Here's what a little PIXIE DUST can do ....... a dining review+pics COMPLETED!!!!!

Great Kouzzina review, the food looks yummy :)

Love the countdown calendar, v cool :)

I think you and I should fly to Naples and help Nicki make cookies. Not sure how much we would actually get done...I think we'd be tipping a "bottle" of some sort...and don't think it would be vanilla extract. :rotfl2:

What a fun idea! I especially like the "bottle" part of it! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

And yes ladies my rum balls are 90% rum and 10% other stuff :lmao:

Glad you like the calendar, check it out every day, there are some really fun photos in it! ;)

Now, since they seem to be of a rather liquid kind, do you think they would go well with "Glühwein" or "Jagatee"?

(Glühwein = hot sweet wine with spices and Jagatee = more or less rum with a drop of tea in it! :lmao::lmao::lmao:)

Why does this not surprise me? :rotfl2:

:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm going to have to tell ROMEO about this (Karin, to find out about Romeo, go to Nicki's last food report on the last page).

:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm going to have to tell ROMEO about this (Karin, to find out about Romeo, go to Nicki's last food report on the last page).

Tell Romeo to come to good old Europe once he can endure a 12 hour plane ride and I promise there will be lots of treats (liquid kind or other) for him and his Juliet, otherwise known as Kathy!

Oh, and don't forget to open the countdown calendar tomorrow. I guess Nicki will like tomorrow too! :rolleyes1

You found a Disneylicious sign???? WOW!!! And that white chocolate slipper looks yummy....

I like the calendar too!!! I'm NOT going to peek though so I have something to savor every day before Xmas :yay:

Oh....now I'm not going to sleep tonight wondering what is behind window #3. :rotfl2: I know it won't be Starbucks because there are none in DW.

And we would love to come to Europe to see you...except I don't fly well and 2-1/2 to 4 hours is about my limit on an airplane. :sad2:

They used to have that sign on the Disneyland Paris resort buses. And that chocolate slipper was really nice. They used to offer it at the L'Auberge de Cendrillon and even though I am not a big fan of the white chocolate I had it a few times. Disneyliscious!!! :lmao:

Oh, and I would recommend peeking at least once - you will be surprised and there will still be a daily surprise - so go ahead and peek, just once!!;) :rotfl:

Unfortunately you will have to wait until tomorrow! :rotfl2:

That's a shame about you not flying well! Good ol' Europe is so beautiful. Have you ever tried to use some sleeping aids when flying? Or is it some other medical condition - in that case may I suggest a transatlantic trip on one of the Disney cruise ships? ;)

December 3 -- Okay, I'm ready. When do we start? And how many can I have today? :rotfl2:

I am sorry for being absent for so long, but real live keeps biting into my Disney time. As much as I hate it, but the money for Mickey must be earned somewhere! :rotfl:

Yes I am the Rosie from the Mammouth May Meet!! Tiara wearing Grannie thats me !!!!

I KNEW IT!!! I love Alan's review and the meet was one of my favourite parts! :thumbsup2

Loving Dec 3, I so want one of those :)

Awww I love Day 4, so cute :)

We still have lots of tasty surprises waiting, so keep checking back! :goodvibes

Don't have too many - there is lots more to come!
How is ROMEO Mark feeling today! I read your update, just didn't have enough time to reply! Hope the shots help - I am not good with needles and the treatment NEEDS to help!!

I love todays date on Tom's calendar!

Nicki there will be lots more you'll like, I promise!!

Don't forget to check out today's surprise!

Day 21, Sept 4

Breakfast at Boma

We had tried to get to Boma for Breakfast the last two vacations. Both times we cancelled because we were too tired to make it to the reservation.
Now, this time we wanted to really make it there and we actually did. We arrived at the Animal Kingdom Lodge 10 minutes before our ADR time, parked the car and headed to the restaurant. It was BUSY! We signed in and were handed a buzzer. Even though they had told us it was a 25 minute wait, we were seated within 10 minutes.
We had a very nice and attentive server, who brought out coffee for Tom and some hot water and a selection of tea bags for me. Needless to say that we both had some Frunch as well. Sorry no photos!

