Hermit Crabs?

Does anybody here keep hermit crabs? I bought mine about a month ago, and I love them. They're such a great pet, and they're a lot of fun (which I didn't expect, to be honest)

I have three, Grumpy, Chompy, and Grover. I plan on getting more soon, but i'm currently moving, so i didn't want to put extra stress on the new ones by moving them twice.

I use to have a hermit crab. We got it when we passed through North Carolina going on our way to New Jersey.

They are a lot of fun! I had a sweet hermit crab, never pinched me. Although I do remember in the hotel room, my brother was holding his and IDK what he did to it but he flinged it across the room because it pinched him, lol...The hermit crab was fine.

i want one, but i dont think they sell those in puerto rico. at least not in the big malls anywayz. :-(

I used to have two (got them from a pet store and had them for a little over 2 years), but a few months ago Cookie died.

Now I just have Muffin, but he's a sweety. He's A LOT more shy than Cookie was, but he's never pinched me at all. He has kept my mom up at night tho, when we were in a hotel room. Because he was making that little, squeaky sound. I don't know how to explain it though...it may be more of a croak than a squeak...or maybe a strange combination of the two. YES!

We had one, he lasted for years. His name was hermie (how original, right?). He was really sweet, never pinched anyone.

He really had a great personality. One day when he was probably four or five he just slipped away, as to be expected..

They're not seen as a pet...
We usually play with them at the beach.

Are those the ones with the colorful shell? I haven't ever owned one before. I had a beta fish that lived for 2.5 years though before it died.

i have one with a painted shell, the other two have unpainted ones.

i've had trouble lately maintaining their humidity. its been around 55-65, instead of 75-85. ):

do you have big pet stores like PetsMart or Petco? you can buy them there.

i think i had six at one point.

one of my big ones actually attacked one of the little ones.
so we had to put them in seperate cages.

and if it looks like all of their legs have fallen off,
dont freak out.
theyre just molting.
i started crying like crazy because i thought it died.

youll know if its dead.
it will come completely out of the shell.
its so depressing.

they only molt at like random times, right? like they don't do it often,and you can kinda tell when they're going to?

only one of mine ever molted.
it was really weird.
the rest of them didnt.
i had one for six years and he never did.

i had 3 and they lasted a long time ....... all 3 died of natural causes...i miss them

i used to get them ALL the time when i was little and they would die right away
but last summer i got one and then it ran away in december D:

i made it a 'crab-condo' out of shoe boxes , it was amazing

I used to have 2 hermit crabs. They had painted shells it was really cool. Both of them were jerks though. I had to give them away because it was too cold to keep them and the lamp that warmed them was to hot so my mom didn't want to leave it on all day. One of them ended up dying but I believe the other one is still alive.
