We just arrived at Windsor Hills for our first stay this afternoon. We rented the Never Never Land condo from Florida Sun Vacation Homes. This unit is fabulous!
We had looked at the pictures online several times over the last few months but even knowing exactly what it looked like, it has exceeded our expectations. Everything is very clean and the furniture is very comfortable. The kitchen could be a little better stocked in terms of cookware, but I don't anticipate making any four course meals anyway so it has everything we need. We had a very early flight out of Syracuse this morning, so even though we arrived in Orlando at 10:15 a.m, we knew we would be too tired to spend a day at the parks. Instead, we had a nice lunch at Perkins in the Crossroads Shopping area, and then went to Ripleys' to kill some time before we could check in at Windsor Hills. Many thanks to a fellow DISer, Melynny, who sent me a coupon from the Entertainment book so we got half price admission to Ripley's.
We arrived at Windsor Hills at 2:45, and spent the 1:15 mins waiting to be able to get in to the condo by exploring the grounds, pool, games room, and store. We could have used the pool, but since we didn't have access to the condo we didn't have any towels so we just sat in the shade in the breezeway, did some shopping, etc. Once we got inside we quickly unpacked and then went to the pool for an hour. The pool was very warm, the hot tub was great, and the kids loved the pool slide! Very nice and friendly lifeguard told us all about the resident 'gators in the lake behind the pool.
After the swim we went to Publix on 192 for some groceries and something for supper. We picked up a carton of fried chicken from the deli, and I made a pouch of Sidekicks rice and some garlic bread. While we were eating I also put in a pan of (ready to bake) Pillsbury Oatmeal Raisin cookies. How nice to have a nice cup of tea (Tetley, of course, I am Canadian you know!) and a warm cookie.
