . We have also stayed in the Country Inns and Suites by Hershey too the rooms there fit Six as well . If you want to stay closer to Dutch Wonderland there is a GREAT Best Western resort that has a new out door pool area and a great indoor pool as well but no breakfast there we took a daughters friend so we had 6 there and it was very nice ! We go to that area twice a year so if you have any questions I will try to help !
