Hi Guys!!

I'm sorry for the delay in posts!!! We started our journey home yesterday (Saturday), and JUST got home about 10 minutes ago! (We stopped over in N.C. to sleep last night).

Anyways, I still need to update you all on our last full day (Friday), with pics, of course, and an update on the puppies (and pics!!). Oh, and I forgot to mention and show you all my kitties as well!!! One of them was not very good while we were gone (pics to show you!!!).

We came home to about 10 inches of crusty snow (yuck!!!)

DH came down with a cold on our last full day in Disney. Usually it is me who gets sick EVERY time we go to Disney.. this time it was DH!!! Fortunatly, I was prepared, and broughts lots of cold meds!!!

Well, I will post our last day, and bring you all up to date tomorrow!!!!!

Hi All!!

Okay, so on our last day at Disney, we decide to finish touring the worlds in Epcot before our lunch at Le Cellier.. yummy!!!

1st, we head back to Mexico, as MIL wanted to buy something from the gift shop. I have to say, I saw a "first!". While we were entering the gift shop (the one with a lot of jewlrey in it), we saw a woman customer with her top off!!!! She was behind the counter (at first I thought she was a worker), and was trying on a shirt. The CM behind the counter was helping her button it. Well, she then proceeded to take off the shirt, right behind the counter, leaving her bra for all to see!! She didn't even seem to care, and we heard her say "It's not like anyone hasn't seen this before." Can you believe it?? What if there were kids in the store???

We then exit Mexico, and what do I see?? A margarita stand! Hey, it's 11:30 am... that means it's almost noon (or at least it is somewhere.. how does that saying go? It's 5:00 pm somewhere!!). We get some drinks!

Note how good DH is!! No margaritas for him!!

We then head over to Morocco, and get our traditional pic taken!

We tour the rest of the worlds that we didn't get to see the other day, and end up back at Canda just in time for our 1:00 pm lunch reservation. We see Santa along the way....

santa.jpg

I hope no one told him about my margartias!!

This was my first time at Le Cellier.. boy was the food yummy! We were seated in the Ontario Section.

lecelliler.jpg

First on the list... Martinis!! I have the Choc Rasberry Martini, and FIL has the Choc Vanilla Martini. Mine was soooo good! FIL said his was "okay", but wasn't anything special. (I guess I know how to pick the good ones!!!)

martinislecelliler.jpg

We all order the same thing for lunch (I know... how boring! I was tempted to ask the people seated next to us if I could take pics of their food, but I thought that might sound funny). We all get the prime rib sandwich with horseradish sauce and au jus. It was so good and so filling!!

Oh, and of course we all started off with the cheddar cheese soup and breadsticks!

We then finish up at Epcot, and hop on the monaril to go and tour the MK resorts for Christmas decorations....

Part 2... hotels and evening drinks! (all the pics don't fit into 1 post.... have to break it up!)

By this time, DH is starting to feel "crummy", with a sore throat and stuffy nose.

We decide to tour the MK resorts on the monaril (sorry.. no WL pics), and then head back to the hotel. Plus, by this time (around 3:00 pm) it is raining, and it is a cool rain.

First stop... Poly!

Poly Gingerbread house!

polygingerbread.jpg

I didn't see a really large tree, just the smaller tree posted above. Still, it was pretty!

We then head over to the GF... love the large gingerbread house!

gfgingerbread.jpg

The tree is so large, I can barely get the whole tree in the pic!!

Lastly, we head over to the Contempory. There was a convention starting on this day, and there were a BUNCH of people checking in!! I overhead someone say there was going to be 3,000 people at the convention (this was on 12/9/05). I imagine they all won't be staying at the Contempory.. or can they hold that much?? Not much decorations seen at this resort...

conttree.jpg

We then head back to the our resort, so that DH can rest!

While DH rests, I head down to the AKL lounge along with MIL and FIL for some yummy martinis!

