Here now fourth FP+ is a mirage

I haven't read all posts but my experience was this last week
EMH morning AK- EE /rapids / dinosaur all "limited " by 10am
. EMH Epcot everything was pretty much gone , we didn't even bother for a 4th here since the rides available all had a 5-10 min wait.
DHS - we did our 3 and were able to get then around 12 get 4th fp for RRC then a 5th for Star Wars , we left after that 7pm so we didn't try again
MK EMH morning ( yesterday) we have 4:45 A&E but after that we did a 4th 5th and 6th fp for most expect the mountains ( POTC , Jungle cruse, haunted mansion ) . Thunder mountain was available at 10:20 , but we were too tired to wait that late. All were available right away , why people were waiting 40 min for jungle cruise when they could fp it is beyond me . I can't believe they all had late night fp . I really think some guest have no clue how to use the system so they wait in line .

How do you get a 4th fast pass at the kiosk. Do you scan your magic band? Do you log into your account? Can anyone do this or does one person have to do it for the whole family? Ie can two teens jus go themselves to a kiosk and get another pass with out the rest of the family getting the same?

We just returned from our 5 day trip. The only park where additional fast passes were helpful was the Magic Kingdom. BUT, some of the lines at the kiosks were incredibly long and slow. The line at the kiosks was particularly brutal. I think that I'd rather wait in a 30 minute shaded/air conditioned line for a ride than to wait for the same amount of time (or more!) to have the opportunity just to (try) to get another FP.

We did get additional FP for the MK while we were there. The kiosk by Buzz Lightyear was not nearly as busy as the others we had seen.

One day, we got a FP for the Haunted Mansion after dinner.

Another day, we were able to get a FP for Aladdin and another FP for Small World.

Every time I avoided the Fantasyland kiosk and walked to the other kiosk even if it meant more walking for me.

So what you're saying is you need a fastpass runner to go to the FP+ kiosk that is least busy?

Completely agree. We are just back today and found FP+ to be less than ideal. Not only is availability less for the headliners, rope drop has become useless.

With paper FPs, we'd get there for rope drop and ride all the headliners without any FPs as well as other lesser attractions. This trip, for example, the line for BTMRR was at 50 by the time we walked back there after the park opened.

Availability for that fourth FP was usually for attractions that never had much of a wait in the past and never used to require a FP. Not a fan.

totally agree with you!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 yep.... I can now say, since we did experience the new system earlier this month, not sold on fp+ yet.. there were some pros, but waaayyy to many cons still.

Wow. Something must have been up with the ride. We just had a trip, too, and we hit BTMRR after 10am and found a 15 minute line. Strange that it can vary so extremely.

We just got home today. Here is our experience:

Saturday, June 14 - arrived at MK at 3:00 (arrival day), used all three prebooked FP+, booked 4, 5 and 6 late afternoon/early evening

Sunday, June 15 - AK - did not try for fourth FP. Lines were pretty short for anything we wanted to ride (10-20 minutes). Prebooked FP for EE, Kali and Kilimanjaro

Monday, June 16 - Epcot - used prebooked FP and added FP for Spaceship Earth in early afternoon. Most rides were 10-20 minute waits, except the headliners.

Tuesday, June 17 - DHS - used three prebooked FP, did TSMM standby, rode RnRC again in the single rider line, used fourth FP for F! (got this FP when we returned to the park around 8:00).

Wednesday, June 18 - MK - used three prebooked FP by lunch time, got 4, 5 and 6 throughout the afternoon and evening (last FP for Buzz at 10:50 was gotten at 10:20). Took a break from 2 pm until 8:30 pm. Had used four FPs by 2:00, had Peter Pan from 9:05-10:05 (got it before we took a break) and Buzz from 10-50-11:50 (booked at 10:20 after Wishes). Rode Splash standby in the morning - no afternoon FP available the day of. Probably could have gotten 8 or more FP if we had not taken such a long break.

Thursday, June 19 - Epcot - tried at noon to get a fourth FP for Mission Space for later, but they were gone, along with Soarin', TT and maybe Maelstrom? I remember SE, Eo, Figment were all available. SE standby lines were 40 minutes when we used on FPs, so they could be useful. Figment and Eo lines were 5-10 minutes all day.

A few observations - lines for the FP kiosks ranged from one or two people to crazy long. The kiosk by Philharmagic was always packed, but the one in Storybook Circus and the one by Jungle Cruise were quieter. Kind of aggravating to have to wait to use the kiosk - I hope they add the ability to book with the app.

Wish you could book FP+ for Sum of all Thrills. :) DDs did this four times over two days and would have happily waited in line to ride it again, but we had to draw the line somewhere. ;)

I really miss the ability to get a FP for Soarin' and TT on the same day, as well as TSMM and RnRC on the same day. I suppose it is for planning and capacity control, but I miss arriving at rope drop and being able to ride both without waiting in the standby line. We were able to get Soarin' and TT on one day due to LWTL moving up to tier one, but we waited in the standby line for TSMM at rope drop (which wasn't terrible).

LOL, how's that for ironic? I thought the elimination of the need for a FP runner was supposedly one of the best parts of FP+.

Small price to pay, when you consider that by using the kiosk you might get a crack at the elusive living with the land fp+.

But what if they're all gone by the time I get there!!!!!! :rotfl:

I wouldn't anticipate even trying to get a 4th FP. Standing in line at kiosk kiosk is not any better than standing in line for the ride.

We are in need of a DIS vet or someone who visits often to keep an updated list of FP+ kiosk locations, ranked on how busy they are. I know Josh does this a bit on his cheat sheets and posts. As poster said, makes no sense to go find and stand in line for an extra FP+ if time gained is minimal over standby. Is that mesaboy I hear volunteering?

I have no idea why you can't make your fourth and subsequent selections from the app. This seems pointlessly restrictive and controlling to me.

I think its deliberate. Its to limit the use IMO. I think its also another way of spreading them around, that kind of thing.

There is a rumor that there will be a system upgrade next month and you will be able to do it. They are doing upgrades one feature at a time so the system doesn't blow up with a bunch of changes at once.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I was told the same by a CM earlier this month. She said the app will be upgraded in July/August with this capability.

Yesterday, we got off SE and walked by the Kiosks by the pin station and the line was huge. This was about 10:45 before anyone could have been there for a fourth. There is a sign up regarding availability and Soarin' and TT were already limited.

What made me crazy was we had a 11:20 FP+ for the land. We got there at 11Am and the SB line was 10 minutes, I tell the DD's let's wait in line and we'll be out by 11:30. They said nope, they wanted to use the FP+ which made zero sense. They would rather go get a bowl of fruit and wait 20 outside the attraction than wait 10 to ride.:confused3 We already had a muffin waiting to get on SE. At 11:20 the SB line was now 25 minutes.

Using FP+ for the last 10 days I noticed two things. If they were stacked we had a lot of dead time between FP+ at it was a bit boring walking in circles waiting for our start time. Which, is way better than the second thing I noticed. People completely blocking the FP entrance either just standing there or trying to get in early arguing with the CM.

We rode the single rider line on TT several times and it was a much longer wait than any other trip. Probably because no one wanted to wait 90 minutes to ride it twice.
