Here Now- need Magic Band help!

Last October we went to Disney, planned by a travel agent. Our magic bands were linked to an MDE account that she created and gave us our passwords to.

Decided to plan an anniversary trip, but created my own MDE account because I didn't want her to see our plans. Bought tickets and have the plastic cards. Is there any way to link our "old" magic bands with this new MDE account and tickets? We are staying offsite so we didn't get new bands.

No, you can't transfer them that way. For future reference though, I'm pretty sure you can change your MDE password online and even the email if you call

No - the disney website basically states that once bound to an account a magic band cannot be transferred to another account.

Might want to pick up some anniversary bands?

As long as you changed the password on the TA-created account, she wouldn't have been able to see into it, I bet...

I was on the phone with tech support for over a hour. And they couldn't move mine. They could move my family's.

No. It's only on site Disney hotels. The hotels you book through Disneys website. I know the swan and dolphin aren't full Disney hotels or something like the others, but I believe they still get free magic bands

No, your plastic ticket can be used for park entrance and FP lines.

The only thing a MB does that a plastic ticket can't do is link ride photos on 7dmt. No scan point for that ride

Otherwise they both do the same

Do I need them ?

No one needs them, their just convenient to have. Also a lot easier to get all your ride photos since their automatically added to your account and you don't have to tap anything after the rides.

You can purchase magic bands in the parks if you want. They start out at $12.95 I believe it is and go up depending on limited editions and such. But if you opt not to use magic bands, your card you'll get will work just fine

Thanks everyone. Wish I had thought to just change our password before, but I was so irritated with our travel agent I wanted to get as far away as possible!!
