Here's an interesting question.

If you were leaving Disney that day what would you do with leftover meal credits?

  • Use them though you might have just eaten.

  • Not use them, not getting the money back anyway.

  • In a CS rest. walk up to register and offer to "pay" for someone's meal.

  • Offer someone your credits for half what it would cost if the family was paying for the meal.

Disney had a similar plan that we paid for on our first trip in 1998- it was a pre-paid meal plan and it was use-it or lose-it. Despite our best efforts we had about $150 left in food/beverage credit after our last breakfast the day we were leaving. We then stopped in at Beaches and Cream for a quick lunch before we left and I decided to give our server a huge tip- I think I added a $75 gratuity to our bill and I even checked with the manager to make sure that I could do it.

since we usually drive i'd proably use them for a meal to take to eat the next day on the road ( we also have a cooler we bring) but if not it would be nice to find a family with a gazzillion kids and buy them a meal

We ate at Casey's on our last day at WDW last month and had extra credits. I hung out near the register and waited for someone to order meals (most people were just getting water...it was HOT!). When I finally heard someone order lunch for his family I stepped up and asked the cashier to use my credits. The guy thought I was absolutely nuts (he had never heard of the dining program). Finally he realized that his bill had gone from $30 something to $3 (extra fries I think!). It was fun to do and made leaving just a little bit easier knowing we had made someone smile that day!

We would give them away. We give away fast passes all the time and I spend a lot of time explaining the fast pass system to people when I do it. Amazing that there are still so many people who are in the dark about it.

I'd like to think that I'd pay for someone else's meal, but honestly, people give you such strange looks when you just try to give them your fastpasses, that I don't know if I'd be courageous enough to try it! :confused3

Aubree--you sound wonderful! And I know what you mean about the "looks"
