there is a problem with hero's plan, it would take forever but adam can break out just by

1) decomposeing
2) he can punch full force and his bones would regrow
3)digging would take mabey a week

You cant dig your way out of 6 feet of dirt. No matter how hard you try. The weight of the dirt would push the coffin lid down.
And the dirt that he dug would just fall back on him.
