After two weeks, here's the resonse I got. Of course my address is right. Kris just ripped some of us off


Dear Karen,
We apologize for the delay in getting back to you. This email was forwarded to us by the staff at Disney awards. After a careful review of previous records, this is what we learned. Disney Dollars were sent out back in October/November of 2002. The address they were sent to is:

If this address was incorrect, it may explain why you did not receive the Disney dollars. If the address is listed as correct then it is quite possible that they were lost in transition. I can certainly sympathize with your situation, however, we cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen Disney dollars. The site previously stated, “We are not responsible for prizes once they leave our hands.”. After talking to the other co-owners, we regret to say that we will be unable to replace these disney dollars. If we did replace them, we would be opening ourselves to a flood of other members who may have actually received their prizes but wish to get more, as well as go against the previously outlined policy. It also takes more un-earned income out of our pockets. Since we have taken over the site we have been flooded with questions and comments and though it is our policy to do our best to satisfy members, we cannot do so in every case. This is why we are restructuring the program and making it private. We want to make certain everything works as it should with a small group as apposed to a large group. If everything goes well perhaps we may reopen the site to the general public.



Again I do apologize for the delayed response but it was necessary in order to review all information and concur with the other owners on how to handle this situation. I am also sorry that we are unable to help you with this matter.

I was just thinking, why don't they (DA) send out the DD with a return receipt requested that the recipient actually has to sign and the post office returns to DA? Wouldn't that help to avoid fraud?? Just a thought......

That sucks! What's to stop them from telling other members that they've sent out rewards if they actually haven't... and then sending out a similar message.

That stinks!!! We all know that NOTHING got sent out in November. I hope she didn't owe you a whole lot. Are the points still there in your account? If so, you should be able to cash out with them at the old rate (if we really do get to cash out again).

The funny thing is that my points are still there but who knows what will happen when the site (if ever) gets up and running. I was only owed $10.00 so it's not much but it's the point of it all.

You know, I do realize that there was that risk of the mail being lost in transit BUT anything I have gotten from other reward sites has NEVER been lost and I have always recieved them. This women has been so dishonest that I just don't believe her anymore!! As far as I am concerned she is a scam artist!!!

I've really tried for the most part to stay neutral but every now and then something is said or done that seriously reeks, is so unjust or takes advantage of the "little guy" that I can't not comment. So, if you want to hear my rant then read on but if not then just scroll on past.

For what it's worth, here's my 2 cents on the whole thing:
It stinks! I mean seriously, anybody can claim they already mailed something and in fact, not have done so. Why would a person do this? Well, a couple reasons come to mind -- it may be to get out paying what is due or to buy themselves some extra time. Looks like here that it's a way to get out of something. Is it merely a coincidence that Tantor, who has been vocal with her opinion regarding DA (as is her Constitutional right) has not gotten paid? I, having never been very vocal, did get paid in late 2002 and got an apology with my letter and I was told I'd get 500 extra points for waiting. Additionally, in the letter was this, "with all the new changes that we will be able to make much more timely payments". Hmmm, I've often wondered to myself, what "new changes"?
She was talking about the new site before she mysteriously disappeared or was it a hint of the "new owners"?

As for Tantor's email I noticed something that I've noticed in all of Kris' posts or correspondences. I mean no disrespect at all to those who are spelling or grammatically challenged, that's not just everybody's thing, per se. For instance, don't even talk to me about fractions, my eyes will glaze over, indicating you've lost me. I just can't grasp fractions. Now spelling, I'm fairly decent at and with the use of Spell Check, I'm even better. Having said that, in each and every one of Kris' correspondences she spells words wrong, generally simple words. Again, no offense but I liken it to a character trait, a part of a person's personality, something they do that is unique to them that makes them who they are and you can pick it out. My point? I've suspected that Kris is the new DA, at least in part. The correspondence, choice of words and spelling of the new DA owners are consistent with Kris'.

So, who is BTK, Inc.? Maybe Brian, Todd & Kris or Betty, Tanya & Kris or maybe Barb, Tim & Kathy ... I don't know, I'm just throwing out it there for thought. But it is interesting that a person doesn't sign the emails. I've emailed CttM before and Bonnie signs her emails personally as does Chris (?) at CR and Scott at PrimaRewards. Even at MyPoints, I got a reply to a question and a person signed it.

All that leads to my final thought -- who will get invited to be a member? Well, I think it's safe to say that Tantor will not and now that I have been negatively vocal, I will not. If we did I'd fall off my chair, probably breaking my arm during the fall and not be able to click anyhow. It's like a private club now, invitation only. What are the criteria? I don't even want to go into the possibilities there of discrimination. If I were to hazard a guess though, I'd say it's the people who have never complained, have said "Oh, poor Kris, here's money towards a new computer (yes, that was a post on the DA boards), give her a break, she's doing all she can" and other such nice and positive posts.

And that's fine, it's not my business, I'm not a partner and as long as it's legal then there's nothing that can be done. However, I still think a lot of people got ripped off. I do not believe that every single sponsor refused to pay. She had to have been getting money from some of them, especially with all those pop-ups. What percentage of the members really got paid exactly what they were owed? How many members know how much they were owed? I know I don't because I lost points on at least two occasions and got told that these can be put back but not these, here's some extra points for waiting, but not enough extra as per her posted guidelines.

I guess that's all I have to say, if you've read this far and are offended I apologize. I don't mean to offend, only to point out some things I've noticed and things folks should be aware of and take into consideration when/if they are invited to join DA. I wouldn't jump on their new bandwagon until I had more facts about who they are. Somebody posted somewhere that the DA domain name was still registered to Kris. New owners? Hmmm.

You verbalized a lot of my thoughts.

I strongly suspect that Kris is very involved in the New DA. When I saw the initials BTK, I immediately assumed that the "K" was Kris.

I also believe that the reason that Tantor has not been paid may be connected to two things: She was very vocal in expressing her displeasure with DA and she is Canadian. As a Canadian citizen, she is not protected by the same laws as US citizens and so Kris may not HAVE to pay her.

I also believe that the only reason that I got paid is because my SN here is not the same as my DA SN (my DA SN was already taken here). Nonetheless, I do not expect to be reinvited to join the New DA and wouldn't join if offered.

My thoughts exactly Belle! Add my list to the list that won't be invited back. At first I was one of those who felt Kris was trying to make things work, but my bubble was burst after numerous unpaid rewards and promises were broken and yet she continued "changing" the site and pumping money into it. I too would like to know who the "new management" is. Probably the K stands for Kris. I hope she hasn't brought others into the managing the site with promises that she'll never be able to keep.

She's just going to have a whole new group come in and do the same thing she did to us and then take all the money and have another free trip to Disney. Must be nice.
