I called to ask if the code could be applied to my existing reservation instead of the current AAA code.

The CM was actually pretty nice, but gave me a long discourse on the fact that the code needs to have a pin with it that specific people received. She said that they've been swamped with calls from "people who got the code off an unofficial website" and that, if those people don't have the pin/postcard, the rates will NOT be honored. She said they've been made aware of the abuse of the code, etc., etc. She DID go ahead to see if there was any pin connected with my name or my husband's, but there wasn't. So, we're still at the AAA rate.

Just thought I'd tell you what I was told!

I also have a reservation booked at POP using the AAA rate and I actually received an email with the code for 40% off for certain rates at a value resort. I was extremely excited that I finally got a code from disney!
Since I have read that some people were able to get at least the eligible dates for the code rate and even possibly applied to the entire ressie. I thought that I have nothing to lose but time and call.
When I called the number on the email, 4 different times - I got many different responses. One CM could not find my profile in the system and when I gave her more and more info. she found my friends address etc. and I lost my 2 kids - very weird.
Overall from all the calls, I was either told no, not at all or offered the first night only - but would have to check-in/out to save $20 or I can't give you the offer unless you give me the 3 letter PIN (well the email gave a numerical code only - no letters!!!) or I was finally offered SSR studio for my entire stay at the discount (which I should have grabbed for $2300 for 9 nights) :worried:
I plan to call back again as it sounds like Disney is trying to sort all the codes out (there seems to be so many different ones) and perhaps get the CMs on the same book if anything.
Good luck with your plans!

If you are calling with the PIN # offer.. call the number on the postcard or email. There is a special 800# -- CALL THAT NUMBER.

Do not call the 1-407-WDISNEY number with a PIN code. You'll just confuse them. CALL THE NUMBER on your postcard or email. The system will ask you to punch in the numeric code and then the agent will have your record when you speak to them.

Your existing reservation may not be under that same database record, but it's a better starting point.

I guess me plan is to stay with the AAA rate!

I hadn't checked this board for a while and saw so many posts about the 3-letter code. In the posts I read, it didn't mention a pin with it and I thought it was one of the general codes they'd give out a couple of years ago. When I called and realized it's a pin code, I just asked if she could check to see if a pin was attached to my name. When it wasn't, I knew I'd stay with AAA.

We'll be staying at VWL for 5 nts. on rented poiints and ASMo for 2 nts. and I was trying to get the discount on ASMo---it's not that big of a deal either way.

Have fun at POP! Haven't stayed there yet, but always read fun things about it!

We really like POP - we all actually liked it better than CBR last year.
I have been calling the actual # provided on the email each time - but the first 4 calls, I was never prompted to enter my code #. So, I thought I would try again and instead of selecting the modify my existing ressie option, I selected, make a new ressie. I was finally prompted to enter my code from the email. The CM was a little slow and had little to say other than no, I can't use the code. She was very flat! I am still thinking there is hope when I was offered SSR and if offered something similar I may jump on it - even partially if permitted!
Good luck and have fun at ASMovies!

I just called--finally. I have the pin numbers (actually 3 different ones) and tried to book room only for mid August. I had a great CM and she tried everything, but it would not work. We tried entering the pin numbers from each mailing (each was in my adult kids names and we are all going together). She told me the code mentioned in a previous thread should work because it was good until December. But for some reason the code and none of the pin numbers I've received would make my rate change. She assumed that the week I wanted was no longer available or is not a target week. So I will wait for the AP or free ddp to be announced. So I'm one of the ones that does have a pin code (actually 3 different ones) and can't use them.

BTW, not only are each of my pin numbers different, but the phone numbers in the postcards are different too. Since we are a group of 11 I talked with a CM in grand gatherings. She was very good and I was comfortable that she tried everything, short of booking a package. I guess I may have been luckier if I had wanted a package instead.

I think it might be your dates. You said you were trying for mid August, but I think the dates for the 40% off for your time period would start August 21st. May be if you could change your dates the code would work. And if you were trying for after the 21st disregard everything I just wrote.:)

Yes you are correct I was trying for Aug. 15th, but figured since my DIL had no problem getting the week of Aug. 12th I thought maybe there were some other dates available too. I may try for a package and see if I can use that code. I hate to waste 3 pin numbers.

I don't think your DIL got the 40% off discount.. despite what she said or thinks.

Seriously. It doesn't remotely apply during those dates.
