Just wanted to post really quick before my 24 hour internet connection is up! Went to Mk today, walked right on Splash Mountain. Space Mountain had a 20 minute wait at the longest. Nice low crowds. Skipped EMH at Studios last night because it was too cold to leave the room! It was something like 26 degrees with wind chill. Much nicer today! High of about 58. Tonight it is supposed to be in the 40's. We are in a one bedroom at OKW. Post if you have questions since I will probably be online (every other day) again Wed-Thurs and we plan to do EMH at AK tomorrow night and at MK Wed night. Gotta go!

I've never gone when it's cold. Do you get splashed much on Splash Mountain when it's colder outside? Do they reduce the water or something to get you less wet? During the warmer months, you can get soaked.

Thanks for the warning, Carrie !! I have the gloves and headbands packed - we'll have our winter coats on, anyway - lots of layers packed, too ! 60 sounds great to me - it'll be nice . . . to leave the ice !!! :smooth:

Let us know how EMH evenings are this week - ENJOY !!

I hope you all are having fun!! Sorry it is so chilly! I hope your DS did well on the plane and that your whole family has a great time!

When you said that Splash Mountain was a walk on and Space mountain at longest was 20 minutes, was that at the very beginning of the day, or the middle of the day when the parks are more crowded?
How is the overall feeling in the parks...does it feel crowded and there is just no ride lines? or are the people pretty sparse in the general areas too? OH and how does it compare with the beginning of December when you said you normally went? Sorry so many questions, but we are debating both those times for the exact time next year!

Hi--
We're most interested in finding out about Evening EMH, how bad are the crowds, etc.
Thanks!

Hey, lady! Hope you all are havin' some fun! Definately give us a heads up about the castle redo. How do you like OKW? They're calling for a "wintery mix" here Saturday when we're supposed to leave so we might leave on Friday instead. I've almost got my senior crewl stoked on the idea of getting there Saturday to see the country music singers at Epcot. We're going to wait and see what the weather forcast is on Wednesday and make the decision.

Hug that youngin' for me!

I understand 40F is cold for Florida but let just say I'll take that over the
-30F(that is including the wind chill factor) it was here this weekend and it is supposed to stay like that all week!!!!! :teeth:

Hi Carrieberry! How's your DS doing? Hope you are having a great time! Stay warm!

9 more days to go. How is the castle looking & how are the EMH at night MK?

Hi everyone! Let me see if I can answer all of the questions!!

We went on Splash Mountain 3 times in a row last night. Sat in the back twice and in the front once. Definitely got wet! We bought the picture because we had the entire log to ourselves! EMH was great! Not sure if they change the water to a lower level because we did get wet!

EMH this week have been great! Doing Epcot tonight! We did MK last night and the longest wait we saw was 10 minutes fro Space mountain. We walked onto everything! Not much to see at EMH at Ak since only Festival of the Lion Ki9ng and Dinoland are open. We spent most of the evening walking around an empty AK taking pics. Great trails and stuff. Worth it just to go walk around and see all the details of the park we never noticed. It was the least crowded I have ever seen both parks. Just great!! Warmed up to sweatshirt weather in the evenings, or light jacket and t-shirt weather, Daytime is good fro jeans and tshirts. It has been great the last couple of days, but I hear another cold front is coming in so bring that stuff!!

Rumor has it the construction work on the castle bgins tomorrow. Let us know how bad it looks and how much is covered up.

We were there last night and as far as the front of the castle goes it looked just like normal. No work that i could see. We walked past the carousel in Fantasyland right after Wishes and they had it roped off, but i think that might have been for Wishes. I did not see anything different about the whole castle area other than the wall around the hub. It was beautiful as always!!

We are having a great time! We got to the plane right at prebording which was perfect since we did not have to wait at the gate, but then they could not shut the door to the plane so we had to get off after sitting on it for an hour. We had to walk to a totally different terminal! Finally we left-2 hour delay!! He did excellent on the plane after take off and loved landing! Thanks for asking!

