We are in Orlando and bought magic bands. I still have the receipt for 2 "plain" magic bands for $12.99 each. I just decided to stay the last night on property. We should get magic bands at check in. Since I have my receipt, do you think they will give me a refund or disney gift card credit?

Did you open the Magic Bands? If they're unopened and therefore unlinked, you should be able to return them for a refund.

Nope. You cannot get a refund for used or unused magic bands (nor can they be exchanged) - it is part of Disney's written return policy. Disney gives no monetary compensation to those who decline the magic bands for any resort reservation.

If you bought the bands...have not opened them...and still have the receipt...you should be able to return them for a refund.

I believe the OP is asking about returning MB's that were purchased at a store. Not MB's that are part of a resort stay.

Right. Those will probably be returnable as long as they are still in the original packaging & you have the receipt.

According to Disney Store return policy ...

Special Products and Exceptions

MagicBands may not be returned or exchanged.

I agree, unopened.. try for a refund.
Meanwhile... I have a draw full of magic bands from each visit... pretty to have different colors.
You ll get grey and if that's not okay with you or you prefer ur bought color one???

Yes, definitely try. Even if the policy is no refund, they might give it anyway if you ask nicely. I once bought nonrefundable party tickets, and they refunded my money when I asked. They like to accomodate when they can.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but ...

The way I am reading it is that the OP has already been in Orlando and staying off-site - possibly visiting Disney parks during those days, thus the purchase of magic bands. They have now decided to stay the last night of their trip (tomorrow) on-site and will receive magic bands for the resort stay of one night. And now they have used magic bands and will be given new magic bands. I read it as wanting to refuse the magic bands they would be given at checkout and instead requesting a refund on the ones they have been using up until check-in???

Yes, I read it that way as well. If so, then I doubt that OP will get a refund.

If it is "unopened, obviously unused, new MB's" then MAYBE and worth a try.

You also cannot take the grey magic bands to a store and try to return them using the receipt for "plain" magic bands.

Actually last few stays we have added a guest and they offered MB in color of their choice.

I also read it that way, and if so:

- No you can't return the ones you have been using.
- No, you don't get a discount if you refuse hotel MB.
- Many folks refuse new MB, there is no financial benefit.
