We were there last week and I was pleasantly surprised at the weather. For August, it was downright pleasant. Lots of rains, but then the cloud cover really cooled things down. I only took ONE shower per day! That is unheard of for me in WDW in August.

Glad you are enjoying your trip. We also enjoyed the lower crowds and shorter lines.

im renting a room using dvc as well...how did you get a theme park view when you had a standard view?

Luck I guess. Requested upper floor near elevator. It's a lake view but we can see all of magic kingdom from our balcony

Sounds like you've had good luck so far. Another one who would like to hear your thoughts about the dessert party. I'm toying with the idea but can't make up my mind.

So here's my thought. This is a mother son trip with my 16 yo son. He LOVES Star Wars so it was important to me for him to enjoy every aspect of it without waiting for a spot in the heat. It was fun mainly because he said it was great and he said thank you. We don't drink so I think the value food wise is not there. How many cupcakes can you eat? We did enjoy the interaction with the characters but you don't have to do the party for that. Viewing area was cramped and while positioned well we had tall peeps stand right in front of us. We still saw most of it I would do it again but only because my son enjoyed it so much

Arrived yesterday afternoon and here are my thoughts so far...

Despite flying Delta in the middle of the mess we only got here 30 minutes late. They were so awesome about it and made us feel like they really cared that they could have screwed up our vacation. The text notifying me of flight delay allowed for and extra hour of sleep

Staying at BLT on rented points. ( Disney vacation rental). And I'm never doing anything else. Love the location. And paid for a lake view but have a theme park view. Used Amazon prime now for water and snacks. Awesome , on time ,and reasonable prices.

Love fast pass plus. We rode mine train at 5 pm when stand by was around 80 minutes. Saved our first day. Got an extra pass for splash after we used our first three.

Got on people mover around 9 and the bottom fell out. By the time the ride was over the rain had stopped. Walked right to the hub with and awesome spot for wishes. No one was rude or pushy.

Bog for breakfast this am with mine train ride at 845. It's a cute coaster and we loved it but not enough to pay for the early entry breakfast thing. We are more space mountain people.

It has honestly not been that hot .... People had me freaked out about the heat with all the surface of the sun comments. Maybe that's why I'm okay with it. We drink lots of water and are having no problems. Have seen no tour groups.

Off to Star Wars dessert party tonight.

How long in advance did you order the Amazon Prime Now? We have Amazon Prime and are staying at the BC and want to order some items. Do we order thru our regular Amazon account?

I have the same question. I am staying at Boardwalk for Labor Day weekend and would love to order waters/snacks with Amazon Prime and have it delivered to the hotel. How does that work?

We arrived last night for a two week 'summer vacation' visit to our winter home near Disney. Today we do our food shopping and settle in (that's code for rest from the hectic time we had getting ready to travel). Then it is off to Epcot for the new Soarin'.

Sounds like a fabulous time. We are in a heat wave where I live right now and I was outside today thinking that I don't remember any of our 5 August trips being as awful as it was out today. As long as you're smart, stay hydrated and move in and out of air conditioned attractions you can have an awesome time.

Same unusual heat/humidity here...a few days this week was hotter than Orlando! Normally, I'd be whining lol but figure it's most excellent conditioning for us - leave tomorrow .