I think we got there at about 11 am or so. We stayed for a few hours, so ite was more middle of the day. We are not early risers! It is less crowded than early December, but weather is a little chillier. Not much though! The feeling in the parks is great! Nice and sparse. No fighting to move past people. The general areas feel very open and spread out. We have been able to let our son just kind of walk on his own without hand holding at Epcot, especially in WS. It is easy to keep and eye on him!He is loving it!! Boats to and from Epcot from Studios have had practically no lines when in Dec there always was a line.We have been driving our rental car to the parks from OKW. just fatser and the parking lots have not been crowded. We have either been able to walk to the entrance, or take a very empty tram. I think it is less crowded right now and I think in the future we will come in January next time again!

Empty! No seriously there are people but no waits. We were able to walk onto SplashMountain,Thunder Mountain, Stitch, Buzz, TTA. We waited about 10 minutes for HM,Space Mountain, Speedway, Pooh. At AK we waited for no rides-all walk on and very uncrowded. We spent most of the night walking around the empty park just enjoying the atmosphere!

We are having a great time!! Thanks! We LOVE OKW. In fact it will probably be where we stay from now on!! After having the one bedroom, we just can't go back and stay in a regular room! The jacuzzi tub is wonderful! Having a washer and dryer is so great!! My Dh is now wanting to join DVC!! This is a person who every trip says "We aren't coming back for a few years now." I am so excited!! Defintely keep an eye on yur weather. The desk said they had 40 no shows over the last few days, due to weather issues in guests home states. Leave while you can get out!! LOL!

Thanks so much fro asking! He is doing great! Only a couple of meltdowns. We actually started calling them can-trums. Candy Tantrums! He sees all the colorfl candy and wants it all! No meltdowns from overstimulation though!! He is doing phenomenal! He was great on the plane, and is up early wanting to get dressed and hit the parks. He even lost his first tooth on Monday night! He did great at the airport too, going through security was a breeze! Flight was delayed and we had to eventually get off the plane and go to a different one so that was difficult, but could have been much worse! All in all he is doing GREAT!!

See above answers! You will have a blast!!

Thanks all for your questions! Coming home tomorrow to get started on my trip report on Monday!

We're leaving Friday morning instead of Saturday morning now. We'll be at POP the first night then moving to BWV. Glad your DH is thinking DVC! Once you do a 1BR it is hard to go back to a studio or regular room. We'll be in studios this trip though. It's a no cooking kinda trip. We love the kitchens and washer/dryers when we have kids along though.

jennymouse-

We will see you there!

We are leaving tomorrow at 7:20, staying at POFQ. I have to say, I cannot wait to get out of this New England Snow!!!!

Have a safe trip!

If you see a Pooh sized lady trying to keep up with three seniors (2 male, 1 female) on scooters that'll be us! Say Hi!

Hey, carrieberry--Thanks for taking the time to answer all our questions! Especially in the middle of a trip--wow! I just hope the crowd levels hold (just under two weeks to go) and the weather warms back up :cold: after the coming cold! (Oh well--it's still Disney World. Gonna have fun either way!) :jumping1:

Thanks, carrieberry !! Sounds like you're having a wonderful time !!!

Just checking the DIS one last time (in between loads of laundry) - suitcases are on the beds - we're out of here at 5 AM !!!

Hope to see some of you - we'll be at BWV from Sun - Tues (then I'll be back at AKL alone the following weekend - sending my 'men' home and visiting my FL friends for the week) - Yikes, I'd better get busy !!! :smooth:

Thanks so much Carrieberry, I think I have been watching out for your posts more than anyone's since you had been there the two times we were debating. I think that you just made up our mind on when to go now! ;)
I am so glad you had a great trip, and I can't wait to see your trip report!!
By the way, I always laugh when I see your avatar. Looks like me on trying to choose when to go! Hope you have a great trip back! :Pinkbounc
