Hi Kim,
Very nice decorations! Even more nice is your house! I love it!

Hi Sharon and Dana who are on and off....we're catching up on NCIS, I'll be here at my lap top all night, until we go to bed....

:wave2: Hi Alison. I was just wondering if you were logging in soon....

How's Fran?

Are you sitting and resting now?

I'm pretty tired and thinking of having an afternoon nap.

We're watching the Season Finale of NCIS from May on DVD, we have this year's episodes on our Tivo...so we'll be caught up soon...7 years of episodes in the last year!

Considering the three joint replacement surgeries in the last year, we haven't gotten out much. This may very well be remembered is mine and Fran's history as the year of being shut in. We have so many TV shows subscribed on our Tivo, if we start getting out in the future we'll never have time to catch up!

Hard to say about her pain. She has stopped her Fentanyl pain patches, but because of her surgery she was prescribed a timed release morphine and then she asked our personal physician for a fast acting morphine. I'm not sure if she is supposed to be taking them together but she is, and that is probably why she can get by without the Fentanyl.

She has been getting out and around so that's good, and she is able to get in and out of the car much easier than before the surgery. Hopefully this will eventually translate to ride vehicles that she can get in and out of easier! I hope that she will be able to go on rides again eventually. For now, I'll be happy with her getting out of the house and getting around.

Next will be going out to dinner. I asked if we could do that tonight, but it caused her to start crying in fear of the pain of going into a restaurant and trying to seat herself at a table in an unfamiliar place. We ended up having a frozen sort of meal that was easy to prepare.

Well, at least she seems to be moving about more freely in familiar surroundings.

Is there a restaurant that she knows well that she's prepared to go to?

The place I was suggesting was a pretty familiar place. Just a "coffee shop" type place, it's gay owned an operated, and they serve plain ole american cuisine, burgers, sandwiches, spaghetti, pot roast, chicken fried steak, fish and chips, and breakfast all day. She's just afraid that by dinner time, she is too tired to go out anywhere. We decided to stay home tonight so that we could watch the critical end of the season/beginning of the season of NCIS. See we've been waiting all year to "get" the episodes we needed on the Tivo, finally she broke down a bought the DVD of the 7th season so we didn't have to play Tivo roulette! Now we're caught up.

Well, maybe she'll feel like going out next week.

YAY for being all caught up!

I'm not going to hold my breath...At least the week before surgery we dined out a lot because I doubted we'd be dining out for a while...probably the next time will be on Thanksgiving (which you obviously do NOT celebrate), but since it will only be the two of us, I want something nice not our normal stay at home while I cook something. Even if I made a turkey it would be just like when I cook a Turkey for the two of us, which I do several times a year.

I would love to celebrate my next weight challenge by going to Shabu Shabu, but then I would probably weigh in a couple pounds heavier, even though it's a healty way of eating, I would eat way more than I should portion wise, but once I clear 200 lbs, if Fran will take me, we're going to Shabu Shabu!!!!!!

Keeping everything crossed for your weigh in! And dining Shabu Shabu style.

Alison, could you guys maybe try going out for breakfast or lunch? If she's concerned about being too tired by dinner, an earlier meal may appeal to her more... Just an idea :)
