Hernia surgery more than a new car!

I had Gallbladder surgery and a Hernia repair and my bill was $38,000. For an in and out surgery. I was there for 6 hours and did not eat a thing, nor stay in a regular room.

My son went to the ER for a concussion, they took an CT scan and he did not have a room, he waited in the hallway. They did not keep him the CT scan was normal. The bill was $10,000.

I've had 7 hernia surgeries.....no idea how much they cost. Insurance paid it all.....from those prices, thank goodness!!

And people complain about insurance companies charging too much for health insurance - now you know why. If you want to complain, complain about the pharmacutecal companies, equipment manufacturers, malpractice insurance companies, and doctors. Health insurance can be extremely expensive - for the insurance company!

(No, I don't work for a health insurer, just throwing out a dose of perspective.)
