Great plans.
Are you planning to get Universal's refillable mugs (which you can bring back)? Reason I ask is that last year mine didn't have a handle, so it flopped all over the place (so I chucked it, dang), but I think your water bottle holder may be just the ticket to keeping it contained (it's sized like a Six Flags mug).

This box is stuff that we use in Florida, but have no real use here so we keep it at my parents. It's like our own personal owners locker...without the monthly fee

I have one, too! Mine's a Vera Bradley box and it lives on the top shelf of my storage closet.

It also hase cup holders!

Sigh. I miss cupholders.

Finally, baskets for organizing all our carp in the room:

That's brilliant!!! I need to grab me a couple of those. I always wind up with a small pile of "don't forget this in the morning" stuff (watch, ID bracelets, room key, tickets, etc.) and a small basket would be great for keeping them together!


Janet, I'm leaving what - a week earlier than you? I've done almost none of the above yet. I did manage to pull The Box down and glance in it. Does that count?!

I also decided I wanted a Chip and Dale shirt for Jimmy to wear to our dinner at Garden Grill. Since I am not creative (and why I gave up my title as official Focker Monument Builder) I contacted our Focker friend Tracy (MrsK) and asked her if should would be able to create something for me. She did and it's fabulous. Actually she did 2 and both are great, I can't decide which one I like best. If I can get Tracy's ok I will post them for you!

I love that you have your own version of the owners locker . I am also going to have to get some of those little baskets, what a great idea. I don't judge anything you do, if it works why change it?

As for the Chip and Dale designs, post away, I might suggest posting a smaller version since I gave you the huge version . Also, what are Jimmy's favorite colors, I found one more Chip and Dale that might work, you have created a monster .

You sound so organized!! Love those little baskets! I'm wondering where I can get the water bottle holders? I wonder if my boys could each clip one onto their belt loops (then I wouldn't have to give them fanny packs cuz I'm not holding three bottles of water in my Travelmate LOL).

That's exactly what we use them for. Jim's wallet, keys, etc. ALl the little carp. We also use one or 2 in the sink area to keep that organized too!

Mini-Update.​

Tomorrow is our 30 day mark and I realized at work today that I never made our countdown calander I came home from work and Jim and Jimmy weren't home so I got right to work.

Thanks to a Diser on the creative board (I can't remember her name, but thank you anonymous Diser) instead of doing aposter board countdown we did a chain countdown. It looks like this:

Jimmy will rip off one chain each day until the day we leave when there are non left

I also "made" Jimmy's autograaph book. I didn't want to buy 2 autograph books, since we are going to Universal too. I thought about making one myself. Yeah, that though lasted all of 3 seconds Then I was in the Hallmark Store when all the graduation stuff was out. There I found a graduation autograph book and that's when the idea formed to "make" one myself. I bought the autograph book for $3.99 and then decorated wtih stickers (both DIsney and Universal characters) I thought it was apprropriate since this is the year Jimmy "graduated" from Kindergarten. So here is that that looks like

Lastly I put all of our information into the trip notebook. ADR's, confirmation #'s etc.

Got the bottle holders at the dollar store...see this is why I never spend only a dollar there

They're $7 or $10 the first time, then $.69 to refill (actually, if you belong to AAA, you save like 10%, and yes, I am that cheap that I showed my card for a refill). It's at the parks, and shaped like a souvenir cup, rather than a coffee mug.

Janet, I've done the chain count down as well and it's awesome to watch it shrink. B asked me the other day if we could make one for the trip in January, but I had to say no...the stupid thing would wrap around the house! Too many days.

I'm glad your mom made it back okay. She could have stopped here along the way. I give her so much credit...what a loooooong ride to do solo.

Oh, and the basket idea I'm taking that one, too.

WIll have to look into this. Can you get them anywhere? The only thing I'm not looking forward too at US/IOA is all the locker stuff. I'm trying to figure out how I can get away without carrying a bag while we are there.

I just heard of a dryer sheet type of thing that has washing powder in it and then it goes in the dryer as a dryer sheet. Never seen it but probably very easy to travel with.

The only thing I'm not looking forward too at US/IOA is all the locker stuff.

The last time I was there, I had to put my mini Vera in a locker to ride. Not allowed to ride with it across your body. It wasn't actually too bad because you put your stuff in a locker, ride and then get it back out.

This update is going to be short on pictures, but I wanted to give a quick update on some more planning that I have done.


I have created our mousekeeping envelopes (again thanks to Tracy )

I have planned all of our days at the parks thanks to Ridemax. Thanks V and T for the recommendation. This program rocks, even Jim has been playing with it. If it works half as well as it is supposed to this will be the most stress free vacation EVER

I have started making packing lists for me and Jimmy. Jim is on his own. I asked him to give me a list and it said pants, underwear, shirts, socks

Lastly I emailed my mother with our list of things I need her to pick up at the grocery store for us. (Our own personal Garden Grocer, without the delivery fee


My desktop countdown ticker says 27 days, 23 hours and 50 minutes
