I have booked with a TA and she has booked all my ADR's.
If I have changes or questions regarding my room reservation I have to go through her. But could I have technically made my own dining reservations? Or was I correct in assuming she had to do those as well.
The only reason I ask is because I have made the poor woman change things for me about a million times now for different reasons (not really a million.. but I have changed my mind alot) and it just occurred to me maybe I could be giving her a break and changing my own dining ADR's?
Does anyone know?:confused3

I don't see why you couldn't change them yourself. All you need is your name and room confimation number. I could be wrong though I never used a TA.

We always use a TA and we often change our ADR's millions of times too! :lmao: I apologize every time I write her and she tell me not to worry about it...that is her job. I would guess if you had the reservation number which is assigned to each ADR, you could change it yourself. But if your TA is like ours, she mails us a final itinerary a week before our trip and I know that I would be very confused if I didn't keep good track of what I had changed or she had changed and not know where the heck I was supposed to be when.

Actually.. that answers my question. I didn't get a room confirmation number. She gets that.. so I am guessing she has to do it.
Sigh.. I am starting to fell pretty awful about bugging her again. She has been wonderful.. and never even hinted at being annoyed.. I am just starting to picture that she mutters and throws things whenever she sees a new email from me:rolleyes1

I went through AAA, and made all my ADRs on my own. Why didnt you just make them yourself?

My TA has always sent me a copy of my reservation which includes the confirmation number would get sent to you but it also lists your Travel Agent at the very top with her company info. Just ask your TA to send you a copy it shouldn;t b e a problem and you should have it anyway for your records in case there are any issues upon check in.

As for making ADR's yourself you can do it yourself or have your TA do it. This time I had My TA do most of them but there were a couple I decided to add in and truth be told, I needed a Disney fix so I called those in myself. It isn't a big deal.

Making ADR's is a service that most TA's that specialize in Disney vacations do as part of their service. AAA offers Disney vacation packages but they often do not have a TA that is specialized in Disney vacation planning. Maybe this is why it wasn't offered to you. Having the TA do it is just one of the perks that Many agencies offer.

For my first two trips to the World I had a local travel agent book my trip for me. Even though she booked flight, room, and park tickets I still wanted to book my ADRs myself. All I had to give the disney dining CM was the phone number I used when booking my trip with the agent.

Now I book everything myself and leave the travel agent out of the picture. It's not so hard...

You should be able to call disney dining and give them your name and phone number and they should be able to pull up all of your ADRs.

I hope this helps...

We booked through a TA and I made my own dining reservations. I'm so glad I could do it myself. I got exactly what I wanted....after calling a million times. :yay:

You could have made them yourself if you didn't need to use the 180+10 rule. Anyone can make ADRs - a confirmation number is not needed unless you want to call on your 180 mark and then make ressies for the next 10 days.

I'm not sure what your profession is but if you get a customer that is "bugging" you, what do you do? You do your job.

My husband is in the purchasing department for a large company. He works with the plants all the time. Some plant managers are more "difficult" than others. Sometimes he cringes when the phone tells him one manager is calling him. But he picks up the phone and takes care of whatever is needed. Because that is what he does and how he gets paid.

When your vacation is over, send the agent a nice card. And really reward her by continuing to use her.
