A decision will be made by Disney at 4pm of the day with regards to any wet-weather contingency plan.

In the event of bad weather the Dessert Party will be relocated to a venue indoors and then just as Illuminations is to start we will be escorted out to our special viewing area. So we will get to eat in the dry and still get our prime viewing spot for show itself (though obviously that would still mean getting wet, just without the additional long wait!)

I'm STILL at work; today's experiment was a long one, can't let the summer students work alone after 8pm so I have to do the last few samples, should be done at 11. Of course, I had to come in on Sat and Sun since I'm GOING TO WDW FOR A WEEK, 'cuz the work needs to be finished. Needless to say, the laundry is still waiting, the packing isn't half done, my boss wants me to come in from 10-12 tomorrow for group meeting, and I want to be on the raod by 5 as it is a 4 hour drive to our airport hotel. We leave for WDW on the 7:30am flight Wed 6/15, MHT-MCO!!! Can't wait to see everyone at the Dessert Party on Sat! DD doesn't know about the party and her friend who is coming also has never been to WDW! Should be a magical trip IF I'm not too tired to enjoy it! I know it'll all be worth it, but right now I'm at a bit of a low (had to be here at 6 a.m. to start this stupid experiment!). Glad to see there's a rain contingency plan, I'd posted about this and had no answer yet. Trying to get psyched, trying to stay awake...Can't wait til Saturday!!!

The party was great. I big thank you to Penny!!!! The white chocolate slipper filled with the chocolate mosse was out of this world. Also, the view was amazing. The entire experiance was out of this world. Thanks again you are the best.

We just got home, and I wanted to send another thank you to Penny for this wonderful event. It was a perfect evening. My DDs told me they felt so 'special' having this private area to watch the fireworks. One of my DDs is still wearing the purple wristband and will NOT take it off !

Thanks for all of your hard work. It was so much fun! The highlight of our trip!

LOL! I have a feeling Penny will be retiring from organizing things like this. I think it was a lot of work for her (which we really appreciate). It would have been SO great if all of the events she had wanted to plan had happened. She tried to plan a special event for each day just for us DISsers, but the Illuminations Buffet is the only one that got enough people to participate. I was simply wonderful! I will be spoiled from any future viewins of Illuminations. None will ever be able to compare after this!

We had a GREAT time!! Thank you so much, Penny, for all your hard work. It was a perfect place to view Illuminations, the weather was perfect and the desserts - oh, the desserts!!!

Dwight, Tori and I enjoyed meeting so many nice DISers - sorry we didn't meet everyone - there just wasn't enough time!

Thanks for posting the pictures! On the far left is me and my DD walking away from the buffet. Wasn't it wonderful! Wish we could do it all over again! What a night! It was the highlight of our trip!