This was an orange martini.. tasted like tang to me... yum!!

akdrinks.jpg

MIL has a vanilla russian, while FIL and I have orange martinis.

Here are MIL and FIL enjoying their drinks!

2nd round of drinks coming up!

FIL stays with orange martinis, I switch to Caramel Apple Martini.. just as yummy! MIL changes to a black russian...

Thank goodness I was the photo taker, otherwise my photos would be here after my drinks.. ha ha!!!!

After our drinks, it is time to go back to our hotel rooms and begin to pack for our departure on 12/10/05...

Well, the day to leave has arrived

We pack up, and get ready for our LONG drive home... DH is still feeling crummy, but fortunately I had packed some cold medications! It now appears as if he might also have pink eye in addition to the cold or whatever he caught!... (going to the MD tomorrow)...

I take a few last pics of our hotel...

We start our journey home around 12:15 pm on 12/10/05. We stop to sleep in N.C at 11:00 pm, and head back on the road at 7:30 am on 12/11/05...

By this time, we are all getting very anxious to get home! We have been gone since 11/30/05.. it will be nice to get back to our own home, and see all the animals too!

This is what we find in PA later that afternoon....

updatedcarridehome.jpg

Doesn't look like much fun! Where is the sunny Fl weather?? :sunny:

It starts snowing around 5:00 ish while we are heading into NY. The temp by this time was 27 degrees, so the roads were a bit slick! Fortunatley, I have the 4wd!!

Well, we finally make it home at 8:00 pm last night (12/11/05) after a LONG 24 hours total of travel time!

The puppies are soooo glad to see us!! Buster (our male mastiff) had managed to enter a "restricted" room.... he climbed onto the stairs, over a box and over a baby gate just so he could go into the living room (where the tree is, of course!!). The other pups didn't follow... perhaps this is why Buster has had 2 ACL surgeries in the past few years... by climbing and jumping over things he shouldn't????? Fortunatley, the tree is still standing.

The pups are now in their favorite spot... the couch! This couch is pretty much theirs now.. hey, when you are 170 lb dogs x 2, you pretty much need your own couch!!

updatedpicsofpups.jpg

The guilty one (Buster) is behind Sassy... can't you see that guilty face??
Oh, you can also see the scar on this leg from one of this ACL surgeries... he is such an active dog!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention the kitties to you all! We have 3 cats (I know... we are crazy!)

Tucker was not very good while we were away... he took a liking to my spider plant.. look at all the spiders he took off of my plant!!

updatedspiderplantmess.jpg

Tucker (aka the bad kitty):

Fiona (aka the fraidy cat!):

Spaz (with multpile personalities!!.. one minute she is nice, the next, evil!!):

This pic was taken on her "good" day.. ha ha!!

Oh, and let's not forget the snow we came home to!!

Backyard:

Remember what the front yard looked like in my first post (the pic with the dogs??)

Here it is now...

8-10 inches later!!

Oh, I think I forgot to show you all the gingerbread house we bought at the Yacht and beach club! It made it home in one piece!

Well, I hope you all enjoyed my trip report and pics!!! Thanks for all the great replies and comments! If anyone has any questions, I'd be glad to answer them!!!

As you can see, my dogs are very spoiled!!!

I loved your report!! I hate that its over.. Your inlaws look like so much fun! You're very lucky! Glad you made it back home safe and I hope your husband gets better soon! :wizard:

Are you sure you're not originally from Louisiana :rotfl2:
Love the trip report and I have a question if it's not too personal...How did you guys manage to stay at AKL for so long. I know it isn't a cheap resort and I have always wanted to be able to take an extended trip like that to AKL or one of the other similar resorts...any tips???

Hi!

We actually only spent 7 nights at AKL (Sat to Sat). The first 2 nights were off site, so that helped cut down the costs! Plus, we are annual pass holders, so we got some pretty good rates with the best rate program... we saved about 80.00 per night with the best rate program!!! So, we saved over $500.00 with the best rate program!