We both LOVED the goats cheese scrambled eggs. The regular scrambled eggs were good as well. The bacon was crisp and we really enjoyed the Bobotie - corn beef, eggs, cream, potato and onion as well as the Potatoes with red and green pepper and paprika.

When I made my reservations back in May the CM I was talking to told me that their computers were slow, so she asked lots of questions. She especially wanted to know if this was a special vacation and I told her it was to celebrate my birthday - guess what she noted it on ALL my reservations!!!
So once we were back at our table, digging in, the server brought out this plate and a card which was signed by all the servers.

I was really impressed with their "Birthday surprise"!

IMG_3391.jpg

One of the sweets was some kind of jelly rolled in sugar and the other was some kind of dense cake with a very sweet glaze.

IMG_3392.jpg

The others were a Maccaroon - VERY yummy and a chocolate truffle - loved that too!

No, we did not stop there, Tom went to get some pastries to share as well.

IMG_3394.jpg

We liked the Chocolate Croissant, Pecan pastry and cinnamon bun, but I did not care for the Muffin.

IMG_3395.jpg

My least favourite 3 items. The bran thing was tasteless and seemed to "grow" in your mouth. The other muffin was just that - a muffin and the banana bread was tasteless and dry.

But we had something healthy too! :lmao:

I thought it looked gross, but it actually tasted MUCH better than it looked. Fresh fruit pieces in yoghurt!

Fun fact - when I started taking photos of our food the couple at the next table started to laugh and the woman then explained that she did the same thing - we finally found out that we BOTH were taking those photos to post them on this board! :rotfl2:

We paid our bill out of pocket and had a look around the resort before we went back to the car and drove to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Next up - lunch at The Wave.

Oh, I just LOVED that breakfast at Boma's and can't wait to go back. Now, I'm hungry and I've been good so far and have NOT had one cookie of the five batches I've made so far for the holidays.

Every trip we try to fit in a breakfast at Boma. Unfortunately we need to be there in the morning ;) :lmao: which most of the time is NOT easy. :rotfl: But we were glad we did make it this summer!

You baked five batches of cookies?? Wow!! I have decided to buy ours at our favourite patisserie, but I miss the smell of freshly baked cookies! Hm, don't you HAVE TO try ONE? You need to know how they taste, don't you? ;) :rotfl2:

That is Mark's job....he says he has to try them so I don't poison anyone. :rotfl: I'm trying to lose 10-15 pounds so am trying really hard to be a good girl. I think with all the stress, I've put on those 10-15 and they HAVE to come off or I'm really not going to be happy.

Isn't that sweet of Mark to volunteer! :goodvibes :lmao: But I guess he earned his share of "sweeties" at the doctors!
I do understand about trying to lose some weight (need to lose some myself) - if it only were as easy getting it off than it is getting it on! ;)

You should be getting paid by Disney for all the business you are drumming up for them- your reviews helped me choose some restaurants.;)

I'm at VWL right now and we ate at Kouzinna's last night. Due to your review I got the sangria (loved it), calamari (DH and I shared it and he's still raving about it) and shared the grilled whole fish (yellow snapper)- hands down the best grilled fish we've ever had and the tableside filleting was greatly appreciated and a little bit of a "show" in itself. We shared the side of brussel sprouts and couldn't finish it although we loved it and want to recreate the capers/lemon at home when I make them. I asked/strongly suggested that DH let me order for us and he is delighted that I did; he agrees he would have ordered differently and would have regretted it after seeing my meal.

I have loved all the photographs of food porn you have posted- the calamari and sangria were exactly what we got (DH wants me to find some glasses for us just like the sangria).:goodvibes
